The Avatar of Mestionora
~ Rozemyne Playlist || The commoner daughter of a soldier, turned goddess
A little playlist I made from the start of the series; to the very end
(This was a fun project I’ve been making since halfway through Part 5. I’m so excited to finally see it finished. This was a wild, long ride, and I can’t express how much fun I had. This series has made me go through such an emotional roller coaster, so I decided to share this playlist. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as i enjoyed making it.
I’m thinking about making a separate post explaining the background of my selection. Why i chose what songs, why in that order, and how I separated the parts. But given the size of the playlist, it may take a while. That said, if you’re interested and wanna know about anything, feel free to ask! I will answer with delight).

Nine people I want to get to know better
Tagged by @my-rose-tinted-glasses thank you dearest <3
Last song (or current one in this case): Lucky by MALINDA. We all love some queer folk music.
Also I've been listening to Lovers Always Lose by Boys Go To Jupiter on repeat for the last 3 days. And The Warmth by Paris Paloma.
Favourite Colour: green and blue and purple but also specifically this shade :
Tumblr media
Currently Watching: Meet You At The Blossom (in case you missed it despite how much I'm posting about it), Love Sea (I'm having a different kinda blast but a blast nonetheless) and Takara No Vidro. Slowly going through Oppan and Only Friends too.
Last movie: I have no fucking idea, I forget what I watch and when. Dune 2 was definitely worth watching in theater but I don't understand what they did with Chani. We rewatched The Aristocats recently, still a great movie. Utsukushii Kare: Eternal is probably my actual latest watch. I had a blast with the whole series, upset I can't find more fanfics.
Currently Reading: mostly one-shot fanfics? I'm not reading anything long at the moment because I'm in the final push for my master thesis. Ask me again in 3 months.
Sweet, Spicy, or Savoury?: I guess savory then spicy then sweet, but let's be honest, the best are the mixes of two or the three of them.
Relationship:
Tumblr media
Current Obsession: 10 different fandoms as usual, and how much rest I'll be able to get once I'm done with my Master thesis.
Last googled: in order, the last 3 things I googled (in the span of like 20 minutes) are The French and Mongolian Olympic uniforms, who owned the French streaming platform Molotov, and who Nimrod was.
Currently working on: my Master thesis, which needs to be done for August the 31th at the latest. It's progressing well but is also very very stressful.
no pressure tags: @fiepige @glitchyycatt @raylaismad @guzhufuren @ninyard @kimkhimhant

hiiiiya!! do you have a goodreads or storygraph by any chance? I love the way you write stories and I wanted to anyone what are some of your favourites :)
hi!! i do not have either of those but ! i can just tell u some books ive enjoyed :3 probably there r more but these r the ones that i like vividly remember going Shit These Are Good . keep in mind though my enjoyment of books is exclusively based on how much fun i had & how fast i finished it i personally dgaf about quality but i do think these are very well written !!
the book of tea duology by judy lin (fantasy where the magic is done by tea ceremonies), icebreaker by a.l. graziadei (not the straight one, lighthearted queer hockey romance :3 kinda fast paced but cutesy), the october daye series by seanan mcguire (super long, still ongoing, crazy characterization and worldbuilding, fantasy in the faerie way- her other series indexing is amazing as well), ponyboy by eliot duncan (google trigger warnings for this maybe but its a transmasc mc whos addicted to drugs in paris- not a traditional novel format or timeline), rules for vanishing by kate alice marshall (found footage-style horror, a little more ya but still amazing), a criminal magic by lee kelly (historical fanatasy set in 1926 washington dc where magic has been made illegal & can be consumed through whats functionally alcohol), the poppy war by r.f. kuang (historical fantasy, hella popular i loved it), last night at the telegraph club by malinda lo (lesbian historical fiction set in san francisco) and the merciful crow duology by margaret owen(fantasy, magic system is cool asf)

már a csapágyhiány is sújtja a ruszkikat
The lack of modern optics limits Russia's ability to produce new tanks and restore the old ones it lost in the war with Ukraine. But the Russian armored industry lacks not only optics - the Russians have a catastrophic lack of ball bearings, which they received from the US and Europe before the introduction of sanctions - Forbes.
Among other things, Russian military operations also depend on trains as a mode of transport, which also use a lot of ball bearings. So the Russians have a choice: build more tanks or let the rail system fall apart.
"Historically, Russia imported most of its high-quality bearings from Western manufacturers. For example, in 2020, it imported ball bearings worth more than $419 million, about 55% of which were produced in Europe and North America,” CSIS analysts note.
The situation changed after Kyiv's allies strengthened sanctions against Moscow's strategic industries in February 2022. The outlook for the tank industry remains grim.
A new T-72BM3 or T-90M tank requires modern optics, and these optics usually came from France, but Paris deprived Russia of the necessary components - digital sights.
It is even more difficult for Moscow to solve the problem of ball bearings. "Uralvagonzavod" and "Omsktransmash", as before, are at a dead end due to their lack.
According to experts, the Russian military needs at least 150 new or refurbished tanks per month just to maintain its advanced strength on the battlefield.
Given the choice between building fewer tanks or freezing transport infrastructure across Russia, Moscow did the smart thing and chose the former.
As a result, "Uralvagonzavod" and "Omsktransmash" ship every month only a few dozen modern tanks, or restored, removed from preservation.
That is why, from a technical point of view, the Russians "travel in time" and restore old T-62s of the 1960s and old T-55s of the 1950s, which are in warehouses.

Hi! Could you recommend some sapphic romance novels (preferably not fantasy or science fiction, because I'm not really into these genres)? I saw you mention that you read a lot of them!
Hope you have a great day/night 💜
Hi @impossibleknots! Thank you for the ask. Happy to do some sapphic book recs, and if you stay tuned for a post in response to my next ask there will be additional book recs as well.
So this is a list made to my personal taste—it may not be to anyone else’s taste. I’m aroace-spectrum with some slight sapphic tendencies, and a lot more aro than ace, so my taste for adult romance books tends to be on the explicit side rather than the sweet and chaste side. Like, I don’t wanna read books that are afraid of the part where the sapphic characters are attracted to one another and wanna act on it, you know? And sometimes I come across books that seem to be very afraid of bodies.
For YA, obviously my tastes are a bit different, and I prefer things not be explicit. (While also not like, hiding that teenagers have sexualities.) I’m including some YA sapphic recs because I’m fairly well-read in YA stuff and it never hurts to have more books.
Historical Recs
Pretty much any sapphic novel by Olivia Waite. You cannot go wrong with Olivia Waite! She usually writes in early to mid 19th century England. Her books hit a good blend of cozy and spicy, and the heroines are always doing something like, running a con to bring down exploitative industrialists or similar.
I just finished An Island Princess Starts a Scandal by Adriana Herrera and while it’s certainly got its over-the-top at moments (the butch duchess and the femme heiress do absolutely hook up in the butch duchess’s private box at the opera) it’s over-the-top in ways that I personally found fun. It’s set in 1880s Paris and both of the heroines are Latin American, and it’s interesting seeing the way the book shows the ex-pat communities and the artsy sapphic communities in Paris at the time.
Contemporary Recs
Cleat Cute by Meryl Wilsner is about soccer lesbians and as someone who imprinted on Bend it Like Beckham I recommend it very much. It had a surprise neurodivergence storyline I wasn’t expecting that took delight in all the same.
Honey Girl by Morgan Rogers is EXCELLENT. It’s more on the line between sapphic romance and coming-of-age novel, so some of it feels more character arc focused than romance focused, but it’s a great “young adult figuring things out” story.
Delilah Green Doesn’t Care by Ashley Herring Blake and For Her Consideration by Amy Spalding are not my top top tier recs but they do have charming ensembles of characters surrounding the story.
Young Adult
Last Night at the Telegraph Club by Malinda Lo: I mentioned this on my longer recs list, but it’s getting a mention a second time because I cannot fathom why more people I know haven’t read it. Forbidden love in 1950s San Fransisco! Self-discovery! Family history! Chinese-American history! The Cold War! And I feel like it hits so many of the same emotional beats and complex approaches to characters that Young Royals does, so I’m determined that every Young Royals fan should at least try it.
The Love Curse of Melody McIntire by Robin Talley: Robin Talley’s written some not so good books over the years but I think she’s finally finding her niche with this one and with Pulp and Music from Another World. This book is set over the rehearsal of a high school theatre group putting on Les Miserables, and it’s told from the point of view of the stage manager who is NOT supposed to fall in love with one of the female leads but she does. Part of the book is told through stage manager emails and it’s truly hilarious if you’ve ever been involved with theatre in any capacity.
Imogen, Obviously by Becky Albertalli: Becky Albertalli gets a bad rep for being like, the vanilla-vanilla cupcake with no sprinkles of LGBTQIA+ writing? Which is just not fair and it’s such a mischaracterization of her as a human being and a writer, and a lot of it also comes down to how her books have been adapted and marketed. I could go on about that but ANYWAY I like this book and how it grapples seriously with things like bi erasure (Becky’s drawing from her own life here) while also having silly college kids engaging in Antics and jokes about a giant sculpture of scissors.
…and that’s my rec list for now! I hope this list helps and that you are having a great day!

Best Books of 2022 -- In Which I Fail Spectacularly to Compile a "Top Ten" List.
Tumblr media
Image: Goodreads Year in Books 2022 - 166 Books read.
I read 166 books in 2022. Yes, some of them were shorter books: several middle-grade books and a few advance review copies of picture books. Most were novels, though few were truly giant tomes. I really enjoyed most of them. Which is to say, trying to pick the "top ten" was excruciating and an exercise doomed to failure. So... I cheated. Or rather, I modified the goal. Thus I present to you... my top 10 42 books read in 2022 (and even that is fudging things a bit as there are a few instances here of me using a single book to stand in for the entire series if I read the entire series in 2022 and didn't want my list to balloon uncontrollably) organized like so:
Top 18 (Non-Romance) Books read 2022
Top 9 Romances read 2022
Top 9 Nonfiction Books Read With Kiddo 2022
Top 6 Fiction Books Read With Kiddo 2022
