ATLA WiP List

Yeah, it's not Wednesday. Sue me - Wednesdays have actually become a really bad day for me to write/share works in progress. So idk I'm just gonna do it whenever, I guess?

Anyway, every once in a while, I like to make lists of all my too-many WiPs, so that's what this is. Under a cut, because the list is gonna be super long.

So for context, I have 3 categories my WiP docs (fic series, long fic, and fic collection) and within those, have a mix of shippy and gen fics. So I'll break this list out by type and then gen vs Zukaang vs other.

Also, apparently tumblr won't let you do nested bullets anymore??????? wtf tumblr. Everyday, you get less and less usable.

What's UP my DUDES, it's time to sit the FUCK up (seriously, straighten your back you animal) and LISTEN UP. I am the MOST disinteresting person you will EVER meet and yet here we are. My name is AJ or sometimes Roary (if you know you know, hey besties) and have the stupidest cat ever and that's IT. But to fill the void in my metaphorical and dead heart, and really just to appease my need to feel special, here's the basics.

For those who care about the details for some reason??

- I alternate between canes, crutches, and a wheelchair (my dad once called my car a medical store) so when I make stupid jokes about being crippled or shit it's because I'm disabled and don't know how to cope

- You don't need my health records (I am a simp for my neurologist and don't need your opinions from five minutes of searching google), but what I occasionally talk about and am comfortable sharing is that I have functional neurological disorder (fnd), non-epileptic seizures (thanks fnd), poor mobility (thanks again fnd), and so... So many mental issues, as you can probably guess, such as PTSD, the spicy kind of depression that needs 3 different meds to stabilize, a sensory processing disorder I was diagnosed with so long ago I don't remember the name of (is that mental or physical??), and other bullshit

- I've got severe social anxiety but I'm trying my best to get out of my shell, so don't hesitate to interact, just forgive my rambling and nervousness

- Surprise, surprise, I have dissociative identity disorder (did), and yes, I'm traumagenic if you really must use such stupid terms. I don't give a fuck about dumb syscourse, I think endos are offensive af but what do I know, I can't even parallel park and know how to stay in my own lane. I've been in the DID community, you can probably guess who I was if you do enough digging but I have no interest in revisiting that side of the Internet, it is the most toxic community I have ever seen

- I sometimes go dark, but I'm fine, I'm likely just busy or obsessed with a video game and my queue has ran out

Though, I have a very dry and sarcastic humor that I know can sometimes be hard to read, so please just understand that I'm usually just playing around! I promise I'm not as mean as I seem!

You don't need to worry about anything upsetting here, I try not to post or reblog anything that could dampen someone's day, because not only are y'all here to escape, I am too. Character I find most attractive: Kermit Tully (I played enough Fire Emblem to know what war criminal is good dating material and this one has red hair too!)

Character I would be best friends with: Tyland Lannister (have I mentioned how much I love, love, love realpolitics? But also he was so understanding and kind to Aegon III, Aegon staiyng with Lord Tyland was a sign of their quiet bond of trust)

a random thought: This book convinced me to a 100% that Mirri Maz Duur and Bobby B. did the world a favour by guaranteeing the Targaryen dynasty would end with Dany. (Nothing personal, Dany.)

An unpopular opinion: I don't get the Jaehaerys hateboner the fandom has for him. At least not the intensitiy. Maybe I'm too much of a law nerd to dislike a character who creates a codified law system and long term benefit infrastructure to scorn someone who's your regular run-off-the-mill misogynist in Westeros. (Personally, I take more offense with his aggressive Targaryen supremacy propaganda efforts...)

My Canon OTP: Alys Rivers x Aemond Targaryen

Most Badass Character: Benjicot Blackwood closely, tied to Roddy the Ruin

Most Epic Villain: (in the limits of what qualifies as a villain in this universe) Maegor the Cruel, a mama's boy who couldn't function without Visenya direction his every action.

Pairing I am not a fan of: Daemon Targaryen x Laena Velaryon

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): Hmm, Martin wrote this book as barely anything more than fleshed out bullet points with the purpose of narrating a semi historic account. Obviously in this format details and characterisation would be left less detailed and left for speculation. Yet I think Tess could've been given more than just a few lines.

Favourite Friendship: Rhaena Targaryen and Maegor Towers, Tyland Lannister and Aegon III Targaryen

Character I most identify with: Lyman Beesbury

Character I wish I could be: Alyssa Farman

002 | Send me a ship and I will tell you: (Preface: This is the only category for which I will base my answers on the showverse. Their ship is based on a dynamic that couldn't exist in the book verse due to their ages in the book.) - When I started shipping them: Actually I didn't, the concept seems intriguing though if I wasn't sideeyeing the writer's competence in writing fleshed out female characters with agency. - My thoughts: no great ones, except I'm really happy that a F/F pairing made it into the ranks of most popular ships in the fandom - and the girls remain interesting without watered down pastelcoloured uwu-fication (at least from I can gather from my mututals). - What makes me happy about them: The actresses for all time periods having put so much thought in the dynamic that the tension in the Dance of Dragons isn't "just" based in misogynistic sentiments and aspiration of power in a misogynistic system - but also in deeply personal tragedy. The original script didn't even consider Alicent's misgivings with her former friend beyond, let's call it unceremoniously, slutshaming and religious righteousness. The queer character of their relationship carved out by all four actresses enriched their conflict in it's core. - What makes me sad about them: Maybe misogyny cages them both yet Rhaenyra can live so many liberties with her father's blessing. Alicent will always remain an outsider, deprived of any Targaryen privileges, any sense of agency, her anger at Rhaenyra's arrogance is so palatable. - Things done in fanfic that annoys me: haven't read fanfic about them so far. -Things I look for in fanfic: Smut, Alicent on top, religious guild as zesty topping for dirty talk. :P - My wishlist: The Catch 22 of women in media is that any agency can easily lead to demonisation and ignorance to what the story wants to tell about a woman's fate by a larger fandom. Chanving off a lot of the agency, the men remaining the only villians behind the unfolding conflict, Alicent and Rhaenyra are stripped of agency, therefore undermining the theme of misogyny in the Dance of Dragons in a weird way. I don't know if such a story about the fallout of a queer lovestory and the bitter remains held by female characters would be given the grace by a format intended for mass consumption... Yet, in the books there was such a loud untertone of Alicent exercicing power through the men around her in contrast through Rhaenyra's direct action. Alicent found a way to cheat the system she upheld, the conflict felt so much more personal. The show defanged them and it's theme in a round about way. It would've been interesting to see how Alicent's resentment, fear, and actual anger could've become an action that would've added to the thematic depiction of women navigating their limited range in an overlooked way. (C'mon, HBO, how could you pull off Livia Soprano 25 years earlier but Alicent is damned into motionlessness from minute 1?) -Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Alicent should've had the Lavender wedding with Laenor and found company in Laena. Rhaenyra could've had Daemon if she wanted, but anyone of her choosing would've been fine too. -My happily ever after for them: Rhaenyra would've ascendet the throne with Alicent's belssing, they both would've raised their kids better so they would've grown up as siblings, both had a lavender weddings, while Alicent warms Rhaenyra's bed.

003 | Give me a character & I will tell you: [Daemon Targaryen]

How I feel about this character: Until his meeting with Nettles where he appears to have had a change of heart I didn't care much of him, even absolutely understood why Viserys I exiling him repeatedly.

Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: "Sir, please step away from that teenage girl." If it has to be someone, Corlys Velaryion then...

My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: Caraxes.

My unpopular opinion about this character: As dubious I think his motives to turn towards Nettles are, not out of a change of heart against the war atroscities commited in Rhaenyra's name, at the end of his life he seems to have reflected on his past deeds, shown resignation.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: During his journey in the free cities, he would've found a medicinal remedy which could serve as Essosi equivalent to a chill pill.

Favorite friendship for this character: Corlys Velaryion

My crossover ship: God forgive me for the crassness but an evil thought crossed my mind: Since Daemon is so darn set on dragons, violence, and fornicating with any sexually avaible female character... wouldn't that make him an ideal partner for Angelus in Drakengard?

003 | Give me a character & I will tell you [Dalton Greyjoy]

How I feel about this character: Full of himself, arrogant, cruel! He's the absolute worst! Obviously, I love him.

Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: Johanna Lannister

My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: His crew. No seriously, his voice barely stopped breaking, he leads an entire fleet against an army of dragon. Dalton must've earned some absolute loyalty for a good reason.

My unpopular opinion about this character: I really hope he becomes the fandom's new hyper problematic sexy man. There's nothing redemptive about anything he ever did and yet I already have visions of bodice-ripper-themed x reader fanfics with him.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I would be curious if there's a fanwork/plans for the showadaption detailing his pillaging through Tess' eyes. Not only do I think she desperately needs a voice, it would be a good perspective on the civilian casualties during the conflict. Sometimes the spectacle around the political characters overshines the explicit anti war elements.

Favorite friendship for this character: ?

i've had fave songs but not fave styles and sets!!!! thank you anon this is great.

- ok my top stage is probably the advice inkigayo one take stage, because 1) the full loverboy styling and also the backup dancers have impeccable outfits too, 2) i loooooove the neoclassical set (the fact that main sculptures are laocoön and his sons, where the story in virgil is that he is punished by being attacked by snakes for attempting to expose the trojan horse as a ruse) and the THRONE!!! also the inverted triangle!! has a bunch of different meanings, including: the alchemical symbol for water (fluid and formless, also in the projections) and the symbol for femininity, the symbol of the father, son, and the holy ghost (christianity), and 3) the choreography of advice is the only choreo of taemin's that was conceived post covid and thus it's meant for specifically for the accompanying camerawork, which you can really see in the various ways that it gets filmed.

- my other all time fave styling is this outfit from the ngda beyond live:

which also included a burned jacket and an eyepatch, which he used to perform criminal, idea, guess who/sexuality, heaven, and door.

- another fave styling is the danger stage from shinee world 2014 at tokyo dome, with the giant blue fur coat and shirtless leather jacket and the giant cross and the revolver. peak solo taemin image change bullshit and i love it.

- tbh i love most of the styling from advice but the white cropped sweatsuit look really did make me lose braincells. like the chunky earrings and the harness and the bobby pins and mascara tear tracks and the pseudo sports bra it all lives rent free in my empty skull

- just. all the styling from criminal and ngda in general. obvs love the dark virgin mary getup and the chainmail and also the gucci suit with the chainsaw, but the lava suit and the hell set from the 2020 kbs song festival..........MWAH. and the royal blue satin hanbok from the king taemin mama 2020 stage....................with the cape.............. i also do like the set here as well, very inspired choice to go with this tron style hyper neon hanok/palace and pair it with more traditional fabrics and embroidery.

- i also find the original move styling ideologically very fascinating, partially because everyone kinda just....forgot about it? it's been eclipsed by all the newer versions that he's done where his general styling has shifted much more towards the 'feminine' end of the spectrum, but the original stages are a very interesting deconstruction of traditional western masculine silhouettes with emphasis on a particularly 'masculine' feature: muscular arms. most of the looks are sleeveless muscle shirts or graphic tshirts, but interestingly also a very skinny fit double breasted pinstripe suit, which is huge symbol of post-war and post-modern masculinity in western fashion. you can see this continuing deconstruction with other tracks on the move album; like with stone heart, where he's got this strange and kind of incredible sweatervest/suspenders/ultra high waisted trouser combo for the offsick concert, which is very clearly an appropriation of classic 'scholarly'/academic type fashion.

- as far as sets go, really all i want to talk about is how taemin puts sooo much thought into his stages (like the actual physical stages) for his tours. he's so interested in providing these very unique experiences in terms of stage technology which is not something a lot of artists think about. like for his first solo concert at nippon budokan he did a concert entirely in the round, which is pretty much unheard of for a stadium show. there's also the double hydraulic lifts from xtm, everything that was happening for t1001101 (the slanted stage, the lighting rigs), and then for the ngda beyond live, a redux of the slanted stage that also was separated into three different hydralic sections and drone camera integration (dream maker studios posted the dronecam version of heaven so you can see some of the stage in action). there's so much tech that goes into his performances that i really wanted to talk about that a bit, because i'm a nerd and stadium stage design is sometimes sooooooo boring. taemin really makes the effort to step up his game not only personally, but in everything around him as well.

“So, what have you been up to?” Beauregard’s shoulder thumps solidly against the door frame, blocking Essek’s most immediate line of potential escape. She folds her arms across her trim chest, and rolls her jaw lazily in a way that would be all comic swagger if it weren’t so intimidating.

Threat, interrogation, and small talk all in one. Essek smiles thinly, narrowing his eyes in sharp appreciation. Beau epitomizes economy of power. He respects that about her.

“I have been a very good little wanted criminal,” Essek says, bordering on demure simply to bother Beau. “My guard is up and my nose is down.”

She saunters in and props a hip on the desk. Her nose wrinkles. Deliberately recontextualizing his words, Beau says, “Gross.”

Essek takes a long, quiet breath through his nose. By now, innuendo is an accepted fact of his life. Like mildew on old books. Or rats. Essek’s safehouses and lodgings on the run are not always glamorous.

“When did you get in?”

Ah. Beau is attempting sociability. Essek, with his similar struggles, can recognize it more readily than most people.

“Very early this morning. Caleb could tell you the exact time.”

“Gross,” Beau says again.

Essek pretends not to hear. “If you are looking for him, he is at one of the student coffeehouses. An advisory meeting, I believe. He likes to keep his office hours public and witnessed.”

“Yeah.” Beau shares Essek’s fond smile. “Not to mention feeding that caffeine habit of his. The man lives on coffee, tea, and take-out.”

“Yes, well. He chose a less domestic partner.” Essek understates his frequent absences and perpetual flightiness easily. “Yasha is well? Have you thought more about adoption?”

Beau’s face flushes with elation. “Yeah, actually. We’re gonna head to Port Damali for a few months to meet the kids. Fjord says they’re excited, but we’re not gonna, like, just bring home a kid at random. We want to make sure they think it’s a good fit, too.”

“Beauregard, my most sincere congratulations.” Essek smiles at the rosy excitement evident in Beau’s every word about adoption. “You and Yasha will be exemplary mothers.”

“Oh my god, no. I am not going to be anyone’s ‘mother.’” Beau pulls a gargoyle grimace. “I’m gonna be a mom.”

“Hmm. I’m not sure I understand the distinction, but I respect the vehemence. And Yasha? Will she not be a ‘mother’ either?”

“She’s gonna let the kid decide, but she’s hoping for Mama or Mum.”

Essek considers this. “Luc calls Veth ‘Mama,’ correct?”

“Luc’s like thirteen. Veth’s ‘Moooooom’ now.” Beau imitates a petulant preteen with amazing accuracy. Then she blinks. “Wait. You never answered my first question.”

This is why Beau is an Expositor. Not even impending motherhood can derail her for long. Essek crooks a smile. “Truthfully, I am doing very little. I have not been able to stay anywhere long enough to establish a routine, let alone make progress on my studies.”

“Yeah, well, you know what they say. ‘A war crime is a lifetime commitment.’”

Essek blinks at her coolly. “How quaint.”

“What, do you think ‘Treason’s more than just for Midwinter; it’s for life’ sounds better?”

“No.”

“Is soup really your favorite food?”

Essek backtracks, but he is familiar with this tactic. “I believe I missed a key transition in our conversation. I was going to suggest ‘Apostasy is a choice, but Excommunication is forever.' However, it seems you have moved on to… soup?”

The Nein fixated on his appreciation of soup in Aeor and have not relinquished it since. It baffles him. But, like innuendo, he long since came to accept soup as a fact of life with the Nein.

Beau sighs as if he’s grievously inconvenienced her. “Yasha wants you and Caleb to come to dinner tonight. She asked me to find out if soup’s still your favorite.”

“I still enjoy soup, yes.”

“Cool.”

Their respective social graces stall out. Or, at least, Essek’s sincere social graces stall. He can make different degrees of small talk - from inane to unnerving to thinly veiled threat - while trancing.

“Jester asked you that in Aeor.” Beau has opted to continue the conversation with her Expositor skills. Essek doesn’t mind so much. In fact, it’s nice to stretch his Shadowhand muscles sometimes.

“That is true.” He answers the unspoken question, giving her the first move.

“She asked you what your favorite food was, and you said no one ever asked you that before.”

Essek, unsure where this is going, chooses to confirm the bare facts and let Beau show more of her hand. “Yes, that was my response.”

Beau’s frown deepens. She studies him, intently and in silence, for almost a full minute. Essek waits, unruffled.

“Was that true?” Beau blurts. It’s a vague question, unbecoming of an Expositor, too broad to net much and too easy to dodge.

Essek blinks, unsure if this is a real slip-up or a tactic. “That was truly my response,” he hazards.

“No, like—” Beau scratches her undercut. “Was that really the first time someone asked you what your favorite food is?”

“My memory,” Essek begins, careful, “is not as exact as Caleb’s.”

“That’s not what I’m asking. Was it a- a ploy or something?”

Essek is now thoroughly confused and wary. “Why would you suspect it was a ploy?”

“I dunno. For sympathy?”

“Sympathy,” Essek repeats. Baffled. He has completely lost his footing in this line of inquiry and it makes him nervous. Beau is staring at him.

“You don’t think it’s weird, do you.” Beau scrubs a hand through her undercut again. “Fuck. Okay. When I was growing up, my favorite food was risotto. My mom wasn’t great, but she had the cooks make it a couple times a month and sometimes when my dad was being, like, shittier than usual.”

“I am unfamiliar with the dish.”

“Fucking hell, Essek—” Beau snaps her jaw shut and glares up at the ceiling, obviously counting to ten to cool her temper.

Essek’s guard is fully up. They are both such damaged people, he thinks, distantly, that they struggle to have conversations that are not interrogatory. And Essek’s default response to nervousness has always been evasive opacity.

“So,” Beau begins again, calmer. “You were one hundred-and-twenty-some years old before anyone asked you about your favorite food.”

“To the best of my knowledge, that is correct,” Essek replies. “It was never….” He searches for an adequate word. “Hm, relevant. It was never relevant.”

Beau stares at him again, for a long, long time.

“Do you really think I’m gonna be a good mom?” she asks, finally. There is something vulnerable in her voice that sets the hairs on the back of Essek’s neck on end.

“I think you will be a good moth— I think you will be a good mom, Beauregard.” Essek says it and knows it to be true.

“Okay.” She sniffs. “Thanks.”

Essek chews his lower lip. “I have developed a fondness for that chickpea spread while travelling.”

Beau smiles a little. “Oh?”

Essek shrugs. “It seemed relevant.”

Beau groans and pushes away from the desk, stomping towards the door. “Ugh! Now I’ve gotta go buy some fuckin’ chickpeas. I know Yasha doesn’t have any in the kitchen, and she’ll want to make you some hummus or whatever.”

Essek calls after her. “Please tell Yasha that ‘or whatever’ is fine! I will be on time with Caleb!”

“Cool! Whatever!” Beau waves as she vanishes down the stairs.

An NCT mafia AU with OT23. Summary: Working for the mafia comes with many layers. There’s excitement, violence, loss, and betrayals. Yet there’s also friendship, family, loyalty, and code. The last thing it needs? Love and all the complexities it brings.

Chapter: 1/ First Stage

“What’s your favorite flower, noona?” The girl, barely the age of ten, looked up from her spot on the grass at the boy across from her. Her fingers slowed down from wreathing the buds of blooms she had gathered on her lap as she mulled over the question.

“Hmm… I like daisies.”

The raven-haired boy turned his head slightly to the side as if surprised by her answer.

“Daisies? Why?”

“Why not?” The girl asked with a lilting laugh, her hands working again to finish her wreath.

“I dunno… I just…” His nose scrunched as he tried to look for the right words. For someone so young, he sure is someone who takes great care of what he says or does.

“Daisies are so plain… They don’t fit you.”

“Hey, that’s not true.” The girl moved to tuck her legs under her to find a more comfortable position. “They’re very pretty. Simple, but very pretty,” she bit the inside of her cheek for a bit as she remembered something. “Also, Mama told me they mean new beginnings. I like that very much.”

“Mm…”

She looked up again at the apparent dissatisfaction of her playmate. He can be so stubborn sometimes. Even though he’s still a kid, he loves acting like a grown-up, especially in front of her. Still, she looks at him like a precious little brother so she decided to smile and humor him for now.

“What kind of flower do you think will fit me then?”

The boy looked at the stalk he was playing between his fingers thoughtfully before giving a quiet answer.

“A rose.”

The silence enveloping the room was deafening. The situation was the exact opposite of the energy of the headquarters just an hour ago, with everyone looking so tense in their seats. I tried to look as small as possible on the quiet spot next to my computer, the best place where I can look as invisible as I can be. I felt the seat next to me creak and barely managed to break a smile as I looked up at the boy who took it.

“Hey, Jaehyun.”

He gave me a slight nod, his dimples showing just a little bit as he quirked his lips into a tense smile. Even he looks nervous, and he’s not usually one to be affected by anything.

“Can I sit beside you?”

I gave a feeble wave of my hand to tell him yes, not really minding the quiet company for now. He’s usually such a calming presence to everyone, though he does seem a little off today more than usual. I saw his gaze move towards the front of the room where the woman in red was currently standing, her expression composed as usual. Nobody knows her name, only her alias, but even then, her face is a prominent one in the family.

From her looks, one can assume her to be in her early 30s. She had the composure and air that can rival the most cold-hearted of ice queens, evident from years of being trained in whatever she was designed to do. But while her face and presence are something that can make any man fall on their knees, she remains untouchable in a few ways.

“It must be serious, huh?”

I looked back at the boy next to me in surprise. I was so deep into my thoughts I almost forgot he was still there.

“I’m sorry?”

His gaze didn’t move from the woman standing in front of the room. “It must be serious for her to be here… the mistress of the Don.”

My jaw tightened a little bit at the truth behind his words. The Don is not one who often shows his presence to everyone. Usually, it would be his advisers who will get in touch with any of us, a power move that has kept his presence—and that of his family—almost detached from the criminal empire he has built. Whenever he would call the rest for a meeting, however, she would always come first to herald his arrival, like an Angel of Death opening the paths for the Devil himself.

“Yeah… must be,” I croaked, barely finding my voice. As if on cue, the steel doors of the headquarters opened, causing everyone to either freeze on their seat or slightly flinch. I tried my best to keep my head down, my peripheral vision barely catching the black coat of the man who walked into the room with a choking presence.

For a moment, no sound other than heavy footsteps were heard on the expansive floor. Nobody dared to breathe until the Don spoke. He took the spot in front of the room, his mistress moving slightly to the side to give him way.

Eyes like a hawk scanned the cluster of men and boys in front of him. His eyes barely touched the spot where I was, but I knew… I knew that was more than enough.

“I called you here today to give an important announcement,” he finally spoke, his voice steady, commanding. He need not raise it with how quiet everyone was.

“As all of you know, this family has a long history. My leadership was passed down to me by my father, and him, by his father before him. As much as I take pride from being its head for decades, the time has finally come for some new blood, if I must say, to run it.”

Cold seeped into my veins at his words until they sank to the pits of my stomach. Around me, all the members started giving subtle confused looks at each other.

“I have come to announce that I am stepping down from my position as Head of the Family.”

My heart raced, blood pumping loudly in my ears. The members did not dare say anything, though the glances they exchanged told me they’re much in shock as I am. Unfortunately, that’s not the only bomb that was about to be dropped tonight.

“I’m sure everyone here is aware of the tradition of our family. By our law, leadership shall be automatically passed down to the ruling head’s heir,” he stopped, his stern gaze sweeping over the crowd in front of him again. “To my great disappointment, however, my successor refused to accept their birthright.”

My heart started racing faster than it had already been, the organ working so hard it felt like it would burst through my chest.

“Because of that, I am opening the position to all members of the family. Capos, generals, and soldiers alike. Each and every one of you here is a candidate to be the next head of the family.”

...until it stopped working altogether.

For the first time since he came in, my eyes snapped towards the man in front of the room. I was not the only one giving him the same look—everyone was shocked to silence as they processed his words.

“The rules are simple. If you want to be considered, you should come up with something that can bring glory to the family. Add to our wealth, our influence, or power, I do not care. But it must be done with discretion, so that our identity is not betrayed to normal society and our rivals. Other than that…you are free to do anything you like.”

At that, his mistress stepped a little closer to him once again. She spoke in a well-rehearsed tone, devoid of emotions. For a half-second though, her eyes seemed to flicker with something else. I'm not sure if it was just my imagination, but her gaze momentarily stopped on me and Jaehyun before snapping back to the rest of the crowd.

“Everyone here has two months to work on whatever plan they have in mind. We will deliberate who will take the position of the head after that.”

“Wait—”

Taeyong, who has barely moved a muscle on his seat since the announcement, finally stood up. His perfect features looked strained with worry as he addressed the woman.

“When you say… you can do anything you like…” his gaze moved towards the Don, but it was the female who gave him his answer.

“Anything you like. The family code is waived for the next two months."

"No betrayal… or death of a brother shall be held against any of you.”

OKAY SO-

In the most recent RotTMNT podcast where they interviewed Russ and Ron, they said that “if they had more episodes, they wanted to show more about the origins of the mystic city. Like how humans and yokai used to coexist, before the yokai were forced underground (I assume due to the Shredder’s rampage making it seem like every yokai was a ‘demon’ in the waiting, leading to humans taking action), angering Draxum.”

Like... YOKAI AND HUMANS USED TO COEXIST?! That’s super interesting and super cool! Buuuuut now I’m just wondering that, if it weren’t for Kraang creating the Shredder armor/if it weren’t for Saki making a literal deal with a devil... would yokai and humans continue to coexist?

Would the Rise!verse end up being a sort of modern fantasy world, where creatures of all shapes and sizes just live alongside humans without any fear? Because uh, if that’s the case, then that really is the Ultimate Good Timeline.

Like, forget writing about bad futures where the Turtles all die or Shredder/Kraang takes over the world - fanfic writers, let’s write about THIS possible future!

Though, this Ultimate Good Timeline wouldn’t be completely good. There’d still likely be plenty of criminals both human and yokai as well as villains (because hey, it’s still a sort of comic book-y/cartoony world) - hence why Draxum would still be an alchemist (more scientist than warrior, since he’s not really fighting a war in this AU, he just wants to make things better for everyone) and would still want to create ‘perfect’ mutants that could grow up to be protectors and saviors.

His mutation experiments would also be a lot more legal since he wouldn’t be using them for genocide-by-conversion/child soldiers, and as such would likely pay volunteers in exchange for mutating and doing research on them. Given that furries would still exist in this world, I’m sure he’d have plenty of volunteers, lol.

@mitkitty also pointed out to me that since mutation generally seems to help with a person’s health by giving them more strength/agility/power/etc., Draxum’s experiments could also be used help people with chronic issues to lead easier lives (another reason why they’d be a bit more legal in this AU).

Which means, our favorite action film star (not a victim of the Nexus since I don’t think Mama would be able to get away with kidnapping him, but still a bit tired and burnt out, even more so after divorcing his ex) would be a lot more willing to visit Draxum and ask for his help in giving him a family. ...huh. I guess in this case, Draxum really would be more like an OB-GYN, just like Russ and Ron said, lol.

But yeah, humans and yokai would pretty much be living in harmony (save for the occasional conflict/friction, given that no society is completely perfect and peaceful) since a relationship between the two would be something that existed for thousands of years. You’d still probably have people like Big Mama who try to takeover or humans who may not care for yokai and vice versa, but overall I could see things in this timeline being fairly peaceful! ^v^ Certainly a lot more mystical. And honestly, that’s just really nice and cool to think about, you know?

Pearl and *Angel (He/they / He/They): The "New Gods". They run the universe and live in a castle near Minnrig. Though they may seem kind and thoughtful on the surface, they're actually not that good of people. I recommend not coming close to them.

Darling (She/Her): Adopted daughter of Pearl and Angel, she is known to have any magical powers. Not much is known about her since she rather hide in the Ancient Records within the castle

Star and Rose (He/Him, She/Her): Star and Rose are also adopted children of Pearl and Angel but unlike their older sister, they have magic. Star and Rose are probably more powerful than Pearl and Angel combined. Star is more adventurous and wants to learn about the magic in the world while Rose tries to live a more normal life, away from her godly heritage.

*Viktor and Sal (He/Him, They/Them) : Two 2ps that escaped to the 1p World, they live with Pearl and Angel as caretakers for Star and Rose. Star is the most attached to them, calling Sal "Mama" and Viktor "Dad".

Lewton (He/Him): The personification of Minnrig, Lewton is also the Detective of the town. He's also the husband of Bazarov (who we'll talk about if anyone asks about 2ps) and he's also responsible for the end of the Red Eye Curse.

*Zargon and Diablo (He/Him, She/Her): The Adopted children of Bazarov, sadly they were found around the time Bazarov had the Curse, they were taught since adoption to become soldier, and they're mainly representative of Heart (Zargon) and Mind (Diablo). Bazarov actually stole Diablo's heart for years, making her very heartless and making her a war criminal like her father while her brother always seemed to get the blame. After many years and while Lewton was working on saving the world, Zargon found Diablo's heart and they got the fuck out of there.

Deera (She/Her): The eldest sister of Zargon and Diablo, Deera kinda left her siblings for dead after the death of their birth parents. She instead headed to the Fantasy universe and kinda became a fucking villain in the stories, mainly manipulating anyone for whatever she wants.

Riley (She/Her): Another adopted child of Bazarov (He has a lot), She was raised while Zargon and Diablo were but sperate. She later on took over her father's place as General.

Abble (She/her): An (say it with me now) adopted child of Bazarov but with a twist: She's also Lewton's daughter. She actually has a nice upbringing unlike her other siblings because Bazarov was free of the curse when she was being raised. Her siblings are highly jealous of this.

Bean and Loki (He/Him, He/Him): Bean is a cat who radiated too much magic and can now turn human. Loki is a Mochi America but somehow, during hatching, gained more of a conscience than his other Mochi brethren. They're also married after many weird circumstances.

*Azreal (She/Her): To put it shortly, she's a bootleg Dr. Frankenstein. She has a never ending thirst for knowledge and uses such knowledge of other universes to bring people to life and to create life. And in one story, she kills Nevo......sooooooo-

*Mono (He/Him): During life, he was a simple manga artist with a wife and child but after horrible circumstances, he ends up dead at the hands of a gang. Azreal takes him and brings him back to life. Sadly, during the "bringing back to life" process, his soul is merged with a more evil soul, so now two personalities are contained in one body. Mono being the more awkward side and Parasite having absolutely no chill.

Pearl Song (Any Pronouns): Originally my very first cringy Marysue OC, we revamped her into being another of Azreal's projects. She has the power of the everything due to her past life and now uses that power in her current life to cause chaos with her favorite brother, Mono.

*Foalina and *Matthias (She/Her, He/Him): Another project by Azreal, they are two bunny twins that travel the world as performers. On stage, Foalina is seen as meak and weak while Matthias is more flirtatious and cunning. Off stage, they hate each other with a burning passion

*Caddy (She/They): Another project by Azreal, she is a mute traveler of the many universes. She is very excited soul that likes any good story.

*Shyane (She/Her): Azreal's first project, at first, Azreal saw her as a daughter and she saw Azreal as a mother but after time, their relationship became more strained and she became more of a servant than a daughter. She is very nurturing and caring.

*Demonic and *Ivan (She/Her, He/Him): Demonic is another project by Azreal which Azreal didn't just take a dead body and reanimate it, she actually created her. She was mainly used for experiments until she finally left. After many unfortunate events in her life, she gives birth to Ivan, her son. Ivan is the light of her life and just is an absolute sweetheart. We see more of them during Ages AU.

*Lilla (She/Her): A girl from the 1500's that left her home to become a Teutonic Knight so she didn't become a maid, after her entire crew is supposedly murdered and the enemy is after her, she starts working for a witch in the woods who eventually send her to the future to escape death sentence.

Amelia (Amy) (She/Her): Basically Amy Rose (from Sonic series) but she is an old interpretation I had of her in 2016 that she basically became my OC. Anyways, she also comes to our present and meets Lilla and after she helps her understand the world around her (which Amy sees as old technology), they actually fall in love and get married, yay!

Cosmo (She/Her): Daughter of Amy and Lilla

Amore (She/Her): Amy's past lover that basically gets in fights with Lilla a lot

Kaarlo (He/Him): Lilla's past lover that dies of hypothermia after looking for her in the snow. F in the chat

Berry, *Duke, Nicholas, and *Cole (Any Pronouns, He/Him, He/Him and He/They): Basically two femboys (Berry and Cole) and two hunks (Nicholas and Duke) in a Dream Scape
