Why can't nature female beauty be a trend? Because society is a bitch on so many levels, that's why. I struggle with Trichotillomania (compulsive hair pulling) and I was looking into getting my brows microbladed bc they grow in so sparsely now :(

That’s a completely different situation. If that’s something that you think will help make you feel better in terms of dealing with a mental disorder, you should go for it.

I am specifically disgusted with the girls who used to ridicule me for having thick “manbrows” I see now getting theirs done up to look thicker, because people like the gd Kardashians have turned it into a style thing, to compliment their excessive spray tanning and lip injections.

I love Dragon Age: Inquisition’s Eyebrows

Alternative title: How my Inquisitor's bushy brows helped me learn to not hate my own

I have always drawn my canon Inquisitor with bushy, larger eyebrows. But this started as nothing more than just poking fun along with the fandom’s consensus about Dragon Age: Inquisition’s vanilla eyebrows. There have been countless mods made to to replace them with shaped, tamely and thinner options. Because the consensus is that the vanilla brows are all horrible.

...And by extension, my eyebrows are horrible.

I have thick and untamed brows, courtesy of my father. The hairs are long, and need to be smoothed down with my thumbs a lot. Some high school friends used to call them The Manbrows, as a separate entity from myself. I never told them this actually kind of bothered me. My brother has them too, but no one cares about his. Because men are allowed to have whatever kind of eyebrows they want. Women are supposed to have barbie brows.

“But Dalishious, thick brows are totally in right now!” Correction: Shaped and pencilled in thick brows are “in.” Naturally thick brows are not; (at least not in the media.) A lady at work actually suggested I pluck my brows (which I totally have never heard before, oh no) and then get them filled back in. Just absorb that for a second. My thick eyebrows as is are not right, but getting them plucked then drawn in like whatever Jenner probably claimed it as their trend totally for realz, is.

So the whole thing started off as just a bit of a self jab, and going along with fandom. But the more I drew pictures, and took screenshots, suddenly I became very defensive of my Lavellan’s brows. You see a lot of Lavellans with platinum hair and crystalline eyes and always with modded, perfect brows. Suddenly my Lavellan’s eyebrows became a bit of a defiant thing, I think.

Then, this happened. Someone actually commented saying they loved her eyebrows. I was over the moon. They grew bigger in my art. I realized I loved them. I love my Inquisitor’s eyebrows. I started giving other characters bigger brows.

And I realized how weird it was to like a trait in a fictional character, but not in myself. 

I don’t love them. I don’t even like them. But I don’t hate them anymore. I don’t wish I could afford to go get them made pretty. They’re just... as they are. And that’s something.

So yeah. Don’t mess with my Inquisitor’s eyebrows. Or they may or may not jump off her face and swallow you whole.
