Overall opinion of them: A dogshit excuse for a human being and an even more compelling character. If you don't feel even a shred of sympathy for him, you don't understand the text well enough. Has held the position of my #1 favorite character for 5 consecutive years and still going strong

Gender/sexuality headcanons: Trans man, and I have no idea how to describe his sexuality. Bi, maybe?? That's what I've went with for years but I'm not so sure anymore

Favorite moment in canon: His death scene and his arrival at the end of QDS2. The entirety of ODOA was also pretty entertaining

Favorite moment in a fanwork: Someone once drew him cicada blocking Heat in an old blog post. I'm pretty sure the last time I saw it was 3 years ago and I haven't been able to retrace it since then, but I think about it a lot

Favorite line, in canon or otherwise: I've mentioned it at least once on this blog already. Real Victers Will Know It

Characters I love seeing them interact with: Heat, Kaz, Serph, and Angel. Heat especially bc they enable each other's syndromes. Shin just makes Kaz even more mentally ill.

Last thing before sleeping headcanons: He pores over his research in solitude for hours each night, which usually caps off his day. Sometimes he goes for a drink or the occasional smoke before turning in.

Sleeping habits headcanons: Dreamless, fitful sleeps. He can't recall the last time he's had a full rest. ~4 hours is both his norm and the minimum amount for him to appear functional through the day

First thing after waking up headcanons: He has a strict morning routine, one of the few consistencies in his day-to-day life. Nothing to really balk at, still

Favorite locations headcanon: He loathes being in the company of others, yet being left alone with his thoughts is sure to leave him in a foul mood. Can't have shit in Karma City </3

Obvious PQ2 Balance Issue 1: Kamoshidaman is way too early in the game to be getting three actions a turn. His only redeeming quality is being susceptible to poison.

Obvious PQ2 Balance Issue 2: Immediately after gaining access to Psi and Frei, the next Labyrinth is filled mostly with enemies that are only weak to Psi or Frei. Depending on difficulty, you can get there as low as level fifteen. The first sub-Persona I’ve sound with Mapsi is level 21, and I still haven’t found Mafrei.

Latiil, the Merfae

   Below the cut, I introduce a new character through violence. She is a tiny Merfae. This is woman whump and there are whump illustrations along the way. Please mind the tags.

They had left her there. She couldn’t believe it. It wasn’t her fault she had been born with the black markings that covered her half of face, across her shoulder and wrapped around her back. Her mother had called her unique. Pafrey, her grandfather, simply pretended the marking wasn’t there. That Latiil was perfectly bright and vivid like the rest of the colony. By the time Latiil had reached adulthood, her mother, Mafrey and Pafrey had been taken by the deep dark. Latiil had been betrothed to Nark and Nark would inherit the role of protector and leader of their colony. But before they could complete the ceremony, no further back, the day before the ceremony was to be held, Nark had called Latiil “Ink blot” and gave her over to the portion of the colony that had always hated her. They did more than just leave her. One of them had a knife made of sea urchin spines and had cut up her tail and fins, so she couldn’t swim. They took her to the shallows while the tide was on its way out. There was a particular rock pool that dried when the tide was out. For the tiny fae it was as big as a house. A large chunk of drift wood had been lodged there into it. That’s where they left her. Rado had a collection of iron hooks the giants of the land had used and lost during fishing. Some were much too big to swim with. But some he could wrap up in seaweed and sling over his shoulder. He carried that to the rock pool in the shallows. The other carried Latiil there. Dragging her over rocks that were quickly losing water, tail fins brushing the surface as they went. Latiil’s body and tail were scraped, torn and bleeding. But the worst was to come. They pinned her to the drift woo  and Rado unwrapped the iron hook, careful not to touch it to his bare skin. They held Latiil in place and skewered the hook into her shoulder. She screamed  as a red cloud of blood spilled into the water. They took an abandoned fishing line and tied her to the driftwood. Rado made sure that the line cut deep into her tail, letting more of her blood. They all lingered there, taunting her, touching her, plucking out vibrant scales she didn’t deserve, because she was ugly. When they left her they had to crawl over the tops of rocks, for the tide was almost gone. As they swam home, they all knew that the pool would dry out. And if the sun didn’t kill her some other beast would. Latiil was no longer a stain on their colony.

*Taro forces himself to his knees and gives Yuta a strong punch to the head, forcing him even further back. He tries running back, but due to his dizziness, accidentally slips and falls into the fountain.*

UB: Now, Mafrei.

*Right when Yuta recovers from the dizziness, a ball of nuclear energy forms between Taro's hands and he unleashes it towards Yuta, causing him to fly upwards into the sky before falling hard to the ground. He rubs his head and tries to get up, but ends up falling again, too weak to move. And immediately after, Taro collapses to the ground as well.*

*UB rushes over to Taro and checks on him. Surely enough, he's too weak to move as well.*

UB: Taro! Are you alright? Damn, looks like we both beat each other up.
