My favorite stuffed animal apparently when I was younger was named 'puffalump’. It was this.

Apparently I refused to let it go for years and carried it around EVERYWHERE, much to my mother’s disdain. One day we were going to take family pictures, and my mom really, really wanted the family pictures to be nice. She forced me to leave the Puffalump at home and insisted nothing would happen to it. 

So when we arrived to the picture studio, it just so happens that there was a girl there that had the same exact Puffalump. Of  course, I freaked out and accused her of stealing it. I freaked out so much that we had to leave LOL. 

And that’s also the story of why all of our family friends have nice family photos and my family does not.

emerald: how my muse tells someone they love them without words 

Oh boy, this one’s gonna get long. (Spoiler: They all got long) Ahru is generally pretty openly physically affectionate with loved ones. There are times when she becomes more withdrawn, but she’s usually eager to greet her beloved friends with big hugs. The same holds true with lovers, (once she’s in an established relationship more or less) and she genuinely just enjoys being close to them. 

i absolutely 100% have had delightful visions of ahru running and tackling gaius and just wrapping herself around his upper torso 

Sex is also a pretty big one - admittedly she used to be a bit more flippant and casual in her more intimate relationships, but as she’s gotten older and so, so much more tired, she doesn’t find herself very interested in those kinds of dalliances, barring those more ‘established’ relationships. 

She’s also pretty big on gift-giving, and while she’s not the best cook in the world if she’s having fun and wanting to make something special for you, that’s a pretty big give-away (platonic or otherwise). Honestly, for a bard, she’s really BAD at telling people how she feels so she really just shows it in about any other way imaginable. She’ll take interest in what the other person likes, their home and their history (if such things are ‘on the table’) - Ahru loves to soak up information anyway, so tacking on the bonus factor of that information being attacked to someone important to her makes it extra savory and dear to her. 

lapis lazuli: where ‘home’ is to my muse

“Where the heart is”…? Home is such big thing for Ahru, which stems into the meta kind of behind her family name.

Hiraeth is a Welsh concept of longing for home, which can be loosely translated as ‘nostalgia’, or, more commonly, ‘homesickness’. Many Welsh people claim ’hiraeth’ is a word which cannot be translated, meaning more than solely “missing something” or “missing home.”

Way back during beta when I saw this I thought heck yeah I love it, it sounds awesome, looks awesome, the meaning is awesome. Yanno. Like ya do. I hadn’t really anticipated just how deeply it’d end up rooting itself into Ahru herself or her clan. I could go on and on about this for a long time though, but in brief the whole of the Hiraeth bloodline shares this underlying sense of, well, ‘hiraeth’, and Ahru isn’t an exception to that.  

Furthermore, Hir’asra, the Hiraeth village, was never ‘home’ to Ahru, even though it was where she was born. She was ostracized and looked down upon for not being capable of inheriting her mothers powers, and often sent away to various mentors in the hopes of ‘fixing her’. 

Ahru never really had a sense of home until the Waking Sands, and losing that devastated her. The Rising Stones being her new home, the Scions her ‘found family’, she’s extremely protective of both. 

Likewise, Fortemps Manor and Camp Dragonhead are both very much ‘homes’ to her, places of rest where she’s found solace, though the latter (well, both really, just to different extents) is much more bittersweet these days. Whenever she’s in Ishgard, I headcanon that she usually stays in her own quarters Edmond had prepared for her at the manor. 

But Ahru has always been at home on the road. While she’s never had strong faith, there was once a time she believed she was under the Wanderer’s eye, and for the most part embraced it as an answer to that sense of ‘hiraeth’ - and still does to this day, albeit with even less faith attached to the sentiment. 

As for the gooey gushy ‘people who feel like home’ bits; yeah, if Gaius is there, she’s content in some fashion or another. I have a whole fucking AU about her staying at HIS manor in Garlemald (post-a lot of messy stuff) and that’s a really big ‘home’ for her that she nor I ever expected but wow if that isn’t capital ‘A’ capital ‘U’. Also Alphy. If she’s got that boy with her nothing else matters. 

zebra stone: what gets my muse excited

NEW PLACES! NEW THINGS! NEW BOOKS! Ahru gets pretty tired honestly, and where she is now, well… she’s a pretty bad depressive episode, so the things that usually excite her admittedly are a little dulled at times of late. But she really does love traveling, and seeing new places, learning about new people and cultures and trying new foods! She’s got an adventurers heart through and through, it’s just a little worn and tired right now. 

Oh, good, god, though - can a fight get her blood pumping. I wouldn’t say she’s always scrapping for a fight and she absolutely isn’t the sort to butt heads just to throw fists, but any fight that challenges her, that makes her sweat and bleed? Let’s just say her and Zenos have a VERY strong albeit very twisted bond. When he struck her down at Rhalgr’s Reach, despite every other horrible thing happening around her, for one selfish moment she was elated. She was so close to being decimated, but in that instant she felt such a raw, instinctive urge to live, and it felt so goddamn good. 

“Losing” Zenos had a pretty confusing effect on her, one that is still resounding to present day (MSQ), and she loathes Elidibus all the more for wearing his skin around, as she has a strange sense of “kinship” and “respect” for Zenos himself. BUT THAT’S GETTING PRETTY FAR OFF THE SUBJECT HERE their fucked up ‘relationship’ just gives me life, and I’m so excited to see what happens when we meet Elezenos gosh. 

Anyway, in the deepest of her depressions, a good fight like this is the best way to get her riled up.

“Ow, ow!” 

Taiken hissed in pain as the familiar girl with brown hair helped him tend to his wounds. He was brash, zealous, and sometimes didn’t think before running into battle, and today was one of those days. Bandages covered him from head to toe, there was even a wrap around his head, causing his already messy locks of hair to stick out even more. Though he was whining a bit, he did his best to hold a strong expression. 

Sitting on a bench, he sighed, placing a hand over his eyes, rubbing his temples slightly. “You really didn’t have to help me, you know.” He would mutter, looking away from her with a furrowed brow pout. “I can do this myself.” 

He held his stubborn expression for a few moments, before he would sigh, as if defeated. With a serious look, he would turn to her and for the first time, look her in the eyes with conviction. “Thank you, though”.

💒 What kind of wedding would they want to have?

I think Corinne would want something small and intimate, maybe just a handful of those close to her to witness it and share in the moment. But for her, the day and the idea of marriage itself are more about the bond and the love shared, so if nothing else, she might even be content with just her and her partner and whoever is officiating.

And it should probably be outside too, yeah.

Hei jolted up, looking around with a wide-eyed expression as he placed his right palm upon his cheek, breathing heavily for a moment before calming down as he briefly tapped his cheek.

“Tch…”

He furrowed his brows, shaking his head as he tried to shake off the words that was whispered to him.

“I need to-”

He paused for a moment as he looked around his surroundings…Noticing that he was somewhere he didn’t remember taking a nap in, his last memories before waking up from this sleep being…

“Oh…Right…I was walking…Must have collapsed.”

He murmured as he began to stand up, dusting himself off and of course checking to see if he was not missing anything. He closed his eyes for a moment as he let out a deep sigh.

‘Did you have a bad dream?’

He opened his eyes immediately as he heard the voice, looking towards the source of the voice, the man alert for a moment before he seemed to relax upon seeing who it was.

“Oh..Missy..I uh..”

He seemed flustered for a moment before he cleared his throat, recomposing himself as he offered her a friendly smile.

“..I’m fine! Haha. I just dozed off a bit is all..Anyways! Fancy seeing you here. How are you doing?”

Hei remarked as he attempted ot give the girl a reassuring smile, tilting his head to the side curiously.

Yes!

At least, he doesn’t mind it overmuch. It’s not something that happens often to him – he’s usually just referred to as ‘Doc’ by the people he takes care of – but he certainly won’t argue with the idea. He’s also very prone to tossing around a ‘darlin’ or a ‘big fella’ here and there once he’s become comfortable with somebody, and that tends to happen easily enough.

Of note: if he feels someone is above his station in age or in social class, they’re pretty much doomed to be Mister- or Miss TheirNameHere for all eternity. Sorry. He doesn’t make the rules.

💬 — Does your muse talk or sing to themselves when alone? (for synnove! or any others u might want to do

Not so much alone as when Synnove’s focus is elsewhere. Primarily she mutters to herself; as with so many things, it’s usually when she’s hip-deep in research or working on some sort of equation. Talking helps her work through a problem, regardless of whether someone is there to listen; however, the quieter she gets, the deeper she’s sinking into her mathematician or physicists’ mindset, and she’s not really paying attention to the world around her any longer. Once she stops talking entirely, it’s generally a bad idea to interrupt her or forcibly drag her focus back, because she is going to be very cross with whoever does so.

She doesn’t really sing, ever, but she does hum, usually when she’s home baking or trying a recipe from Aunt Angharad’s cookbook.

Well, Synnove does sing, but not when she’s alone: when she’s at the Drowning Wench and has gotten r e a l l y drunk. Someone starts a drinking song, she’ll join in without reservation.

OH were u looking for a new tablet?? i wish i’d known i couldve given some reccs, but if it was only $36 you were prolly shootin on the lower side.. mine was ~$70 but it works like a charm and has for roughly 2-3 years

!!! yeah mine kicked the bucket last night after 10 yrs! ;;; really tore me up,, it wasn't so much the lower price as it was the same model? because after 10 yrs of having that one and really being super comfortable the thought of something different absolutely terrified me and i was super attached to it as silly as that sounds,, that's really sweet of you!! what type do you use? in case things DO go bad lol and i gotta look into a new one at some point.

❤  - Ahru is extremely sensitive along her back/spine (specifically). Softly tracing your fingers up and down is liable to get her writhing nigh-uncontrollably and melting under your fingertips. Her ears and tail are sensitive, but not always to an outright salacious effect - but with the right mood could definitely be used to that effect. She’s also very sensitive around the neck/throat area, but for… less good reasons - she’s just very uncomfortable with people touching around there at all to begin with, but if she trusts an intimate partner enough to let them touch and kiss her there oh good gods send help.

✌  - She’s generally got very steady, sure hands - if a little rough and eager at times. She doesn’t always actually know what she’s doing in a given situation, but by damn will she fake it til she makes it. There have been a -hah- handful of occasions where she’s gotten flustered enough to start fumbling about more sheepishly and senselessly though.

Asra 

❤ - You’d be pretty hard-pressed to find any ‘surprising’ places that are particularly sensitive for her - though by the same token, just about anything goes? Erogenous zones are pretty much the most sure-fire areas, of course, but she doesn’t have any one place you could pay attention to that would really make her melt - unless you’re going down on her. But she’s also just... a pretty physically open individual who loves having a good time and feeling good so just about anything is fair game. 

✌ - Well... she’s... not bad, per se. She’s practiced enough, but if Ahru is ‘a little rough and eager at times’, 'rough and eager’ is pretty much Asra’s default. Her redeeming quality in this matter is that she’s still absolutely determined to see her partner positively overcome with pleasure, and she’s receptive to any guidance they’d give her.
