This novel follows a line of Romani women from the time they escape from France in 1821 through the end of WWII. Narrow escapes, doubt, and lost love hit nearly every generation, but they carry on.
I read the first few chapters during the week while dinners were cooking, then finished it on Saturday. I’m thoroughly enjoying getting back into the habit of reading again. So much so, that I don’t miss playing any video games on Saturday anymore. 🙂

This was not the typical witch story I thought I was going to be getting when I picked this up. Wanting a story of magic and maybe even some scares, this was nothing like that but still it did not disappoint. This is a fantastic story of mothers and daughters…with a little magic tossed in here and there. If you like Alice Hoffman, you’ll love Louisa Morgan!
