do you guys think scaras handwriting would be neat or messy?

to me, he has always come off as a perfectionist, so I feel like that would definitely apply to his handwriting as well. like ik his penmanship is crazy. maybe a little too crazy. sometimes he gets carried away with trying to make his letters pretty that they're almost unintelligible type of crazy, and he would hate you for not being able to read it but it's literally not your fault that he's tryharding (yes it is. why else do you think he would put extra care than usual into his handwriting when it's only meant for you to read?).

he doesn't want his letters to look like slop but he accidentally overdoes it, which does look pretty at first glance, but then you actually try to read it and there's too many loops, it's a bit messy and a little too slanted. there are imperfections in his perfectionism and it's something he hates but it's so endearing that you can't help but laugh a little, to which he promptly sighs and mumbles little jabs at you (that he really doesn't mean, but you already know that), before he begrudgingly takes the paper from your hands and reads it to you in slight embarrassment.

and you really can't complain because there's nothing more comforting than the soft sound of his smooth voice :)

As a funfact for y'all, you know how Peso has a Latino accent in the US version of the show, right?

Turns out there's a part of Antarctica that belongs to Argentina and also another one that belongs to Chile, which are both countries that belong to South America and are considered Latino countries. And yup, i researched, there are penguins who live in both of them. Funny thing? These countries' native currencies are called "Peso". Argentine Peso and Chilean Peso, but they're both called Peso.

The creators actually researched and named Peso after the currency intentionally and i'm dying. 😭✨‼️

As a Latina, i already knew this, but i thought i might as well share this piece of information to y'all because YES. Might make an in-depth post abt this later btw, especifically about how the education system works in both of those countries and an approximate age of how old Peso would be (or is) if he graduated from his Medical School THERE.

I personally headcanon that Peso is from Chile, but that's just me being biased because The Octonauts' VA'S from the Latin Spanish dubs are Chilean lol- (I'm neither from Chile or Argentina but the fact that the VA'S are Chilean makes me headcanon that 😭) (Most of the VA'S from the Latin Spanish dub of The Octonauts also worked for the Latin Spanish dub of Avatar: The Last Airbender, just another lil' funfact).

Anyways, enough rambling, this whole thing was pretty interesting to investigate even though i knew most of it (but i managed to investigate in a more in-depth manner) ngl.

I have a random question about nesta as a girl who grew up overly pushed and forced into "feminine perfection" by her mom, how did she experience the realization that she couldnt fulfill those toxic expectations that her mom forced on her because of her own trauma and the what the cauldron did to her? Not me asking bc of my own mommy issues lmao sorry if you already talked abt this here! Also idk if i made any sense wiith this question in my head i did

euge my darling i could kiss you on the mouth. i've been sitting on this ask for like 2 weeks now because it's just so juicy and i've been wanting to do it (and nesta) justice in how i answer it with regards to my portrayal.

honestly? i don't think nesta HAS come to this realization. and i say this because i don’t think she is in a space mentally or emotionally to understand that those expectations ARE toxic. certainly not in a canon world LMAO but not really in my interpretation either. i think that the rotten roots that her mother dug into her at such a young age are so deep that it will likely take decades for nesta to really even understand just how badly she's been harmed. and the canon treatment she receives at the hands of the IC absolutely does not go far in mending the mindset she's been brainwashed into either.

i mean. people can talk about how prythian doesn't uphold the patriarchal ideals that the human world does because it's an entirely different culture and species but the fact of the matter is that that's just complete bogus. men rule prythian. and you can argue that amarantha was in charge and blah blah blah the human queens blah blah blah but the fact of the matter is, tamlin wasn't putting feyre down when he told her there weren't high ladies among the fae. he was simply stating a fact. viviane of winter court (arguably an incredible leader considering the winter court did not sway under amarantha's rule while kallias was under the mountain) was clearly slighted when rhysand made feyre the first high lady.

and don't even get me started on the treatment of illyrian women. the abuse that those young girls and women are subjected to by illyrian men (rhysand's people!) is very close to the treatment that nesta expects as someone who grew up knowing that her only fate, the only role she would fit into, was that of a submissive wife to ensure her family's care. that those women are being violated so horribly because it's "tradition" just further proves to her that safety is not an option. that freedom is not an option.

all that to say, nesta can't break out of those expectations because she doesn't have the tools or the knowledge to be able to do it. not even when she goes to live in the supposedly amazing world of the fae that her baby sister so dearly loves. she is forced into “fae ideals” which are not far off from what she’s already familiar with. she is “promised” (mated) to a man for the “good of her family” (the IC/rhys/feyre) whether she wants to be or not and “society” (the IC) expects her to stay quiet and accept it and do it beautifully and to stop being in pain so loudly. because that’s feminine perfection of course!

i think that. even if she DID realize this. she would be in deep denial. lune and i are giving nessian the story that they deserve, but trauma is trauma. and like i said it’s going to take a long time for nesta to uncover how badly she’s been hurt for so long. but even just uncovering it won’t “fix” or help her. there are so many layers to the way her mother’s expectations cut away at her (and continue and will continue to do so!).

i believe nesta knows her mother was cruel, but she wouldn’t believe she’s been harmed without reason. which is why, even realizing that the expectations foisted on her were terrible and she couldn’t meet them if she really tried, she would simply be devastated that she could fail so badly. because that’s all she does in her own eyes, you know? she failed her mother, she failed her sisters, she failed her father, she fails cassian, she fails herself. she wouldn't think, "gee i shouldn't have been treated like shit like that", she'd think, "wow i can't believe i became high fae and i still can't manage to take care of my fucking family". i think it would be a setback in her healing and she’d have to climb those stairs too.

The reason Lune's hair floats is that they use magic to get it out of their face! They like the swish of it (I've never animated it but it's supposed to flow and ripple like water). And they cast a spell every day to get it the way they like even tho other moon spirits (including their childhood friend) may think it's a waste of effort

Sol also uses his own vanity magic! The second he wakes up he forms his crown of light and keeps it throughout the day, even though it's a bit of a strain without his voice to keep the spell going. He also likes to look prim and princely (and has like a 20-step morning routine), but doesn't bother with his hair since it's a lost cause, much to his chagrin

When I was at the height of my Pokemon fixation (which is still going strong), I decided Lune should have a Jirachi and Sol should have a shiny Larvesta (as this was back when I thought Larvesta/Volcarona were minor legendaries and now they're normal pokemon sdoifjwo). They would also have a Solrock and Lunatone of course!!

A friendo once asked for corrupted Lune and who am I to disagree. They would unfortunately ditch their usual cosmos cloak (which they made with their mom's help) and instead have a coat of sunlight

Other random info includes that Lune has never seen the eye Sol covers with his hair and doesn't know if he even has one under there. Sol got the scratch through his eyebrow when he fell as a clumsy kid but likes to lie and say he got it in battle so Lune thinks he's cool. And Lune's favorite food is juice but they get embarrassed that it's childish so they don't mention it (Sol knows the truth tho)

What do you think, why did Sohone become the way he is? And maybe he has problems with self-esteem? If yes, then why?

It's been a while since I've answered these Sohone-focused asks! I'm sorry for the delay, good ol' ADHD left me neglecting Tumblr for a while ^^;; But oooh, honestly I've never thought to deep-dive Sohone's character so much... I mean, he probably does have some deeper self-esteem issues, especially given his initial envy towards Mune's more naturally caring (and "lady attracting") demeanor compared to his own. I do wish we had more knowledge on his character's backstory, though if we want to get into full headcanons, I can come up with a theoretical one! The first time we're introduced to him, it's portrayed that he'd dedicated his life and prepared restlessly to become the Guardian of the Sun. While the way one is chosen as a candidate (or rather THE candidate) as a guardian isn't explored, but maybe that's something that is chosen at birth? Or maybe it's something like a competition in early life, where the day and night folk can pursue education in learning the history and responsibilities of their respective guardian if they want to become one. As for how they test if someone is worthy... Well, strength is most definitely one of the trials. Admittedly, with Sohone's behaviour (a more "brawns over brain" type), I wonder how many intelligence and knowledge-based trails are included too, and how he might have passed them. With his "gifted kid" vibe, maybe favouritism and popularity came into play; I could see it being a "the people choose who they want to be the next guardian" situation, especially given how well known and fawned over he is.

Given that, perhaps he was forced into it as a kid; parents who wanted their child to be the next guardian, because they missed their chance and wanted to live through him. Impressionable and young, he assumed that's just what he was destined for, the highest honour, his purpose. With so much praise, especially for his strength, it got to his head, and thus he ended up the character we see in the movie.

This is all VERY theoretical and a little stereotypical of a backstory for a character of his type, but it could be plausible? That's my best guess, anyways!
