at this point of his life hes forgotten his original passion and love for art and hes basically entirely in it for the money .

he tries to look for inspo by js going around and trynna find disturbing shit (not hard bc this is the 1960s) but none of it gives him inspo .

this is asko how he first meets lil petey . hes js a homeless orphan basically and when peteys poking around in a ghetto to look for inspo he happens to meet lil petey and he keeps following him around and bothering him LOL .

i think the ghetto lil petey lives in is similar to great depression ghettos and petey spent much of his early childhood in the great depression (born early to mid 1930s) . so lil petey reminds him a Lot of himself when he was younger

at some point lil petey gets his hands on peteys art stuff and not only does he have a lot of fun w drawing but petey can tell hes Really talented bc his art is Really good for his age . at that point he takes lil petey under his wing as an apprentice of sorts

anyways hes hitting dead end after dead end w inspo until he finds dm ☝️☝️

im thinking dm and lp meet first somehow and lp keeps hanging out w him until one day petey finds him while hes hanging out w dm. and thats how petey meets dm .

i think when theyre talking (dm writing) in their first meeting dm tries to subtly scratch at his stitches but peteys sees and hes like Oh. ohoho . now This is gonna be disturbing.

so he basically js asks dm to be his muse . and dm has never had this happen before but hes like ok!! bc hes dm LMFAAAOO so atp dm doesnt know that petey knows hes a hybrid

I feel like this topic has been discussed to death, but it is still quite confusing to me. Do you think if, for example, the Oprah interview didn’t happen, would the BRF have allowed Harry and Meghan’s kids to have the prince and princess titles after Charles became king?

Correct me if my understanding/speculation is wrong, but it seems to me that the BRF intended Harry and Meghan to go the Edward and Sophie route (regarding their kids’ titles) even after the Queen’s death. And that’s what didn’t sit right with Harry and Meghan.

Do you think the brf should’ve carefully considered that a new mixed race member of the royal family (Archie) would’ve needed a different kind of support and protection? And imo, the BRF failed to a certain extent in handling the situation. I think their response was to treat Archie as they would’ve treated him if he was white (i.e. without special treatment as if he was just one of Edward and Sophie’s kids), but actually maybe they needed to be more sensitive. I think they failed to grasp the significance of a mixed race member of the royal family, and in that sense perhaps there is a hint of racism. Because obviously the situation blew up. It means there still cannot be mixed race members of the family without there being issues, which reflects a bit badly on the institution. I don’t mean they were obviously racist and discriminatory, but it’s their lack of action that makes them guilty. The issue of race will always be complicated, and the BRF failed to handle the situation with sensitivity.

Archie and Lili were always automatically entitled to HRH Prince/Princess titles. They just had to be grandchildren of the monarch first. That's guaranteed by the 1917 Letters Patent (LP), and there was never any indication by anyone anywhere that it wouldn't happen. The kids were always going to get the titles on Charles's ascension, no matter what, regardless of the Oprah interview.

It was suggested - by the Sussexes themselves in their own announcement of Archie's name when they said he would be known as Master Archie Mountbatten-Windsor instead of Earl of Dumbarton - that when the time came, they would decline the HRH Prince/Princess on the kids' behalves much like Edward and Sophie did.

Whether the kids had the title or not, whether they used them or not, isn't the controversy. The controversy is the 2012 LP, which solved a problem the 2011 Perth Agreement created with the 1917 LP.

First, the 1917 LP: Issued by George V, it restricts use of HRH Prince/Princess to the grandchildren of the reigning monarch and the eldest living son of the eldest son of the Prince of Wales.

Second, the 2011 Perth Agreement: Made during the 2011 CHOGM in Perth, Australia (hence the name), this is an agreement between all the countries of the Commonwealth that they would issue laws abolishing male primogeniture (men inherit before women; this is why Anne is #18 and behind Andrew and Edward despite being the second child) inheritance of the throne with absolute primogeniture (firstborn child inherits regardless of gender). In the UK, the 2011 Perth Agreement led to the 2013 Succession to the Crown Act which is the British law officially replacing male primogeniture with absolute primogeniture.

The Perth Agreement conflicts with the 1917 LP. Remember that the 1917 LP says the eldest living son of the eldest son of the Prince of Wales. With the Perth Agreement in place (and eventually the 2013 Succession to the Crown Act), this means that if William's first child is a daughter (aka the future queen) and his second child is a son, the younger brother will outrank the the future queen until Charles becomes King. Meaning for however long it takes for Charles to accede, #4 will outrank #3 and in a system organized by primogeniture-based hierarchy...that's a problem. A big problem. It's like saying the Vice President is more important than the President.

Leading to the 2012 LP: Issued by Elizabeth II, it gives HRH Prince/Princess to all children of the eldest son of the Prince of Wales. Meaning, only William's children get HRH Prince/Princess titles from birth and Harry's children have to wait until Charles becomes King. No one had a problem with that. Even the gossip/leaks from aristo circles hinted that Harry didn't have a problem with it.

Where the Oprah interview comes into play is that the Oprah interview was the first time it was confirmed and acknowledged that the Sussexes had a problem with the 1917 and 2012 LPs. As Meghan discussed, they felt that because The Queen issued the 2012 LP for William's children giving them HRH Prince/Princess from birth, The Queen should issue a new LP for Harry's children giving them HRH Prince/Princess from birth and justified it with racism-related safety/security concerns.

But here's the thing: First, HRH Prince/Princess titles is not what establishes the need for security. It's the threat to the person that establishes the need for security. Second, minor children inherit their parents' status. Meaning that even though the-future-child-now-known-as-Archie didn't have titles, he still had security through Harry's and Meghan's risk assessments and Harry's and Meghan's risk assessments would have been properly re-evaluated with Archie part of their family.

So when you say the BRF failed to handle this, are you then saying that you think The Queen should have issued a new LP to #7 in the Line of Succession granting that child the right to be titled HRH Prince/Princess from birth? Even though that child has a very insignificantly tiny chance of ever inheriting the throne? Even though the only justification for #7 to have those titles from birth is because he's of mixed racial status? Even though he was getting the titles anyway?

The only special treatment the BRF needed to provide was consideration for his personal security. Which they did. By following the parents' wishes to protect his privacy and limit and control the public's access to him. Are you saying the BRF should have overruled Harry and Meghan's wishes? And in what ways would overruling their wishes provide more security to Archie?

Because frankly, when you say "they failed to grasp the significance of a mixed race member of the royal family," it sounds like you expect the BRF to be parading Archie around to show him off. And that actually is kind of racist, because now they're treating him like the token person of color who's shoved to the front of every photograph to prove they're diverse and they can't be racist. Which actually is racist too.

So...what's the BRF supposed to do? They're racist if they treat Archie differently. They're racist if they treat Archie the same. What should they have done?

For me personally, speaking only for myself and no one else since you asked me what I think -- I think the BRF should strive for inclusion. Which is treating everyone fairly and equally. Meaning Archie doesn't get special treatment. He's afforded the same things everyone else got:

Titles upon becoming the grandchild of the reigning monarch,

Press releases and palace announcements of his birth,

Defense when the media was viciously cruel,

Security and status inherited from his parents,

A private, secure, and securely-protected home, and

His parents' wishes followed for how public or private he should be.

And that's what the BRF provided.

The only special treatment provided here was special treatment for William's family. That's because the succession to the crown was involved. Which is part of the problem with monarchy; the first gets everything at everyone else's expense. Harry, for the longest time, has been lumped in as part of the first even though he's actually part of the 'everyone else.' And IMO, that's the real mistake here: Harry should have been recategorized to 'everyone else' years before he actually was, like when he finished Sandhurst in 2005 or when he turned 25 (2009), not when he was 33 and getting engaged in 2017. Because had Harry been rightfully 'everyone else'-d for a decade-plus without having been part of the Cambridge unit and before he married or had a child, we probably wouldn't be having this conversation today.

i don't know if The Leaders (and The Real) coming out in 2021 means that Ateez possibly might have grown a little since then, or if they just recognized that the branding of The Leaders (and its ideas) was not a good idea? and scrapped that branding to something completely opposite because the yikes were too much? or, was The Leaders all kayfabe? half truths? or am i just being a gullible goofball and not recognizing satire/sarcasm in The Leaders because i do be me tho?

Holy shit - No. You do not need to feel icky about Ateez. I do not have any reason to think they are like Andrew Tate. I think all of them would be horrified at the comparison. I also don't think they are anything like Eminem not least because they are not writing the songs.

Also! Ateez in particular and Kpop in general are rarely trying to express personal opinions of the performing artists nor the songmakers - they are trying to put on a good show. If my little essay turned you off of Ateez then that's a failure of my writing and I am very sincerely sorry I put a damper on your good time with a band I really like a LOT.

To be more concise than my big long thing - there are personal (I repeat PERSONAL) reasons I don't like that song very much and what it says. What Ateez does as part of the entertainment they try to provide is be all the stuff boys and girls jointly think are fun and cool for boys to be - bikers, revolutionaries, anarchists, pirates, underground artists, cowboys, hackers, gamblers, boxers and fighters etc etc. One of the things they tried for with The Leaders song was just a major personal turn off for me. That's what I was trying to express.

All of Ateez songs probably further their very complicated multi dimensional lore so as I said in my post, there's probably some plot reason this song was written.

My critique is of the aesthetics of the song, not the individual performers who sing or perform the song. I hope that clears it up??

General Description:

Abigail stands at 5’0 with a thin build. She has a strong jawline and cheekbones. Her eyes are a vibrant shade of blue, that some find scary to look at. Abigail has wavy dark blonde hair with highlights bleached into it. Abigail wears layered clothing and tennis shoes, enjoying a simple style that she feels comfortable in.

Abigail exhibits a lot of social anxiety due to her autism. She has only recently gotten her diagnosis, and doesn’t know how to mask or properly regulate her emotions. This is one of the reasons she likes to keep to herself. There’s no pressure to socialize. Abigail would love to make friends, but has been discouraged to do that thanks to bullying in her younger years and how other students treat her at Bullworth. She is anxious when speaking, and fidgets as a way to soothe herself. In situations where Abigail feels threatened, she is likely to shut down. Interests and whatnot:

The greasers don’t tend to bother Abigail. She is friends with Kate Valenti since they share some of the same interests. Abigail doesn’t hang out with the clique though, Johnny and the others intimidate her.

The preps don’t really care for Abigail. They thinks she’s weird and want nothing to do with her. Although, some members are a bit more empathetic towards her.

Abigail is relentlessly targeted by the bullies. This is why she is prone to shutting down. Everything she does in front of them is mocked. They have made her self esteem crumble, and she’s even embarrassed to talk about any of her interests because of them.

BONUS: Abigail is favored by the prefects. She will run errands for them and tattle when she sees something bad happening. She stays close to the prefects on their patrols because she knows students won’t bother her when she’s near them. In a way, she’s friends with them.

2024 EP. I listened to their newest track 'House of Light' and jumped back into their latest EP. They still play so fast and brutal. This is a really quick EP, but it hits on everything needed; even the guitar solo that rips on track 3, Ultimate Sentience.' The only thing that holds it back is the artwork, they could do better especially when compared to their earlier covers.

I reviewed their 2021 album and didn't like it so much, but this is a significant improvement in my opinion from that; I'm looking forward to their full LP. They released a single this year so I'm hoping that it should come soon.

Misery Is The River Of The World (Tom Waits) -> this is one of the songs i labeled Weird Songs (TM). also know it because of the x files. it's so weird. i love it. also the line "if there's one thing you can say about mankind / there's nothing kind about man". like. ouch? and it's a super dark spin and not true but if you look at what the people in power do it's also not that far fetched :) but it goes on "you can drive out nature with a pitch fork / but it always comes crawling back again"

5. Damnation Flame (Amaranthe) -> yo this song FUCKS and it gives me Evil!Weir vibes

Based on what is shown in the film, a former Vietnam combatant who apparently did not have much of a role in that historic armed conflict, if he was in Vietnam at all, chooses to work as a taxi driver at night as a form of therapy and paid entertainment, during his daily work he is close to the people who use his service as a taxi driver, he meets people he despises, and people he chooses to get close to, specifically the female public, and at that moment an electoral campaign was taking place for choose who would be the candidate for president of the United States of America, during the film he decides to do something to give a new direction to that everyday life, ...

In the mid-seventies, punk rock existed and advanced, getting more space, the film industry did not ignore that artistic and urban manifestation expressed mainly by rock music and mentioned it at least in the visual and even in the content and essence of punk songs in least two relevant films, Blade Runner (1982) and Taxi Driver (1976).

Both films are consistent with the era in which they were made, and remain relevant.

Watch both films and check if what I wrote here is valid.

I vaguely remember that before the film existed, the name Vangelis related to the term 'progressive rock' reached my ears, in high school I was friends with a neighbor who worked in a nearby record store and he collected records in his room from the apartment where he lived with his parents, he often called me to visit imported record stores. Jiang Cheng was recruiting cultivators alone and was already fighting in the Sunshot campaign with his newly rebuilding sect when WWX was 'missing'. WWX's presence boosted recruitment but by no means was it entirely because of WWX that LP got rebuilt. He was drunk half the time and did not help train any of the new recruits after the campaign & was growing very distant.

Jiang Cheng does not know WQ and WN were responsible for half the shit they did because he was unconscious for most of it. Also, returning your parents' dead bodies but doing nothing when they were actively killed and isn't worthy of praise. Like that is the bare minimum. A lot of what you're saying doesn't apply because we the audience know of WQ & WN's motives. We know why WWX did what he did but most of the other characters don't which is why things turned out so horribly in the first place. We are limited to WWX's POV on things & what he knows. So we have to work through that to figure out what the other characters are aware of.

Jiang Cheng, on-page and on-screen has tried to defend WQ & WN. He spoke up saying they were allying themselves with the Sunshot campaign and tried to speak out. But he got firmly shut down by JGS and NMJ. LXC have somewhat lacklustre support. LWJ was present during this meeting but he said nothing.

The people who died in LP were also innocent. I never said JC was totally innocent or brave, nor did I saw WWX was in any way wrong. I made that post to make people consider JC's perspective. I am aware he is morally grey and he was wrong for telling WWX to abandon the Wens.

But JC is fresh out of the destruction of Lotus Pier where he lost everyone. Not just his close family, but every single YMJ member. His duty is to his clan, that is what he will protect. I've stated this to others but The Wen remnants being entirely innocent and made up full of the weak, the old and the young was a thing in the show, not the books. The book states they were all dressed simply and could be mistaken for simple farmers but there were cultivators among them.

None of the great sects messed with WWX and his camp BECAUSE of the staged fight with JC where they had a mutual agreement that WWX was defecting. They didn't have a fight, because there was no active action on any of their parts. It wasn't because the great sects thought WWX could defeat all of them. He wasn't messing with them, so they didn't do anything back.

Lanling Jin initiated the attack, but what news would JC be delivered? That WWX used one of his puppets to kill his brother-in-law. No one knew WWX was losing control, especially not JC. JC was fully under the impression WWX had control over his powers (he asks him that when JYL dies).

If you read the book, it's very obvious there is hierarchy amongst the clans. Like this is a key theme in the story. It's the reason why the Sunshot campaign even happened. The hierarchy went something like: Wen > Jin > Nie > Jiang = Lan with a lot of shuffling throughout the story.

The Jiang sect was at the bottom of the totem pole after the Wens' attack. Like I'm not pulling this out of my ass, there are multiple discussions about how the Jin sect are trying to be the new Wen sect and take hegemony. The reason why WWX was condemned and asked to submit to Jin sect was power play and no one wanted the Jiang sect to have that power. It's not even desirable power because Demonic Cultivation was highly looked down upon due to how it mistreats dead bodies. Politically speaking, the Jiang sect had minimal power against the remaining three sects. WWX's DC and the LP alone could never have taken on the rest of the sects. It's impractical, and frankly wasteful.

All of the sects just emerged from a long, long battle and need rebuilding from the destruction. Insinuating another war is just self-destruction, especially when LP lacks the resources the Wen used to have.

Sticking to just the "black and white" text of MDZS, or any text, is unwise, because there are themes and underlying stories spelled out in the subtext. WWX's narrative is limited third-person, we don't know what they people around him feel.

Idk why you assumed me asking for reader to reframe the way they thought about JC immediately means a) absolving him of all his wrongdoings b) arguing somehow he is fully in the right c)that WWX is somehow in the wrong.

This is not an attack on WWX's decisions or disparaging WQ or WN or anyone really. I am simply asking to look at the story from the POV of another character. Jiang Cheng is morally grey at best, lighter side of grey considering the rest of the cast.

Okay but suppose he DID side with WWX at every turn? Then what?

WWX was eventually going to lose control of his DC. He was going to grievously injure or hurt someone. The mere presence of WN would be a threat because like despite him being a good character, the means of his return are cruel and unnatural to the norms of their society and frankly, immoral in its own way considering the beliefs about reincarnation and the rituals around death in this setting.

The Jin Sect always wanted to take down WWX. If he was in LP, they would've just staged the whole Jin Zixun thing in Yunmeng and launched an attack there instead. The Wen remnants would've died, except now the LP sect members are also dying and Jiang Cheng loses fucking everything. WWX also loses everything here btw. WWX is very aware of what his presence will do in LP. It's why they have that mutually agreed fake fight and defection.

It's not as easy as "JC should've done this" "WWX should've done that". There's no right answer.

Hey have we tried reframing Jiang Cheng not supporting the Wen Remnants as instead Jiang Cheng trying to keep whatever is left of his sect safe? Like the man's first thoughts were not "let's go kill them", that didn't happen until JYL's death. Why is JC the bad guy for wanting to restore his home? WWX and JC mutually split up responsibility on who each of them are going to protect and were bantering like they usually do after like why is JC the bad guy for wanting to protect his family's legacy?
