I've been thinking of a little 'what if' thing where, yes, Desmond looks like his male ancestors, but he has the facial expression of his female ones down pat.

Altair is over working himself when he hears a twin clearing of throats, and he looks up to see both Maria and Desmond with the same exact look of 'I'm not mad, just disappointed' and he begrudgingly puts everything away under their watchful eyes.

Ezio does something stupid and risky, and he has to do a double take when the look on Desmond's face is a carbon copy of Maria's patented 'are you fucking serious, you idiot?' look she would give Ezio and Federico whenever they would get in trouble.

Connor does something to make Desmond smile, and his breath gets caught because that little mouth twitch, the scrunching of his nose, the gleam in his eyes, those are all his mother and just seeing that ghost of her breaks his heart just a little bit so he looks away.

Just Desmond being just as much of a descendant to his other ancestors.

I know this is just a WIP sketch but I'll likely not be able to finish it very soon :т Thought I'll put it here for now

From how Knights are described I've got an impression that they are "indoors" hunters in particular, and considering her affiliation with Byrgenwerth and Old Hunters I like to think Maria might have been one of those warrior guys diving in Chalice Dungeons to bring more shinies in Cainhurst. Guardians of the Queen (what Bloody Crow is) I think started to go down there after the whole "Cainhurst got the blood from a traitor from Byrgenwerth", when as a heavy warrior Maria had the motivation to requalify into a Hunter and adopt tactics from Gehrman since agility, speed and Hunter tools proven to be more effective against the beasts and various other monsters Byrgenwerth was off to face.

I know it doesn't look that bad, but this set is INCREDIBLY hard to work with because of lack of references (AND they're all in the very dark lighting)! Also the guys in throne room have double pauldron on their right shoulders and no pauldron on their left, when the unused model, the portrait and the corpses in the dungeons all have normal pauldrons. I assumed the throne room armours just had a modeling mistake and rolled with normal ones. Fun fact: portrait guy has slightly differently shaped pauldrons and all-golden armour, when everywhere else this armour is mostly silver with gold decor. I decided to just leave the unique look to him.

really really really enjoyed the “icon for good” he could have been/should have been/WAS to (frankly still iconic) “little bitch” pipleline that was Coriolanus’s journey. no way to choose evil and not shrink inside your own skin and become spiritually smaller than you’re supposed to be!

it would be nice, for sure, but it isn’t a need! I think the primary example of romantic love in her life is Lena & Julian — and what she takes from that, which aligns with her own personal views and feelings, is that being together with your person is the most important part! sharing your lives together, making each other happy and apologizing when you hurt their feelings instead, finding solutions together… you don’t explicitly need a pretty ceremony or a special title to do that, and you don’t need to be married to be together for a long, long time!

basically, she cares more about the spirit of the word than the letter of it, but for sure she would like to find someone she can act married with HAHA ^^ she’s someone who thrives off of being with other people, and who truly feels that happiness shared is doubled.

that being said, while a wedding also isn’t a necessity, having one would make her really happy! it doesn’t need to be a grand thing, but i think she’s probably internalized it in a simple but romantic sort of way — a day with pretty flowers, where you share a meal with the people you love and promise your special person that you’ll keep cherishing them the way you have and more… or something like that NDNNENND sugar sweet, like the seed of a fairytale that grew into a simple, if flowery dream, Maria would be happy to… well, simply be happy!

Tonight was 4 "slow" miles.

I really did try and slow down, but I really think I need to adjust my pace because I feel like I'm getting faster.

My hip felt good during the run so thats awesome.

I did adjust my walking intervals a bit at times, but this was 98% on task.

But hey happy to say I can actually draw Seb's face from memory!! I like it better when I can draw from memory than having to stare at ref pics. Nothing wrong with using ref, I use it all the time, but it causes me to think about it way too much. Fernando I've really only drawn one other time so I kinda just copied off my last one as a placeholder 😭 so I should probably just stare at pictures of him for a while, like I did with Seb, until his face is eventually burned into brain
