what works best for me when it comes to a soft look or makeup in general is using products as little as possible because you want to make sure your skin looks natural. skip the full coverage and go for something more sheer coverage that you can build up!

now, i personally don’t wear foundation unless i’m getting a full beat (which i actually hate on me) and i also don’t contour my face because i naturally have a defined face so adding contour on top of it can easily make me look crazy lmao i use bronzer instead, it’s more subtle and less sharp!

this is my makeup routine when i do wear makeup and all i ever use on my face is concealer, powder, bronzer & blush with all the products listed. hope that helps! 💕💗🩷💖

Whats your favorite lipstick??

LOVE this ask however I don’t really use traditional lipsticks…. Traditional lipsticks I DO like are MAC lustreglass lipsticks, hourglass unlocked satin crème lipstick, NARS sensual shine lipstick, and the Dior addict lipstick. I like my lipsticks super hydrating with a satin finish so my lips can be soft and blurry (:

However my favorite lip products are highly pigmented tinted balms, and my FAVES are the YSL rouge volupte shine balm and the kosas wet stick. Glossier’s ultra lip is rlly nice too but I don’t love their color range. The Chanel rouge coco balm is soooo nice too 🩷🩷 Charlotte tilbury’s happikiss balm was my fave for suchhhh a long time but I find it a little sticky and thick now. Fenty beauty’s slip shine lipstick in retro rose is my FAVE color and the formula is sooooo lovely too … refy lip blush specifically in the shade canyon is an instant fave too

Also honorable mention to Chanel’s rouge allure powder because that was my ONLY lip product for such a long time and I’m obsessed with it but they DONT MAKE IT ANYMORE 💔💔💔💔

M·A·C LUSTRE LIPSTICK

From what I've found online, this particular lipstick line was discontinued— or at least rebranded as M·A·C LUSTREGLASS SHEER-SHINE LIPSTICK.

But before that happened, one of the lipstick I love using is the M·A·C LUSTRE LIPSTICK - MILAN MODE (A76).

It is a very fun shade, as it is very, very pink lol

LOTD: MAC Retro Matte Lipstick in Eternal Teddy with Too Faced Lip Injection Lip Gloss in Say My Name. #Scentoftheday Fame Intense EDP by Rabanne.

Day 7, final day of my first impressions reviews and today it's the MAC lipstick. I tried the Lustreglass version from this collection the last time I was reviewing new items. I also went on a major MAC rant, so shall refrain from that this time! This is a Retro Matte formula, which didn't drag, but didn't glide as smoothly over the lips as I'd have liked. There looks to be less red in Eternal Teddy than Ready Teddy from the side-by-side image above (and more brown in it). On the lips, it did look a reddish brown and comparing it to selfies I took when wearing the Lustreglass, the Retro Matte is just deeper and more dense looking because of the finish having less sheen and more depth. It's nice enough, but not my favourite formula in the world.

Swatches above as always, swatched several times on bare skin with no light/colour edits made.

The perfume I'm trying today is the latest in the Fame line-up, an intense version with a gold dress. There was the original (silver) Fame EDP, Blooming Pink (pink dress, but same original Fame fragrance inside), the black was Fame Parfum EDP, which was supposed to be a more intense, longer lasting version of the original and now Intense, which is...also intense?! I find so many perfumes these days are misleading with their releases, do we need 3 EDP's of the same fragrance or should it be a new stand-alone release? Often they'll say one is lighter, one heavier etc and you find little to no connection with the original scent. Also the smallest size in these (30ml, mine here is a miniature), all look the same. They look like this mini, glass with no silver/black/gold dress. How can you tell them apart? The juice varies ever so slightly, but then you'd need them all to compare, plus perfume changes colour over time.

Anyway, Fame Intense EDP by Paco Rabanne is a Floral/Woody/Musk fragrance which launched in 2024 and was created by Dora Baghriche, Alberto Morillas, Fabrice Pellegrin and Marie Salamagne. The notes are listed on Fragrantica as Jasmine, Sandalwood and Incense with no top, middle and bottom specified.

I found this very woody, a creamy sandalwood. I didn't get the incense (was expecting church pew vibe) and felt it was missing that juicy mango of the original in amongst all the woodiness. I found it very dense and strong at first, though it didn't project much (however I should note I was using a dab-on mini bottle rather than spray). I think it could be headache inducing. I just found it too heavy.

Morphe Continuous Setting Mist is one of my fav setting mists!

I use a mix of CeraVe, The Ordinary, and Good Molecules for skincare! The Cerave cleansers and daily lotion have become my non-negotiables, if u dont already have a skincare routine i recommend them

The LANIEGE Lip Sleeping Mask works so well and is def worth the splurge, but it has a scent so if sickeningly sweet scents give you a headache it might be best to stay away from the sweet candy version

I just use Kroger Brand micellar cleansing water as a makeup remover, but I recommend Garnier's! Especially this rose water and glycerin one (which i think lyn might already have LMFAO)

Cleansing balm is a bit more expensive but honestly works a little better than the micellar cleansing water and it doesn't take much product to get a clean face, my fav is the e.l.f cleansing balm

For pimple spot treatment, I use neutrogena rapid clear

My dermatologist told me to use the dove beauty bars since bar soap doesn't dry your skin out like liquid soap and it is SO GOOD, i use those alongside my philosophy 3-in-1 as an exfoliator + extra wash

It's the last of my first impressions reviews (sorry there's been delays, it's taken longer than I expected to compile each post). So, I'll be honest, I don't know what's going on with MAC in the UK at the moment. They're not trying, I'll tell you that. The Lunar New Year collection which is always a highlight for me consisted (here) of 2 products, one being a repackaged mascara from the main line. That does not a "collection" maketh in my opinion. Christmas was at best lacklustre and a shambles as usual (the only piece I wanted was the blue sparkling lip balm and of course it didn't launch with everything else and I pulled my hair out speaking to live chat "you can keep checking the 'new in' section", duh, why didn't I think of that). There's so many other products/collections I see on social media that we never even get here (glad I didn't hold my breath for that zodiac range or I wouldn't be here writing this now)! So when I spied these Teddy Forever pieces on Notino months ago and discovered it was a new collection and instead of the MAC website getting it, they wrote a blog post on 'Teddy' products that you could buy, but not the new ones that were clearly supposed to support the blog piece, I just bought them from Notino when I had the chance because I wasn't sure we'd ever get them here.

The packaging looked so lovely (actually it's very light and cheap feeling in person, but pretty looking nonetheless). I bought both lipsticks, a Lustreglass (above left) and Retro Matte (right) and the Lipglass (middle), but didn't get the liquid lip colour and lipliner. There's also a palette for face and eyes (at an eye-watering £49) which MAC do have and then setting spray, mascara and Prep + Prime Lip in special packaging along with a couple of eyeliners, all of which MAC don't appear to be carrying here. It's the lip products I was most interested in anyway. Okay, essay aside, let's get onto that. These products are inspired of course, by Velvet Teddy lipstick, one of MAC's best sellers. I personally feel these are leaning more into Marrakesh than VT though. I was aware of the more reddish tone to them before I bought them. In the swatches I'd say they look a reddish-brown, but in the bullet and on the lips, certainly Ready Teddy (the only one I've tried so far) is more of a brownish-red.

The Lustreglass finish has a glossy-sheen to it and is a little more sheer than other finishes (though I find not as sheer as the older Lustre formula), but the colour was easily built up to opaque. The point of the lipstick seems longer and sharper than older MAC lippies, so it's super precise. The Lipglass in this collection is hella pigmented as you can see, I might need a liner with that one as it's bleeding in the swatches. The gloss/balm I chose to wear with RT actually made the lipstick underneath disappear from everywhere but the edges of my mouth, so I blotted most of it off and reapplied just the lipstick. This post turned into more of a MAC debate than the specific lipstick, but I've needed to get all that off my chest for a good while now, so thank you for making it this far x
