Day 1027 - Wednesday, February 1, 2017

Chaguaramas, Trinidad (0 m; 6798 m / 5907 nm total) After Paul made another run over to Budget Marine, we messed around and got the washer installed on the boom connection to the mast that the surveyor wanted. Spent the rest of the morning getting the MackPack for the main sail installed; lazy jacks are a pain in the ass at times, just saying. By the time that was done, the wind had picked up too much to put the main sail on. If we were facing into the wind, we might have been tempted to go for it, but the wind is on our stern, all day, every day, so need calm conditions, maybe late afternoon, if it doesn't rain... Paul got the new teak propane locker mounted after lunch, looks good. Once he had the aft deck cleaned up and his stuff put away, I started putting the cockpit enclosure panels into their canvas bag, to get them out of the cockpit. Ended up tripping over something and sliced the bottom of my big toe. Yea, yea, yea, shoes; not going to happen. I didn't pay any attention to it at first, kept putting the canvas away, till I noticed all these blood spots all over the deck from the aft locker to the cockpit. Oops! Captain was semi-good about cleaning up the mess while I tried to stop the bleeding. A little expired Neosporin and a bandaid, good to go.
