“Let’s go to Tartarus tonight.” 

Makoto stood in front of Junpei, trying to look casual. He had already talked to Fuuka, who reluctantly agreed to accompany him on the condition that they leave at first sign of danger. 

Junpei looked up from his magazine, confusion on his face. “But no one’s back yet. It’ll be just us two, right? Like Brokeback Tartarus or something- let’s be good kids and stay in tonight, yeah?” 

“Fuuka agreed to help us out already. C’mon, I’ll keep us safe. It’s my job as leader, after all,” Makoto said. He couldn’t explain why he wanted to go to Tartarus tonight- he had an itch under his skin, and had a feeling that only the thrill of battle could scratch it. 

Or maybe he just wanted an excuse to be alone with Junpei. He would never admit that, though. 

Junpei stared at him for a minute, then two, then finally he groaned and set his magazine down on the table. 

“Alright, fine. But as soon as one of us gets tired, we split. Got it?” He said, and Makoto nodded. Those were fair enough conditions- he didn’t plan on pushing that hard, though. 

With Fuuka and Junpei’s conditions in place, the three of them set out for Tartarus. 

Turned out Tartarus was a lot more risky with just two people. There seemed to be Shadows around every corner, and Makoto would swear once or twice he heard the rattle of chains as they climbed the stairs to the next floor. 

Still, they continued on. Makoto kept a close eye on Junpei, always healing him when he started to look roughed up and fighting closer to him than usual. 

At one particularly dark corridor, Makoto felt a pit form in his gut. A strong Shadow was near- one that was definitely way too strong for the two of them to take on. 

So he dragged Junpei into the darkness, pressed against the wall out of sight. When he started to protest, Makoto clamped a hand over his mouth. He couldn’t risk the Shadow hearing them.

The Shadow passed by, and Makoto dropped his hand. Junpei glared down at him, and Makoto could just barely make out the pink tint of blush on his cheeks. 

“Dude, a bit of warning next time! I thought you were gonna try and strangle me or something-” 

Junpei cut himself off, staring down at Makoto, who really wasn’t looking at him anymore. He was still fully pressed against Junpei’s body, but he was trying to tell how far away the big Shadow was, if it was safe to leave. 

“...You’re, uh, still awfully close, dude,” Junpei muttered. Makoto blinked, only now realizing how close together they really were. He stepped back, almost tripping over his own feet in the process. 

Athlete’s instincts must have kicked in, as Junpei reached out and grabbed his wrist to stabilize him. For a moment, nothing was said. 

Then Junpei let go, Makoto adjusted his tie, and Fuuka broke the heavy silence. 

“It looks like you two are clear. You should head back to the entrance- the Dark Hour is almost over, and Mitsuru-senpai will have all our heads if she finds out about this.” 

Makoto glanced back at Junpei, who seemed... Out of it. He knocked his shoulder against the other’s, reaching for his hand. 

“Hey, Earth to Iori. We’re leaving, come on. Dark Hour’s almost over,” Makoto said, and on second instinct he entwined his fingers with Junpei’s as they began the trek towards the teleporter. Junpei said nothing, but Makoto noticed where his gaze fell. 

Right on their entwined fingers. 

Nothing was said the rest of the way back to the dorms. Brief goodnights were exchanged between Makoto and Fuuka before she disappeared into her room on the third floor- leaving him and Junpei alone in the lounge. 

Junpei was the one who broke the silence. 

“So, uh... That was fun, right?” He asked, his nervousness written all over him. He was shifting his weight, popping his knuckles, looking anywhere but at Makoto. 

He was also blushing. It was faint, but Makoto could tell. He knew a lot of things about Junpei, proud of his knowledge of his best friend. 

He felt a smile creep up his face, an idea forming in his head. It would come back to bite him later, possibly end his friendship with Junpei even, but in that moment he couldn’t care less. 

He stood a bit taller, pressing a kiss to Junpei’s cheek. 

“We should do that again. Goodnight, Junpei,” he muttered, disappearing into his own room. 

And in the darkness of his bedroom, he pretended he was cuddling his best friend.

so i woke up like uh 40 minutes ago i open twitter and i see jnmk cards in the same scout. again. the gays are real!!!!!!!!

I imagine (again but different) that after several games, Makoto and Jun would be feeling a little tired after that but Jun suddenly received an idea and wanted to tag Makoto along with the idea which he successfully managed to do so. They worked on fixing their own appearances though while they were taking their time fixing their appearances to make themselves presentable, Makoto accidentally made his glasses blurry from to wiping it too much with a piece of cloth.

Jun, noticing that he was struggling, helped out cleaning his glasses and made sure he didn't leave scratches on his glasses by accident. While he was on it, he looked up to his fellow partner and felt his cheeks heat up a bit just at the view of him without glasses. He quickly gave his glasses back and saw that he was no longer struggling, letting out a small sigh of relief to see that it was no longer a problem for his partner.

After that small problem, Jun would hold his hand while they went out together, almost as if it was a date between the pair, asking him every once in a while where he wanted to go next or if he felt a little tired from walking so much. Makoto always answered him honestly, he had no intention to worry the other about him and tell a lie.

Even though both of them are busy and rarely pass by each other, they would always meet up after work and spend time together by doing activities like going to an arcade, listening to each other talk about their interests or how today went for them or simply being on each other's side, one of them sleeping on the other's shoulder while holding each other's hand.

Well looks like they got me. I'm in akishinji hell. But as a pegoryu shipper I just coulsn't release my babies into the wild, so now I'm shipping both and making a blog featuring both. It is mostly an Akishinji ( ShinjiAki) blog but Pegoryu will make it's presence known here ( but mostly fron reblogs and such).

Now I know what you're thinking

Why ship Pegoryu AND Akihshinji? Why ship both?

Hmm, let's see...

We have seemingly quiet guy who likes to cook (who will absolutely wreck your shit if you piss him off)

The weird pet he absolutely adores

And a bratty zio user with too much energy hanging off him.

They're the best of friends and the original members of their group.

Their flavor of romance is Friends to lovers.

Question...Which ship am I talking about? Pegoryu or Akishinji?

Granted this is just a few things they have a common there are many more. Yet at the same time they couldn't be more different. And yet I enjoy it all the same

To a certain extent you could say this ship is a 'proto pegoryu' ( Like MakoJun, and some others). I can easily see the humble begginings of such greatness and well, I can see Ren and Ryuji in Shinjiro and Akihiko. They're all they're selves and are unique characters but...'when you know, you know'.

(Also with them associated with Moon and Star Arcanas in p3p this puts them as a dark light pairing like Ren and Ryuji who are respectively Twilight and Dawn (this post explains it) hence my Main blog is the pegoryu blog Citrine: Dawn and Twilight. Check it out if you're interested)'
