1960 Pontiac Ventura
During the early ’60s, GM was in the process of reinvigorating the Pontiac brand. Part of this revitalization process was to attract a new generation of performance buyers. The Ventura was a big and bold car that came in several flavors. The GM B-Body platform was host to many memorable cars like the Chevy Impala, but the Ventura stood out. Available in a sports coupe and a four-door sedan, the Ventura was an excellent choice for most buyers. The 389cid V8 was plenty powerful enough to move the massive sedan or coupe with authority.
As Pontiac moved to other products the Ventura was kind of pushed to the back of the line. Enhancements to the model were few and far between, eventually becoming a forgotten relic of the brand by the ’70s. Finding a Ventura can be a tad bit difficult as most of these have already ended up in junkyards across the country.
