8. Singing

It wasn't often Merun found himself in the mood to sing. Maybe once a month he'd catch himself at it while working, if he'd heard a really catchy new song song and had it stuck in his head. But he was never caught by anyone else.

He stopped short, peering over his shoulder from his spot on the ladder, up where the potions were, and saw the customer walking in. Naturally, he'd be at least somewhat flustered, but Merun was a flippant little guy; he was so embarrassed that his hand shot to his face, causing the potion he was placing to tip. He hastily grabbed for the potion to try and catch it from falling off the shelf, caused the ladder to shake with the sudden movement, and--fell off, with several potions crashing down after him.

Now, Tidus had certainly seen some strange faces recently, but these ones? Jeeze, these ones took the cake for weird faces. They weren't from his Zanarkand, and they certainly were not from anywhere in Spira that he had been, and he was damn sure he had been everywhere! A few people felt familiar, like an ache in the back of his brain. There, but not quite. Maybe he had met them before? Maybe they had come back, just like he had, and he had met them in the Farplane. Sin was not around any longer, so it was not possible... Was it? He frowned and moved towards the stranger in front of him. "Hey! You look kinda lost! Can I, uh, help?"

Even though she had been initially drawn into the movie, Selphie's brows had started to knit together out of confusion, clearly unable to reliably predict how the story was going to go.

It wasn't until two of the main characters were furiously kissing that she turned to Demi, motioning towards the screen with a hand. "Do you understand this? Like, at all? I thought they were being set up to hate each other!"

Amarant likes traveling--it's a definite requirement of bounty hunting to be able to get around on one's own, in or out of civilized areas. He prefers roughing it, though, because there's less crowds and noise, and he feels there's a lot more to see.
