Please watch the video at the end! . . The ELEVATE Male Leadership Academy had me come and speak with these young men about their social media brand and etiquette. But they’ve heard that talk several times already. In fact, we all have and yet we still miss the actual solution 🤷🏾‍♂️. . Here’s why... . Social media behavior is an extension of our self-love, self-respect and self-image. It’s how our emotional and psychological holes 🕳 or wholeness become visible. Therefore, if you want to fix the social media, you have to fix yourself 💡😮! . . These guys accepted my challenge to DO THE HARD WORK 💪🏾! They all identified holes within themselves usually kept a secret, that need to be filled. Then they committed to specific actions and ideas that will move them toward inner fulfillment and love for themselves. THIS is the REAL answer🤟🏾. . . Thank you ELEVATE Academy, Two Wins foundation and UNT Dallas!! Own Your Actions | Create Your Experiences 😊🙏🏾 . . . . . #UNTDallas #ELEVATE #Summer #MaleLeadership #Academy #Knowledge #Wisdom #Growth #SelfLove #SelfRespect #SelfImage #Perspective #SocialMedia #Behavior #Psychology #Healing #Reflection #Mentorship #Speaker #MrFrankieWilson (at UNT Dallas) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bya7cvOJ2PL/?igshid=1f4csbu60w74f

Chapter XXI
Gorgeous & Carter: When your Idols become your Rivals
The building was an architectural masterpiece; however, its real beauty lied within its library. The University Law School housed one of the prettiest, if not, the prettiest legal libraries in the state. Beautiful florescent lights lined the ceilings, and in between, on the ground floor, there was immense lighting atop each table in each row, that seemed to stretch as far as the eye could see. The room of all rooms showed anyone that entered, a glow of infinite legal knowledge, which could fill the hungriest of bellies with syllables, upon pronouns, upon adverbs of a language foreign to any outsider.
Outsiders; like Gorgeous.
Outsiders; like Carter.
This was the location, Gorgeous asked Carter to meet, to “break” the news of: her new trial team, HMS, as well as, her selection process and why she selected the way she did. She wanted to show Carter, openly, that building a successful team did not require low brims and hidden garments. She wanted to show him, something better. Something beyond what he was already doing.
Here goes nothing...
She entered with style and grace. Poised. The wind from the automatic-door sent a whoosh of cold air across her beautiful bronze skin as she entered. Once she stepped in, all eyes went from their books, to her face, back to their books, and then back again to her nether-regions, once they felt she was no longer looking.
Were they intrigued? Absolutely! The law students were a hermit bunch. They partied. Had fun, and done, all the things a law school student should/shouldn’t do; but none of them, men and women alike, had seen a beauty like Gorgeous, in their space. They welcomed her with open hearts and open minds. Gorgeous finally felt, at home.
He entered dripping enough sauce to fill 100 ketchup bottles, and even left room for hot sauce. He wore all black, even though it was like 103°, his shirt was crisply ironed and lacked any sign of sweat. Besides, his entrance left enough of the student’s sweating. His black timbs, black jeans, and black oversized tee, accompanied by a black Futuristic hat, made him look, the part. He was obviously, an outsider.
Granted, some of the students studying were just as intrigued by his entrance, as Gorgeous’. However, with him, they had a funny way of showing it. Some, made eye-contact and attempted the “what’s up” head nod. Carter, ignored them. Others began typing furiously on their mobile phones.
Are they calling Campus Police?
Others, simply didn’t bother to look at all, and when they did, they made sure to give him a puzzled look of “What is, he doing here?!”
Figures.
Gorgeous selected a study room on the top floor. She was seated with her leg-crossed under her colorful sundress while she waited for Carter to arrive. She showed knee, but just enough; Had heels, low ones, to accentuate her calves, and a freedom rider fro, equipped with a colorful headband to match. She wasn’t “dressed up”, so much as to show Carter you can go anywhere, wear anything, and get the same amount of respect. Needless to say, Carter was not amused. She could see his lack of amusement and enthusiasm when he entered the 8 x 10 study room, equipped with a whiteboard, a circular table, and two chairs.

Although I love my position in front of the mic or camera, I especially love the opportunity I was given to teach and train young men how they can do it themselves, at the 2019 DeSoto Male Leadership Symposium! . . I’m so proud of all of them. The guest were not for beginners either. The interviews ranged from people like actor/singer Mehcad Brooks @mehcadbrooks (1st pic) to the MAYOR of DeSoto,TX, Curtistene McCowan (3rd pic) and yet they and the students worked synergistically and blew me away! . . Giving back and sowing into others is the best form of fulfillment you will ever have in life. Always look for a way YOU can do more, give more, and be more to someone else. As we say with THE GIVING PROJECT, “We’re Blessed to be a Blessing!” 😊 . . Thank you @teamzoecomm , @hoopgotti and @desotoisdeagles for affording me another opportunity to speak into the lives of young men from all over the DFW metro area. . . . . . . . . . #DeSoto #DMLS #MaleLeadership #Symposium #Forum #Leadership #Growth #Patience #Wisdom #Knowledge #HighSchool #Boys #YoungMen #Broadcasting #Host #Interviews #Impartation #IAm #Grateful #Thankful #Inspired #MrFrankieWilson #TrueBlood #GloryRoad #Supergirl #DesperateHousewives #USANetwork #BETNetwork #ABCNetwork #MahcadBrooks (at DeSoto High School) https://www.instagram.com/p/BwIYS3CprkS/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1qwbolfljut1y

Conversation
Chapter XXII #IdolsBecomeYourRivals How do I say, I Love You, without the I, the L, or, the Y-Chromosome?
“Hey Carter!”
“Hey.”
“What’s the matter?” She asked as Carter took his seat opposite her.
“Nothing.” He said somberly as he removed his hat and scooted up to the table. “You wanted to meet. I’m here. Lets, meet.”
“Well, as you may have heard, I got my proposal approved by The Administration.”
“Yes, I’ve heard. Congrats.”
“Thank you! I’m so excited about the team I’ve selected!”
“We, selected.”
“We?!”
“Yes we, you held tryouts, didn’t ask my opinion. Had people tryout we both know ‘I’ would have selected...”
“But...”
“I’m not done. Ant then you invite me to this law school, to rub it all in my face? You’re ridiculous.”
“Whoa. Hol’ up. Where is this coming from? ‘I’ wrote that proposal.”
“You’re right. You did. Now, did you consult me before, during, or after the proposal was written, OR, when tryouts were held?”
“I’m sorry, DAD, was I supposed to?!”
“I’m not your...”
“I know that! Look, I can handle my business however I please. You got the FUBayoU (“FUBU”) Scholarship Event.
“And...”
“And, this is your opportunity to show The Administration you can raise money and not just hold social/party type events. Besides, you showed how salty you could act at the Date Auction.”
“Salty?!”
“Yes, salty.”
“First, wait wait wait, let me talk. First, I wasn’t salty about the Date Auction. I came because I actually wanted an actual date. Second,
“...”
“I’m not finished; I’m not salty about HMS. I’m salty about the way you handled tryouts. And as far as The Adminis., I don’t have to prove SHIT, to nobody.”
“Don’t cuss at me!”
“Anyway, like I said, I don’t have nothing to prove. Yes, I do have FUBU and I will switch it up, but the first All-Black Trial Team named after The Legend Heman Marion Sweatt, that’s a heavy burden. Just don’t drop the ball, this time...”
“Only thing I’m dropping, is this convo. I’m stressed enough, as is, I don’t need anything extra from you.”
“Whatever Gorgeous.”
“Fuck you Carter.” She said, as she snatched up her purse and backpack and rushed out of the study room.
They, will not see me cry.
He, will not see me cry.
I. Will. Not. Cry.
Team tryouts, while “hidden” to Carter, were held publicly. There were posters and interest materials posted throughout The Campus.
Boy’s rooms.
Girl’s rooms.
Hallways.
Anywhere a sign could be posted, it was posted. Gorgeous wanted to make sure the entire process was public, to ensure fairness. Granted, the tryouts were public, but the tryouts themselves, were a very private matter. J.D.’s, PhD’s, and Gorgeous evaluated each person; each person was given a rubric of what they would be judged on, and some (those bold enough to ask) received one-on-one tutoring with faculty of their choice. Some opted for it; others didn’t. About a week after tryouts, selections were posted outside of Dean Williams’ office.
“WE MADE IT!” Young and JuJu exclaimed.
They were some of the first student’s to make it to the door. They did not hide their excitement.
Following Young’s injury, JuJu and him spent a lot of time together. JuJu took any time she didn’t have for studying to literally and physically help get Young back on his feet. His, and her, spare time; was one. While they spent that time together, they dedicated an hour or two each day practicing their parts for tryouts. Others, like Cass and Daniel, spent even more time than that, but unfortunately, they did not make the team.
It’s life.
You can’t always win.
Since there was a shortage of funding, the team could only afford to take 4 people. Anything more, on this first go-round, was nearly impossible. It was tough for the staff and faculty to pick between the final 2 spots for the team.
Russ.
Chanel.
Ralphy.
