October 25: Happy 87th Birthday to Longtime Voice Actress Masako Nozawa, who provided the Japanese voices of the protagonist of the Dragon Ball series (Original, Z, Super, GT) as the character of Son Goku and his sons Son Gohan and Son Goten. As well as Bardock, Goku Black, one-half of Vegeto, and one-half of Gogeta.

so, i love dragon ball, but i never actually watched the anime. i've read the manga several times, played a lot of the games, and watched all the super movies, enjoying all of them. however, i've never liked Sean Schemmel's Goku. yeah, he's got great screams, but i do not watch dragon ball for the 5 minute screams. i do not watch it in general for that reason tbh. when i've played the games, i generally swap to the Japanese voices because Masako Nozawa's Goku sounds so much better to my ears. the only "dub" of dragon ball that i've watched was DBZA, so normally when reading dragon ball, i heard MasakoX as Goku, feat Masako Nozawa for the screams. so imagine my surprise when my friend sends me this image with something Goku would never say in a billion years, and i very clearly hear Sean Schemmel:

apparently, i only hear Sean Schemmel when the line is something Goku would never say.

i don't like sean schemmel's goku because he's a dumbass superman clone that's slightly dumber. goku isn't a hero, he just likes fighting, and 90% of the time his fighting has put earth in danger, that he then has to solve with:

anyway. i fucking love everything dragon ball except sean schemmel. he's oooookay
