Mandarmani is a small coastal town at the shore of Bay of Bengal, in the district East Midnapore of Indian state West Bengal. Mandarmani beach is one of the best tourist attractions of the state. The co-ordinates of Mandarmani beach are 21.666°N 87.705°E. Initially this place was named as Mandarboni. It was also called Madarmani those days. Now a days this place is known as Mandarmani. Mandarmani is near about 180-190 kilometers away from Kolkata, the capital city of West Bengal. There is no railway station in Mandarmani. The nearest railway stations are Contai and Ashapurna Devi railway station. Mandarmani can be best reached by road. There are so many buses available to reach there. Travelling by car is best comfortable. This picturesque coastal town is famous for it's long beach and gentle waves. Mandarmani is also known for red crabs and abalones. The famous 13 km long sea beach of Mandarmani attracts lakhs of tourists every year. At the end of the beach, there is the confluence of river delta. It is called "mohana" in Bengali, which refers to the point where a river meets the sea. The "mohana" is near about 5-6 km from the main part of the beach. Tourists can enjoy breathtaking views of both sunrise and sunset from the beach. There are dense Jhau trees on the other side of the river. Tourists can also visit Tajpur beach, which is 20 km away from Mandarmani. Overall Mandarmani is one of the most heavenly coastal places for photography and photographers.
