Like, I've never been a huuuuuge fan of Evil!Mercy AU's because mostly they seemed either like... made by people who were determined to hate her to begin with or made by people who just have the very willfully ignorant and boring assumption that "Good is boring." I'm not saying it couldn't be done in the hands of a writer who really knew what they were doing, but for the most part it was being done by people who just kind of put me off of the concept altogether because for me, a major interesting point of Mercy's character is the burnout of trying to put good out into the world and repeatedly being screwed over by it, and Mercy turning evil just seemed like a gross, obvious, and oversimplified approach to that.
That being said, I think what this new battlepass season has revealed to me, is the other secret reason why I don't like Evil!Mercy AU's: Listening to Lucie Pohl try and sound genuinely evil as Mercy makes me cringe.
Like it's one thing if she's being silly and theatrical about it in Mercy's Witch and Devil skins but "ooogh I'm so scary" just... really doesn't land with the Mercy voice for me.

Tenhle divnej barak. V noci je tu spousta zvuku. Jako by tu neco davnyho porad zustavalo, podivne ulpivalo v parketach. Jeste se nestalo vsechno.
Rikam - nekdy necham hada zajit k sobe hodne blizko.

9, 25, & 101 for the book asks, please! 😊
(9) Favorite book of 2020
That was definitely The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins.
I legit had no idea Suzanne Collins was writing another Hunger Games book, and when I randomly found it at Walmart, I lost my shit. I then prompty bought it and read it in one sitting.
Lucy Gray Baird is a queen and I love her.
(25) A book by your favorite author
I have several favorite authors, but for this question, I'm going to go with Stephen King and say The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon.
Super underrated book, and one I would recommend even if you're not a big King fan. It's about a little girl who wanders off while hiking with her family and gets lost in the woods.
It's utterly terrifying and heartbreaking just watching this poor girl try to survive on her own with the limited knowledge and supplies that she has.
And then you realize there's something following her…
(101) A book set in a school
The Grimrose Girls by Laura Pohl. I just finished reading it recently.
It takes place at a boarding school in central Europe, and deals with a set of friends trying to solve the mystery of their friend's death, only to realize they may be caught up in a curse that causes the girls to die in ways inspired by fairy tales.
It wasn't my favorite book ever, but it gave me the single most gruesome death I've read in a book in the last ten years, so well done there.
~
Thanks for the asks, Hailey! <3

An Inspiring Earth Day Art Exhibition: arbre/moi Chalet Bellevue, 27 Bellevue Road, Morin-Heights, QC J0R 1H0 April 20 - April 23, 2024, 10:30 am - 4 pm Opening reception: Friday, April 19, 2024 4pm - 7 pm Refreshments A free family event
The participants of arbre/moi invite you to see the art they have created celebrating their love of trees. The connection between people and trees is the inspiration for this art and nature project organized by Morin Heights artist, Elizabeth Whalley. Over the course of a year the participants, who have come from many corners of the MRC des Pays-d’en-Haut and beyond, gathered in workshops and independently created artworks and texts.
Like a forest of trees, the participants are interconnected and yet each is unique. Claudel Lacroix and Shirley Metka evoke family ties and a sense of place. Sharon Goldberg and Marie-Françoise Condamin remember a loved one. Jana Novy, Claire Contant and Jocelyne Annereau Cassagnol celebrate the vitality and evolving forms of trees. Marci Babineau and Léo Cóté, Rossy L. Fuentes and Holly Blenkhorn immerse us in the timeless life cycles of nature. Kim and Nadia Bertrand show the beauty and symbolic force of trees while Lilija Gedvila and Sylvie Duval explore their expressive abstraction. John Pohl, Monique Bélisle and Joanne Hayes share their close observations of trees. Rachel Gagnon and Brigitte Simon find the spirit of the tree in the wood itself while Lawrence Bass and Hélène Lemyre discover it in anthropomorphic trunks and branches. Carole Beaudet, Chantale Royer, Nuri Alcala, Diane Brodeur, Julie Marcoux, Mélanie Chartrand, Magali Ross, Andréanne Ouellet, Alain Durepos, Richard Petitclerc, Lucy Lafontaine, Ginette Pelletier and Sandra Kowalski imaginatively channel the tree spirit. Diane Viau, Louise Ladouceur and Jo-Anne Edger powerfully project the life force of the whole, dynamic forest.
The participants thank the Fonds culture et patrimoine de la MRC des Pays-d’en-Haut, the Municipality of Morin Heights, the Bibliothèque Claude-Henri-Grignon (Sainte-Adèle), the Bibliothèque de Saint-Sauveur, the Morin Heights Municipal Library, the Bibliothèque municipale of Wentworth-North, Galerie L’Apostrophe, L’Échelon des Pays-d’en-Haut, and the Biodiversity sub-committee of the EAC of Morin-Heights.

John Cena posts Overwatch 2 teaser amid crossover rumors
An Overwatch 2 John Cena collaboration looks more likely than ever right now, as the professional wrestler turned actor shares a cryptic post to his Instagram page amid rife speculation about an upcoming Overwatch 2 character. As we head towards the Overwatch 2 season 6 release date, many streams of the Blizzard FPS game have been interrupted by a mysterious figure ‘hacking’ into their broadcast to tease the Overwatch 2 Invasion update. The ‘hack’ shows a mysterious hooded figure, who seems to go by the name Enigma. As players have begun to pick apart the various details that have shown up, they all point in one direction: WWE superstar John Cena, also known for his roles in movies including Bumblebee, Trainwreck, and the Fast and Furious series. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGK17tTsG78 HTML-style code seen on the stream of Nathan ‘KarQ’ Chan and shared by Reddit user Umarrii includes the font family ‘Felix-Antony’ (Cena’s two middle names), a shortened URL that links to an image simply reading ‘JC,’ and the color code ‘#042377’ – which translates simply to April 23, 1977, the day Cena was born. Of course, while speculation is running wild, there’s been no official confirmation from Blizzard as yet. However, as the prophecies foretold, “The Champ is here:” Cena himself has now delivered a very up-front tease via his own Instagram account. With no additional comment, Cena shares a seemingly random image of Overwatch being played. Given his propensity for very bizarre and off-the-wall posts on the social media platform, it might be easy to write this off under normal circumstances as Cena just being Cena, but this time he leaves a clear paper trail to follow. The screenshot is actually a link to an official ‘Overwatch 2 dev hang’ on Blizzard’s channel, with a specific timestamp to 1:12:05 mark. Jump to that moment in the stream, and you’ll hear Overwatch 2 developers are talking to several big streamers about some of the crossovers and collaborations they’d love to see in the game. The pieces seem to all be right there – suggesting, in the most likely case, that Cena will be providing the voice for mysterious hacker Enigma in the upcoming story content. Who better for an ominous, behind the scenes mastermind than mister “You can’t see me,” after all? Of course, with nothing yet officially confirmed and Cena’s own love of winding up his fans, it’s worth keeping a grain of salt to hand for now. Until we have more official news, take a look through our Overwatch 2 tier list and we guarantee you’ll Never Give Up in your ranked games again. You also won’t want to miss our interview with Overwatch 2’s Mercy actor Lucie Pohl, where she shares what the iconic character means to her. The GH spoilers recap for Friday, July 1, 2022, features Sasha Gilmore Corbin getting some pills from her photographer ‘friend’ and things only got worse from there. GH Spoilers Recap Highlights After Felty (Brian Norris) got Sasha some pills that didn’t even seem recognizable to her, she promised him that backstage press pass and made her way over to the Deception office. When Maxie Jones (Kristen Storms) and Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) told her the script for her TV appearance segment was changing, she freaked out and popped a pill when nobody was watching. As Maxie and Lucy put pressure on her by reassuring her how great she is and how she would show the world that on TV, Sasha freaked out some more. After she composed herself, Maxie and Lucy left and Sasha popped one more pill before joining them on their trek to the station. Uh-oh. General Hospital Recap: Brook Lynn Turned To Sonny With Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) lamenting his latest PCPD suspension status to Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) and Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton), Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) took it upon himself to ask Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) to have a talk with Linc Brown (Dan Buran). Sonny told her if the word got out on the street, people would think Chase was a crooked cop. However, he can use his influence with the civilian review board. At the Metro Court Gardens, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) lamented her own problems to Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero). She turned down Olivia’s offer to use Ned Quartermaine’s (Wally Kurth) money to buy Carly’s half of the hotel from the hedge fund, but when Sonny showed up, Olivia suggested she ask him for the money. GH Spoilers Recap: All About Esme As Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) and Ava Jerome (Maura West) discussed their odd divorce with Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner), Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) showed up and feigned shock at all of this, asking Nikolas if he told Ava everything. She then covered and said she knew that Nikolas was thinking of a separation. When Esme got Nikolas alone, she kinda-sorta insinuated she would maybe tell Ava the truth, so Nikolas agreed to help her get her internship back at Spring Ridge. When Nikolas returned to the table, Ava decide she didn’t want to rush the divorce. At Kelly’s, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) told Cameron Webber (William Lipton) that Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) had found Esme’s real mother and Cameron believed him. Spencer then admitted if Cameron fell for it, so would Esme. He wants to offer her the ‘truth’ while getting her to confess what she did to Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali). Spener also wanted Cameron to help him get a hold of Carly and Josslyn Jacks’s (Eden McCoy) DNA so he would have mother-daughter DNA to make this trick look authentic. As they put their plan into action, Esme showed up at the Metro Court pool and wondered what was going on. [ Source link

Mosbacher Sommer - Open Air Kino
Tumblr media
