i was talking with a friend on twitter about how (theoretically) ryan and marielle’s wedding would go and i now present to you an unnecessary elaboration on that concept: 

- the wedding cake has multiple tiers and when they cut the cake together, ryan dabs a little frosting on marielle’s nose and they giggle

- they have a lot of white roses at their wedding because white roses are fucking amazing and match mari’s dress

- ryan shows off his wedding ring to his family, who congratulate him and welcome marielle into their family with open arms

- the flower girl is marielle’s little niece and she has no idea what’s going on and is just happily throwing petals everywhere

- there’s a slideshow at the wedding of photos of ryan and marielle being soft

- marielle’s friends are all so supportive of her and remind her that Ryan’s lucky to have her, not the other way around (marielle totally agrees)

- jake bergara, ryan’s younger brother, is basically weeping because who wouldnt when their big brother is getting married

- sara and shane are invited to the wedding and they congratulate ryan and marielle (do i need to elaborate further to make you feel emotions?)

- in the newest season of buzzfeed unsolved, ryan is seen wearing his ring all the time and whenever he goes to a haunted location, he always absentmindedly touches his ring to feel a sense of comfort

Gunmen kidnap German nurse from ICRC in Somali capital

MOGADISHU (Reuters) – Unidentified gunmen kidnapped a German nurse from the International Committee of the Red Cross in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, on Wednesday night, police and the ICRC said.

While abductions and killings of Somali aid workers are common in the Horn of Africa country, the targeting of foreign workers has become far less frequent in recent years as security has improved.

“We got the report minutes after she was abducted and now we are searching the whole area. We hope we shall find her,” Major Mohamed Hussein, a police officer, told Reuters.

The ICRC said in a statement the abduction occurred around 8 pm (1700 GMT) on Wednesday.

“We are deeply concerned about the safety of our colleague,” said Daniel O’Malley, the ICRC’s deputy head of delegation for Somalia.

“She is a nurse who was working every day to save lives and improve the health of some of Somalia’s most vulnerable people,” he said.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the abduction.

The Swiss-based agency, which has provided a range of humanitarian aid in Somalia for years, said in its statement early on Thursday it was in touch with a range of authorities but could not provide further information.

The organization’s staff had earlier told Reuters that the kidnappers snatched their colleague from inside their compound in Mogadishu and took her out through a back door, avoiding security guards stationed at the main entrance.

Residents said the district where the abduction occurred was quickly sealed off by police and other security forces.

Somalia has suffered lawlessness since 1991, when warlords ousted dictator Siad Barre and then turned on each other.

Major armed conflict has abated in recent years, allowing elections for president and parliament. However, al Qaeda-linked al Shabaab militants still regularly launch attacks in Mogadishu and elsewhere.

On Tuesday, unidentified gunmen shot dead a Somali World Health Organization employee in Mogadishu.

A relative of the victim identified her as Maryan Abdullahi and said she was targeted while visiting the Bakara market in the capital to buy items for her wedding next week. The motive for the shooting was not clear and the gunmen escaped.

I know Ryan has a brother so he’ll most likely be Ryan’s best man but I wonder if Shane and Steven will be groomsmen in the wedding?(I hope that’s the right term sorry if it isn’t)

Oooo now, we're talking! Yeah I'm very excited to find out, but we do have to manage our expectations on that front because both Ryan and Mari have large families and lots of really close friends. For all we know, Ryan's old roommates from college will make groomsmen before his baby Steven and his big tall pal lol

HOWEVER

I will happily keep myself content by imagining groomsmen stories and antics. I would read a whole bunch of takes on the imagined version of the bachelor party, getting fitted for tuxes. I mentioned this in a group chat with some friends but I keep thinking of that video where this one shorter guy is getting measured for a suit with his friends and the tailor hands him a toddler-sized suit and they all burst out laughing. Shit like that warms my old heart.
