Everyone else in the Good Omens fandom, apparently:
[Image ID: the “I’ve only had Arlo for a day and a half but if anything happened to him I would kill everyone in this room and then myself” meme. Arlo (a small dog) has been replaced by Muriel from Good Omens season 2. Muriel is a nicely-smiling woman-presenting angel who, from what the fandom knows so far, is very innocent and naive. /.End ID]
Me immediately after watching V/H/S/99:
[Image ID: the “I’ve only had Arlo for a day and a half but if anything happened to him I would kill everyone in this room and then myself” meme. Arlo (a small dog) has been replaced by Mabel the Skull Biter from the “To Hell And Back” segment of the movie V/H/S/99. Mabel is a damned soul in some manner of hell dimension, and her smile is less “nice” and more “deeply unsettling”. /.End ID]

I think Mabel the Skull Biter and Medusa from VHS 99 should go on a date and kiss. Just a thought.

V/H/S/99
The Shudder Original V/H/S/99 (2022), latest in the found-footage series, generates a lot of good will with its opening, a youngster’s primitive stop motion video using toy soldiers and other objects to tell of a World War II platoon trapped in a lost land. That’s the tape over which the five stories of varying qualities, many quite imaginative, have been recorded. There’s also a very funny sequence in which the young filmmaker’s older brother takes back the camera to make his own thirst trap flexing video (“Call the vet. These pythons are sick.”) Revenge seems to be the motif of the five stories: for desecrating the site where a punk band was killed, for a sorority hazing, for a game show that maims its young participants, for violating a woman’s privacy and for summoning a demon. The segment with the punk band (written and directed by Maggie Levin) is flashily edited and for once avoids the complaint that the people filming the footage should have dropped the camera long ago. Sonya Eddy gives a formidable performance as the mother of the wounded game show contestant, matched by Steven Ogg as the smarmy host. And the demon segment manages to create a convincing vision of hell on a shoestring budget while also giving us a demon named “Mabel the Skull Biter” (Don’t you wish you had that on your resume?). The other two stories are a little too long, though they deliver some effective endings. This entry in the series is so strong, I almost wish it were the last, but it did so well, Shudder has already announced a sequel for next year.

31 Nights of Halloween Horror: day 21
My choice for yesterday was the newest installment in a series of anthologies, V/H/S/99
I rated this 7/10! Very fun movie! Definitely better than V/H/S Viral was lol. This one has 5 segments within the movie: The Shredding, Suicide Bid, Ozzy’s Dungeon, The Gawkers, and To Hell and Back. Personally, To Hell and Back (especially Mabel the Skull Biter <3) and Suicide Bid were the best clips in this installment. The Gawkers was probably my least favorite. Overall really good though! I enjoyed each short. I definitely recommend this one. Nsfw/Nsfl though lol.
