20th Television Animation Showcases First Simpsons-less San Diego Comic Con Schedule

With the WGA currently picketing and a looming SAG-AFTRA strike already impacting San Diego Comic-Con with several Disney divisions skipping the convention (Marvel Studios,Lucasfilm Entertaiment,Disney Television Animation) However, here’s a glimpse at the schedule of the convention.

Some shows have promised cast appearances, but that’s still TBD given that the SAG-AFTRA contract expires on July 12, and actors aren’t permitted to promote their wares during a work stoppage. 

For the first time ever the hit animated prime-time comedy "The Simpsons" will skip the convention as the crew of the show wants to stay soliditary with the WAG strike and SAG strike as the show is under the WAG.

PBS’s ‘A Capitol Fourth’ Will Feature ‘West Side Story’ Tribute, Salute To Lincoln Memorial’s Centennial

This year’s A Capitol Fourth, the annual televised Independence Day concert, will feature a celebration of West Side Story‘s 65th anniversary, headlined by Chita Rivera, and a centennial salute to the Lincoln Memorial.

The event, to be broadcast on PBS, will be hosted by Mickey Guyton, with performances by Darren Criss, Yolanda Adams, Gloria Gaynor, Keb’ Mo’, Emily Bear and Loren Allred with the National Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Jack Everly. Rachel Platten will do a special tribute to military heroes and their families, as she performs her song Stand By You.

The event, on the West Lawn of the Capitol, will be open to the public, after two years of virtual celebrations due to Covid.

Guyton will also perform during the event. She was the first African American artist to be nominated in a country music category. She has hosted the Academy of Country Music Awards and performed the National Anthem at the Super Bowl.

Rivera, who played Anita in the original Broadway production of West Side Story, will lead the anniversary celebration, as the National Symphony Orchestra performs a musical tribute.

Adams will perform Battle Hymn of the Republic from the Lincoln Memorial as part of the 100th anniversary salute.

The evening will conclude with the Capital fireworks display, including a performance featuring The U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own,” also marking its 100th anniversary.

The event will air from 8 PM ET to 9:30 PM ET on PBS. It also will be aired on Armed Forces Network and aired on NPR member stations. It will be streamed on YouTube and PBS.org from July 4 to July 18.

Also participating will be the U.S. Army Herald Trumpets, the U.S. Army Presidential Salute Battery, members of the Armed Forces carrying the state and territorial Flags, the Armed Forces Color Guard provided by the Military District of Washington, D.C., the Choral Arts Society of Washington and Patrick Lundy & The Ministers of Music.

The concert is a co-production of Michael Colbert of Capital Concerts and WETA-TV.

Disney Streaming Services Brings "Hulu's Animayhem" Experience to SDCC With 20th Television Animation

Disney is bringing it to life through a massive fan experience that invites attendees to the 2-D world of some of its most famous adult animations. They're calling it "Hulu Animayhem: Enter the 2nd Dimension".

Hulu Animayhem: Enter the 2nd Dimension will be in the Bayfront Parking Lot July 20-23, and allows fans of Futurama, Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy, and more to interact with their favorite animated series and characters from 20th Television Animation.

“Solar Opposites”: INSIDE THE WALL (Hulu Original/20th Television Animation)

ZAP! Yumyulack has done it again. As fans enter the 2nd Dimension, they find themselves shrunken down and tossed into the beloved Wall, in this larger than life experience.

Season four premieres on August 14, 2023 with 10 episodes, followed by a Valentine’s Day Special coming in 2024.

“The Great North”: ALANIS BOREALIS (FOX/20th Television Animation)

Fans will step into the expansive Alaskian landscape to join Judy Tobin as she asks for life advice from her imaginary best friend and famed 90’s singer/songwriter Alanis Morrisette. A projected Alanis constellation will appear in the sky and fans can witness the fun, playful interactions between the characters (and maybe even pick up some tips themselves!). 

“American Dad”: HALL OF INFINITE ROGERS (FOX/20th Television Animation)

The CIA’s most wanted alien has endless disguises. As fans continue to make their way through the experience, they get a look into just how infinite Roger’s collection of disguises really is! 

“Family Guy”: 360 TIME TRAVEL & LIVING ROOM (FOX/20th Television Animation)

Step on Stewie’s infamous Time Travel Pad and take a trip through the 2nd Dimension with this unique photo opp.

Guests can also grab a photo on the iconic couch or just sit back and stay awhile as they enjoy the magnitude of Hulu Animayhem content Hulu has to offer.

“Archer”: WALL OF AGENCY HEROS (FX)

Playing homage to Archer’s opening credits, fans can step in to join the cast in this iconic photo moment.

The iconic living room has landed in front of the giant Hulu Animayhem TV. Guests can grab a photo or sit and stay awhile as they enjoy all the content Hulu has to offer.

“Bob’s Burgers”: GRAND RE-RE-RE OPENING (FOX/20th Television Animation)

Fans of Bob’s Burgers won’t be able to resist bellying up to the counter and snapping a pic with their favorite animated family – The Belchers.

“Futurama”: FUTURAMA HAS LANDED ON HULU (Hulu Original/20th Television Animation)

Futurama is BACK for a new season and will be debuting as a Hulu Original Monday, July 24! 

The last piece of the activation will feature an incredible 55 ft replica of HQ, along with a crash-landed Planet Express ship. Inside HQ, fans will be able to immerse themselves in the beloved series with a variety of photo moments and immersive set builds.

His brain was sluggish, so slow to realize what was said and even slower to come up with a response.

Adam whined and stretched his tongue, trying desperately to lick at the head of Moxleys cock. Jon refused and pulled at the curly golden strands even harder, forcing his head back until he was able to look Moxley in the eyes.

Adam moaned at the sting to his scalp but Jon tsks at him. 

He frowned, why did Jon look disappointed, did he do something wrong?

Tears had formed in his eyes, and he tried to blink them away. “Grrree.”

The responding smile from Jon made Adam feel so very shiny. He did good, he was good, Mox is smiling, he followed directions. He opened his mouth again, making desperate little begging sounds that he would deny later, but for now it was enough to get him what he desperately wanted. Adam bit Mox harshly on his neck, making the laughing man wince but his point was made.

“Ow bitch damn, it was a joke.”

Seeing the reddening mark he pressed a kiss against it in silent apology. They still had time before the show ended and they’d need to meet with the EVPS to discuss the promos they needed to shoot for the “road to” videos. Luckily that just meant Adam had enough time to comfortably cuddle on Jon before the other man led them into the showers and washed them both clean. There were snacks and water in the room but he was comfortable where he was and he trusted Mox to take care of him. His boyfriend always did.
