Lesson 12 has confirmed we’re not just sent back to the past but in a different timeline from the original obey me game

Yes! Glad it's basically confirming that this is a whole other "world"/timeline, because anyway basically from the moment we landed in this time, everything would have necessarily branched, because MC obviously did not exist in this time originally! And it's not like MC's presence is a minor little thing; we are SO involved in everyone's lives from there. We were already kind of eye-rolling at Solomon's warning about time paradoxes and not telling anyone we're from the future, especially since he himself is totally fucking around in the past with stuff like that Asmo pact, so it's nice to have somewhat of a counter-confirmation that no, this is just a separate thing.

Then again, the time travel stuff was handled so messily in the first game as is and just clearly is not Solmare's strength, writing-wise! Why they decided to make it the premise of a whole new game is way beyond us. For our part, we're just going to sit here yelling "no take-backs!!" about the different world thing even if they change their minds again later on 🙄

Having thoughts about how much I just love Solomon’s character, especially with how Nightbringer has developed him.

He’s a nigh immortal being with hundreds of years of loves and losses and loneliness and he fills that that gaping emptiness with an untiring pursuit of knowledge and power. He’s ambitious, needing to be the best sorcerer with the most demon pacts not for the sake of power itself but to champion humanity as a whole. And he seems to have succeeded – I personally wonder if part of the reason Lucifer dislikes him so much is because Solomon is one of the few beings that can actually pose Lucifer a serious threat.

He’s been moving through decades playing with the people around him and resisting attachments until suddenly and inexplicably one single ordinary human screeches everything to the most interesting halt. At first we’re just another toy for him, an new variable that brings some novelty to the monotony of time that immortality can bring.

But as time goes on he finds himself getting more and more attached, no matter how many times he tries to keep his heart in check, knowing exactly how this ends, how it always ends.

Then Nightbringer, where we’re ripped from our home, our family, maybe our loves, and dropped into a mirror world with hostile friends and no bonds to rely on. And he says, “Well, that simply won’t do”, and drops everything to ensure that we have at least one person we can always release our mask around and be ourselves with.

And even then he expects so little, couching his brief weak flirtations with laughs and ‘Just kidding’s’, as if to convince himself as well as us that it’s just a joke, this ache in his heart, this burning desire to claim us over the demon brothers, to be the one we favor even as we are completely consumed with trying to set the boys back on the right track. When we don’t come home because we’re stuck late with them, he goes drinking alone and gets lost in memories of the other losses he’s suffered, thinking if maybe he relives the hurt enough it will finally drive home that we can never truly be his.

But as soon as he sees us the next morning, sleepily rubbing our eyes over coffee we’re pouring for him, he topples hopelessly, madly back into love. And he thinks guiltily, self loathingly, that maybe us getting lost in time was the best thing that’s ever happened to him.

You're currently lying upside down on the side of Solomon’s bed, watching him scribble away on some papers you couldn’t care less about. He’s probably working on another lesson for you, but you’re too frustrated to focus on practicing magic. No, you’re feeling something worse than frustration—you're bored.

You’re bored out of your mind, and you want entertainment, attention, anything that’ll distract you from thoughts of ‘how many pens I can steal from Solomon’s desk without him noticing’.

You groan obnoxiously, hoping Sol gets the hint and puts his pen down. Solomon doesn’t, of course, he heard you, and of course, he’s purposefully paying no mind to him.

So, of course, you do it again. Groaning even louder and rolling around on his bed, kicking your feet on the bed to get your point across even more. It's childish, yes but you don't care in the slightest. pausing your movements to peek up at the desk he’s at and notice Solomon’s still writing away.

Annoying.

“Hey. heyy…. Hey geezer. Old bat,” you say, picking up a loose piece of paper off the floor and tearing off the corners to throw at him. “Pay attention to me.”

Silence.

“Sol. Solomon.” He finally stops writing, but he doesn't let the pen go. He just sits in silence, staring at the paper he was previously writing on and the stray balled-up pieces of paper now starting to collect on his desk.

“Solomonie. "Mr. Monsolo,” continuing to spew out random names you could think of, Solomon finally lets the pen drop to the desk with a deep sigh.

Solomon finally looks up at you, surprisingly, he doesn't look annoyed. It's almost as if he was expecting you to do something like this, which he isn’t. At this point, bothering him has become a hobby for you. “What can I do for you, my lovely MC?”

"I've got a question for you"

“Oh?”

“Yeah, listen up, okay?” You shift in your spot on the bed so that you’re sitting upright on your knees facing him. Sitting in silence for a moment, thinking of the next string of words coming out of your mouth: "If I were a leech, would you let me feed off you? yknow, like blood.”

Solomon smiles at that. “You want to drink my blood?” you shake your head, “not particularly no… well, I guess not currently. I’m not a leech. Or a vampire… or Asmodeus.” you whisper the last bit, though you guess he still heard you since he laughs a little.

“Is that really what you wanted to ask me?” When he sees you nod at that, Solomon sits back in his chair with a finger tapping his chin (even the way he thinks is annoying) and ponders for a moment,

"MC, there’s not a thing I wouldn’t let you do to me if you asked for it.”

The room went silent for a moment, and the atmosphere suddenly changed. You couldn’t quite place it, you don’t know exactly what kind of mood it shifted into, but you could feel the utter disgust forming on your face from that.

“Can’t you just, like, say no or something? You go along with almost everything I say.”

“You would’ve been upset if I didn’t let you suck my blood.”

“WELL-…yeah but you don't have to word it like that. I can’t tell if you’re messing with me or not.”

Solomon chuckles lightly before getting up out of his chair to meet you on the bed. He sits next to you and places his hand on top of yours.

“I mean it, MC. There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for you.”

Ahh, there he goes again. Solomon has a habit of getting all sentimental at the most random moments of the day. He’s so earnest and genuine that you never know what to say or do. What’s the right thing to say when someone says that to you? Especially your teacher, of all people.

“Do you always care for your students like this?”

"I've only ever had one.”

God, what's with his sudden mood shift? It’s getting harder to breathe, and he’s making it harder. His hand moves under yours to weave his fingers in between yours and squeeze them.

“There’s only one student I’ve ever cared about like this, MC.”

“Good.” You squeeze back.

the brothers r first because i was thinking abt this for one billion hours:

asmo is genderfluid and i think he'd use she/he pronouns. (we could also argue bigender asmo because that'd be cool also)

he/they transmasc mammon. literally they/them'd in a call and i saw a transmasc mammon headcanon and i think abt it all the time now.

it's been discussed here before but levi is nonbinary transfem. she uses they/she pronouns and i will die on this hill. also uses some type of neopronouns. gamer girlfailure /j (might be femcel. idk it might be the amount of times they use "normie") (i'm in love with her)

belphie is too tired to give a shit about gender. he says "no" if asked. they/it/he maybe. probably uses star/starself neos too cuz that stuff rocks (agender belphie anyone???)

beel uses any pronouns and doesn't rly label his gender i don't think. never really gave it much thought probably but i don't think he cares. love them lots. :3

i don't think satan really cares about gender either BUT i think he could identify with catgender (he/cat pronouns (maybe more) he'd use cat-centric neopronouns this has to be canon)

nonbinary lucifer is canon on my SOUL. they use they/she/he pronouns because they can and will.

then we got the silly goober dateables + small child luke:

diavolo got that demiboy swag and once he discovers neopronouns it's gonna be awesome. he/they/prince pronouns (or any other royal-centric ones)

barbatos is agender. bro is a time master lord guy they do NOT give a shit. they/them and maybe it/its depending on the day

solomon uses them all. every single pronoun. they've lived so fucking long that they just said "fuck it" or something and claimed all of them. he made the genderfluid in his cauldron and promptly drank it. uses neos too but there's a lot that fit here. maybe it's all of them too. i do think xe/xem (and other variations) are used though because i said so

i don't know if angels have a concept of gender or not. they/he simeon though something about him is nonbinary af luv u simeon

i'm not sure for luke because he's like... 10... but again idk if angels really have the gender concept at all (probably not they're supernatural beings. they all are actually). might be a mainly he/him user but doesn't mind it when other pronouns are used. idk the gender because hes a child but maybe he'll figure it out later in life cuz rn he's worried about baking really good treats for michael

last but not least the characters they refuse to add to the system (please im in love with thirteen please PLEASE):

mephisto got that bigender swag idk something about them screams it. i do think they use they/he pronouns though (maybe she/her also, but it depends on the day lawl)

thirteen is transfem i feel it in my bones. she/it/they pronouns. i love her so much. it's my favorite character ever look everyone. obey me devs add thirteen to the intimacy system NOW PLEASE.

Obey Me! Nightbringer Lesson 23 sent me on an emotional roller coaster!

I have always been and always will be a massive Mammon simp. I love him. Genuinely and truly.

So when he said this :

I felt terrible for him, I wanted to hug/hold him and comfort him so badly!!

Because that's not true at all! ; ^ ;

Mammon is NOT awful. He's never been awful. Just because he has "greedy" desires... That could be said of everyone.

Mammon is a wonderful, passionate person and a loving, caring brother. He has been my favorite since the very beginning because I could tell just how sweet and kind and pure he is deep down.

He deserves the very best. He is worthy of everything good in all three worlds!

I love Mammon, I will always love Mammon.

Then when he finally awakens...

You can hug me as much as you want, any time you want, nonstop, please never let go! TwT

I seriously was SO much happier with this pact scenario than in the OG.

I mean... in the OG, Mammon only wanted his credit card. So it seemed kind of... forced? Not special?

But this time! Making a pact with Mammon is special. It's meaningful. It felt right. In my opinion, it's perfect! Kudos to the devs for this one 💙

And it gets even better :

I legitimately wanted to cry. I actually felt tears begin to form in my eyes, no joke or exaggeration.

I know it's "just a game", but that hit me HARD! I took it personally, and it meant so much to me. Especially coming from Mammon (ಥ◡ಥ)

Forget the pact, where's our marriage certificate already?! lol

Anyway.... I was completely satisfied with this Lesson. I'm happy we made our pact with Mammon and how/why it happened.

Originally, I thought maybe Nightbringer would follow the OG in terms of forming pacts, which would mean that Levi was next.

But from how this lesson ended, it looks like Asmo is actually next! All I can say is.... I'm super excited for more 💙

My friend that's been taking me around to the reptile expos just posted up one of her high-white Solomon Island ground boa baby holdbacks from 2019 on morph market and it is killing me. The high white babies like this just keep getting prettier as they get older. Their scales are keeled so it feels like petting a dragon, and they only get like 2-3 feet long (the boys like this) and every time I see one it makes me wish I was still keeping snakes.

She actually posted a bunch of other snakes too, if anyone's interested in acquiring some really cool species! She does ship!
