This is extremely over due & I’m very excited to share with you my top beauty must haves. These are the items I am always using, but not the only items by any means. My make up collection is huge so I tried to break it down to the bare bones of my make up routine. These are the staples I use in every single look I create on myself & some of them I use on clients as well. 

1) Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Rose Oil - this transformed my skin, rose regenerates skin cells & heals, this formula is incredibly hydrating & powerful, all you need is one drop, I wear it at night, my skin feels amazing when I wake up. Skin should always be the first step in any beauty routine because make up cannot fix bad skin. If you work hard at loving your skin with the proper diet & products you will have a beautiful canvas. 

2) Chanel Le Lift eye cream. Good bye dark circles. The le lift cream is an anti-aging & anti-wrinkle lifting cream that I wear day & night. Its by far my favorite out of a lot of different eye creams I have tried because it does more than just hydrate. Being in my early twenties I still think an eye cream is a must have because preventative anti-aging is the only real effective ant-aging. Its much easier to slow down the process of something then fix what has already happened. I wear a shit ton of eye make up, I am constantly pulling on my lids & your eye lids are the most delicate skin. Also being up late staring at my phone screen is not the best for my bags. I want to keep my eyes looking bright & young so I always make sure I have this product on hand. 

3) NARS Velvet Matte Tinted Moisturizer. Being a make up artist at MAC I have to constantly wear a full face of make up. I spend so much time & money on my skin care that to be wearing a heavy foundation often would defeat the purpose. I decided to try out the tinted moisturizer for a lighter option & have never looked back. I wear this with a full face of make up, I wear this by itself, I wear it to work, out, to the gym, you name it. It has great amount of coverage for being a tinted moisturizer & the matte finnish is very smooth & gives my skin a porcelain like texture. I fluctuate between a few shades, I currently wear medium 1. It has an SPF of 30 which is also super important when it comes anti-aging & it stays on all day long. 

4) MAC Mineralize Skin Finnish powder. I wear the shade medium golden. This powder is extremely light weight & adds minimal coverage. It acts as a perfecter to the skin & I use it to blend everything. This is one of the number one products used backstage at New York Fashion week & its because it photographs & captures light so well. The mineral powder is jet-milled so that it doesn’t settle into pores & it smooths over any imperfection. Having dry skin my whole life I never wore powder until I found this one. The mineralize formula helps keep the skin nourished! 

5) MAC Painterly Pro Longwear Paint Pot. This is a cream eyeshadow base that acts as a primer for your eyeshadow & also helps your eyeshadow achieve better color pay off. There are a bunch of different shades that they come in which are awesome for quick eye looks that don’t even require eyeshadow. This one is a basic shade with a pinkish hue that I use as the base for every eye look that I do or if I am just popping on some mascara. 

6) MAC eyeshadow in Grain. This is a subtle shimmer base color that I like to use either all over the lid or just in the center on the lid as a highlight. I use it in almost every eye look that I do. 

7) MAC eyeshadow in Saddle. Saddle is like if caramel sauce were a color. I love warm tones on the eye. This shade is so beautiful in the crease to add dimension & I also like wearing this on the lower lid buffed out with a black eye pencil, it makes are really smokey sexy look.

8) Marc Jacobs gel liner. This is the only eyeliner I have ever worn on my bottom lid that hasn’t run. I also use this inside my water line. It stays on all day & is creamy enough at first to create a beautiful smudged look.

9) Anastasia Brow Wiz. I use the shade caramel. This is the best brow pencil on the market. Anastasia is just the brow queen. 

10) Smashbox liquid felt tip liner. I also use a felt tip liquid liner on my top lid, its easy to clean, its precise, it also gives you the liquid look without being messy. If you haven’t tried using a felt tip for liner I suggest going with this one for sure. The Smashbox liner is my favorite based on the precision & the wearability. I also like Kat Von D’s tattoo liner & MAC penultimate. 

11) Chanel Le Volume mascara. My lashes aren pretty average. They aren’t long or short, they aren’t thick, they aren’t sparse either. They’re pretty boring. I always have a hard time with mascara simply because I hate having to work at it. Le Volume is the only mascara I’ve ever used that made me actually like my lashes. I have tried all the hyped up ones like Better Than Sex from Too Faced & They’re Real from Benefit & all the drugstore cult favorites & this one is literally the only one I care for. My #2 mascara is Upward lash from MAC but my only issue with it is that one tends to clump so I usually have to use a second mascara with it. I also really recommend using an eyelash primer & letting it dry completely before applying mascara. 

12) MAC Prep + Prime under eye highlighter & corrector. I use the shade light boost which has a yellowish tint to it to cancel out any of the dark pigmentation under my eyes. I use this religiously. I apply it after my eye make up & before my NARS velvet matte tinted moisturizer. I blend it with a fluffly brush around my eye to give my eyeshadow a burn out diffused look & I use it to highlight the tops of my cheek bones as well. I describe it as a backlight for your concealer. Some days this is enough alone to conceal underneath the eye & sometimes I layer a concealer over it (I don’t have a current must have concealer). I seriously do not look awake without it, it really brightens the face. This is probably my most important must have!

13) MAC Refined Golden Bronzing Powder. I use this to contour & to bronze my face. I honestly can’t live without bronzer. 

14) MAC Matte Blush in the shade Mocha. This is a shade that looks beautiful on most skin tones & just adds a subtle pop of color to the cheeks. I am not super into blush but I also can recognize that you need a little something on the cheeks. This is my little something. 

15) MAC Ariana Grande Viva Glam II Lipglass. Hands down my favorite lipglass. I need to buy like 10 of these since they won’t be making them anymore since she is no longer Viva Glam ambassador (MAC is infamous for discontinuing products so you should always stock up on what you love). This color is a mauve-nude with a little shimmer to it & looks perfect alone or on top of any lip really. I like a glossy lip vs. a matte lip because its just sexier in my opinion, you look more fresh & I think guys dig it more than little crusty shit painted on your lips. 

16) MAC Boldly Bare lip pencil. I wear this with all my nudes & sometimes I fill my entire lip with it, I like it cause its very similar to my natural lip color with a little peachy hint to it.

MAC Cosmetics’ charitable program Viva Glam recently donated $10 million USD (roughly $14 million CAD) to support vulnerable communities during the coronavirus pandemic — and the local recipients are already making good use of their grants. Globally, UNICEF has partnered with the World Health Organization through the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund. All money collected funnels into training and equipping communities and healthcare workers to prevent, detect and treat COVID-19. Canada’s branch is just as thrilled to be assisting. “UNICEF Canada is deeply grateful to MAC Cosmetics Canada for its commitment to protect the world’s most vulnerable children during the COVID-19 pandemic,” says Linton Carter, chief development officer of UNICEF Canada. “Our global response includes providing critical hygiene and medical supplies, access to continuing education and psychosocial support. We are also working with governments to ensure children have access to health care, including routine vaccination programs.”

With the funds that HelpAge Canada is receiving, they have been able to launch a national appeal to support isolated, low-income seniors in Canada. Preventing loneliness triggered by isolation and fostering healthy, active communities is their aim. “HelpAge Canada is proud to stand alongside our Canadian seniors and provide the safe delivery of food, medications, hygiene products and personal care and to let them know they are loved and are not alone,” HelpAge said in a release, acknowledging that older people are at the highest risk of COVID-19 infection, which has further isolated them from basic necessitiesy. “On behalf of HelpAge Canada, our tireless partners, and seniors everywhere in Canada: Thank you MAC Cosmetics Canada for your generous support!”

So far, they have given approximately 1,000 disaster relief kits to frontline healthcare workers across four Canadian hospitals.

The company has made 240,000 bottles of hand sanitizers thus far, providing 27,000 of them to Canadian hospitals. “Making an impact on the communities in which we live and work is a fundamental part of our DNA. I think I mentioned before the american I fell in love with  – I fell for him because of the unbelievable connection we had, for the words he was telling me, and I was getting swept up in the moment (fast). Then once you are in that moment – you start to force things. When you going to see each other next, the good morning texts, high expectations of your time together or how you going to look when you see each other.

He pulled away from me last year, to the point he was even seeing other women and retracted invitations he once gave me to join him on holiday, for me to visibly see he was spending it with someone else.

He hurt me, but to my own fault I should have just let the law of attraction take it’s course. I take responsibility for crying in front of him, for putting pressure on expectations and the future and assuming we were in a committed relationship.

Don’t force it. What will be, will be. When it is right you will know.

The difference between women and men, is we usually know quite quickly – we have strong instincts. I knew, but he didn’t. I should have let him find out and maybe he would have come back to me faster.  As twelve months later he sat in front of me saying he loved me.  He saw what life was like without me in it, and he appreciated his life with me in it, and now he can’t imagine life without me. (ok he didn’t say this but sometimes you got to believe it’s the things that go unsaid that mean the most)

Men are so so scared of losing their freedom when they meet someone or start to have feelings for someone then usually they do something to sabotage it.

Messages stopped. Instagram posts stopped and I unfollowed him. If I got a message about meeting up, I would say I can’t afford to, I don’t have the money to come to see you anymore. If he tried to reconnect, I would always answer back but never continued the conversations.  No more goodnight, no more good mornings.

Whatever happens with my american, I will take this away with me – never force it, if they want you they will come get you, if it is meant to be it will be.
