Ah, no, no, I have not 😅 and no worries, life gets us all, doesn't it ~

Well, Godzilla au is... Not about Godzilla at all. But I was inspired after watching Godzilla: Minus One and realised this is the kind of story I want to tell, this is something I would like to try my hand in, so to speak. It's Weilan derivs and it's Luolin (Lin Nansheng/Luo Fei), and it's my longfic du jour.

It's happening post-canon for both of the men involved and for the first time, there is no divergence here at all: this time, even if it pains me, it's canon compliant and so just in case someone is reading this and doesn't want spoilers, I shan't share any more 😅

But So -

secret idea for this month's guardian bingo bonus prompt (animal transformations) - if i can make time when not drawing - if not i'll write it anyway, but too late for the july square.

weilan derivative- LuoLin missing person/memory situation (i do love these two, just having a hard time piecing their worlds together in a way that i like)

an old xxxholic fic i started making notes for and deleted yeeeeeears ago, but which still pesters me occasionally (if anyone knows what i'm talking about i detest the writers for spinning off into oblivion with that story while also trying to force it into another bloated and unfinished world). one of these days i'll probably reread the books and write something out in a frustrated huff.

that's really all i can retain right now - i am marathoning this music and drawing mashup that i really hope will be a massively obtrusive plug to get people to read the associated fic i poured the shredded bits of my heart into over the past year. HAa

Can I list anything not vaguely Guardian-related atm???? Eeeehm why not: QINGYA (Qingming and Boya, from The Yin Yang Master: Dream of Eternity specifically), bc how can you not ship it when the shipname is literally in the Chinese title of the movie (晴雅集).

First ship ever: ooooomf you think i remember that? probably sth Tolkien-related? Glorestor (Glorfindel/Erestor) perhaps? idk.....

Last song you heard: uuuuuhm Poor Unfortunate Souls from the Little Mermaid (but specifically the OG Broadway Cast version)

Favourite childhood book: ohhh there is too many to choose :((( I will just list a few. De Wereld van Sofie by Jostein Gaarden (printed originally in Norwegian, but I read it in Dutch, hence the Dutch title. Iit really turned my world upside down when I was eight.) Secondly Mark Tijsmans's De Ridders van de Ronde Keukentafel (which I guess was my first experience with the Major Character Death rating, at around the same age. I remember crying so hard.) I loved the Grey Ranger series by John Flanagan also (also read in Dutch, obviously). And definitely also The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series by Michael Scott, which my aunt recommended to me. I'll stop now.

Currently reading: actively? nothing. technically I'm still halfway into the first volume of MDZS, but i have been for over a year so... I still need to finish Yu Hua's Brothers also, bc my high school Chinese teacher gifted that book to me (signed by the translator even) upon graduation (5 years ago) and I never finished it because it's sooooo long and I keep getting distracted, and I feel vaguely guilty about still not having finished it.

Currently watching: Parallel World!!! Which I'm having a blast with. Bai Yu and Ni Ni are sooo much fun together. But I briefly interrupted it to finally watch Shadow and Bone. I'm gonna get back to Parallel World soon though.

Currently consuming: nothing. though I should probably get myself something to drink soon. It'll be lunch time in like half an hour. I'll do it then.

Currently craving: not really anything? I think? More sleep probably, but that is an always problem.

No Expectations Boulevard - ZYLBY48s, Cyberpunk/Blade Runner-inspired AU one-shot I wrote for @the-marron (this story then spawned more). Mo Sanmei/Hou Hao - a fateful meeting between a gruff funeral director and a runaway pleasure android. Atmospheric. Angsty, if you think about it.

Running forward despite the wind and rain｜栉风沐雨也要向前奔跑 - ZYLBY48s, the second chapter in my Mo Sanmei/Qiao Yicheng “two middle-aged uncles fall in love and have lots of ordinary but difficult problems” series. Angst with a happy ending. Also for @the-marron. ;)

We Both Know How This Ends - ZYLBY48s, depressing post-war interaction between two former(?) spies, but they’re in love. My first serious attempt at LuoLin. Severe angst.

Sentiment - ZYLBY48s, hanahaki angst-fic, full of unrequited love and multi-faceted interactions. One-sided Luo Qingeng/Luo Fei. Somehow, miserable stories are so much easier and more fun to write?

Sorry about the blood in your mouth, I wish it was mine - long-ass The Merciless canon-compliant romantic angst-fic. I’m very proud of finishing this one, bc usually with fics that long, it takes me like half a decade to finish it, but this one took me from 2021-12-23 to 2022-01-03 - and it’s 11180 words! Go me.

Oof, this one is hard... I don’t know whether I’ve made much progress - maybe the flow has improved? The grammar, definitely. Uhhhh,,, maybe more variety of genre, too: I wrote some sci-fi, some fluff.
