(TW: brief mention of abuse and sexual abuse!!!)
Cant stop thinking about the fact that in the 9 (10) episode of part 4 Goemon wasn't able to fufill his promise to protect Belladonna (this blonde girl) fully right away
Now, what do i mean by that?
Even through in the moment Goemon was able to save her life, he wasn't able to save her from still getting hurt. And from what followed. Yes, Belladonna didnt have the need to detonate herself, but instead she got a new bomb - this time inside her own body. And who did this to her? The same person who haired her and then abused for god knows how long! (And judging by one of the scenes - maybe even sexually, wich just awful...)
Now, obviously Goemon had no way of knowing that this was happening to her. But still, it is interesting considering what presumably was happening in Goemons life at thw time. Judging by the fact that he still worked as an assassin, he probably was still abused by Mamochi (considering the fact that part 5 had references to both Goemons first appearance and season four - i would say it is very likely!!) or someone else in his life or at the very least was alone in this world, without someone to rely on, viewed as just a disposable tool to eliminate people with by his client, without much experience in life outside of his training and without much direction in life. Basically - he was in a pretty bad place himself
But by the time they meet again, in the present day, he is in a better place now and so is his mind. He has met Lupin and Jigen, he isn't someone's instrument anymore, his life has changed significantly and, i believe, so did Goemon himself. And now he was able to finally fufill hes promise, freeing her from a monster who abused her and giving her a chance to live a normal life
I know that im reading too much into this
But still
I think this is very interesting
Sorry for the long post again 💦

I HAVE A QUESTION!!
Lupin Zero is produced by the guy who produced Part 4 & 5, right?
So it’s in the same timeline? As in he grows up from Lupin Zero to the guy in Pt:4&5?
So what about the whole
Huge
Massive
Incredibly important
Face mask scene? With Fujiko? At the end of Part 5?
WHATS THE DEAL WITH THAT?!? IS IT STILL A THING? IT SEEMED IMPORTANT? SOO

so i recently rewatched part 4 w my good friend luke and we noticed something i havent seen other people bring up ever that fujiko in the ending is dressed to match wataru's design (rebecca's fiancé)
the similarities are pretty self evident so ill just add a couple more pictures that show the outfits in full
notice the near-identical palette, the same cuffed jeans, the same dark rectangular glass frames, and down to the same hair color and curls !! fujikos hair is very rarely drawn black in the anime and the only other time it happens in part 4 it has strong, specific symbolism tied to it. and this fujiko outfit thats identical to wataru's is the last shot of the ending its there for every episode. they were insane for this
