Robbie Shakespeare has passed. There is an informative obituary in the Jamaica Obsever by senior writer Howard Campbell.

I was moved by a rememberance Steel Pulse posted on Facebook--I don’t know how to link to it the link is to their page.  In the post they wrote:

Sly Dunbar, our heart is bleeding for you right now because the contribution that you both made remains unchallenged and unprecedented.  Because it was you both that sat down and orchestrated a new sound in order for the music to have been accepted by the industry outside of Jamaica.  It wasn’t an easy ride.

It is hard to over estimate their contribution to music in my lifetime.
