July 2024's prompts + some announcements!

These are all the prompts from July 2024. There is no due dates for microcest prompts, so feel free to publish a fic based on them whenever you would like.

Introducing @macrocest!

Has your micro gotten a little...macro? Well have no fear! We made a separate collection for your longer fics on ao3, tumblr and dreamwidth.

In the future we plan to host some events/fests/challenges/bingos there, but for now you can put longer fics based on the microcest prompts in the macrocest collection.

So how long does a fic need to be in order to be in the @macrocest collection?

Microfics are generally anywhere between 50 and 500 words, however we understand they can be a bit longer than that. We recommend that around 2k words you switch from a microfic to a "macrofic". However, we are not going to be strict with this so you can do it at 501 words or 3k.

and finally: microcest has broken containment!!!

We made a twitter and a dreamwidth!! Both are places we've seen a lot of dead dove and proship content. Hopefully this means a lot more shipcest content in our future!

I, @softgoldenlight, hope you had a good time! I myself had a fantastic time reading the fics that came in and I still have so much more to read through! My only goal is to have more shipcest works out in the world and so far we have 49 works across 29 fandoms in the AO3 collection, PLUS 14 works posted only on Tumblr (I've excluded the overlap). I think the goal was achieved!!

But, I think there is still more fun we can have! I have a little event planned for December, which we will be announcing here soon!
