Back from my very long hiatus with the ninth card in my Mass Effect tarot series. Commander Shepard is the perfect embodiment of The World card. This card ends the cycle of the Major Arcana cards, just as Commander Shepard ends the Reaper Cycle with their final choice. It's a card that signifies completion and achievement, and very worthy of our valiant Commander Shepard as they stare down at Earth. The World: Representing balance and accomplishment, The World is the final card of the Major Arcana suite. Feel a sense of relief as you achieve balance in your life, as well as the connection to the world around you when you find your place in the cycle of life. This card ends The Fool's journey and is often depicted with a dancing person in the center, surrounded by a wreath that signifies the completion and cycle of life.

UK artist Lauren Ackerly, who previously held a campaign for a majors-only Mass Effect tarot, now has a fully illustrated deck up on Kickstarter! The cards from the last campaign are on a matte cardstock with gold foil on the fronts and backs, and the new ones will come with a foiled tuck box. She has opted for no romances depicted in the cards so everybody can enjoy all the characters, which she's listed for each card on the campaign page!
Some photos of the original major arcana deck:

Since the original campaign was actually for enamel pins, you can still get some of the original major arcana enamel pins at her store!

Been playing Mass Effect Legendary Edition and I fell in love with the story and characters. So I decided to make a tarot cards base on the game, this are a few options for the back of the cards.

Oh, well... When you see Fenris in a reading you can expect two things: first - someone is going to tear your heart in a very direct sense, second, well, you know... Wait for another three years, then we'll see

Dragon Age: Veilguard | The Ultimate Preview Summary
shinobi602 on twitter shared this amazing in-depth summary of all new information about the game that we have so far:
Coming to PS5, Xbox Series X and PC in Fall 2024
Consoles: Quality and Performance modes (60FPS)
Photo mode is confirmed
Fully offline single player, no EA account linking, no micro-transactions'
Play as a human, elf, dwarf, or Qunari
Choose your backstory, 6 factions to choose from when you create your character, all with "deep roots in Thedas": Antivan Crows, Grey Wardens, Shadow Dragons, Veil Jumpers, Lords of Fortune, The Mourne Watch
Each faction offers 3 distinct buffs each, like being able to hold an extra potion or do extra damage against certain enemies, and the odd reference in dialogue
You can customize your Inquisitor from Dragon Age: Inquisition in the character creator and "make a few key decisions that will impact how The Veilguard begins"
There are some "killer cameos" from past games that show up
Warrior Class: Use a sword and shield or two handed weapon to send enemies flying
Rogue Class: Utilizes quick movement and reflexes. You can wield a bow or dual swords with "powerful, precise strikes for lethal damage"
Mage Class: Use magic to incinerate, freeze, electrocute and crush. Some cast from afar, while others prefer close quarters combat
Each class also has 3 sub-specializations, such as duelist, saboteur, or veil ranger for the Rogue
Classes also have unique 'resource system's, for example, the Rogue has "momentum", which builds up as you land consecutive hits, and each will always have a ranged option
One Rogue momentum attack is a "hip fire" option we saw for the Rogue's bow, letting you pop off arrows from the waist
Another momentum attack for the Warrior lets you lob your shield at enemies
Quests are more handcrafted and mission based, curated with alternate paths, secrets to discover and optional content
There are also open ended explorable areas
Party size of 3 during combat, ala Mass Effect
Combat is focused on real-time action, dodge, parry, counter, "sophisticated animation canceling and branching", using risk-reward charge attacks designed to break enemy armor layers
Enemies have elemental weaknesses and resistances, and you can chain together elemental combos for extra damage
One example is a squadmate using a gravity well attack to suck enemies in, another slowing them down, and the player then unleashing a big AOE attack
You don't take direct control of companions like past Dragon Age games, but you can still pause and issues ability commands for you and your allies
There is a hub area for the player like Skyhold and the Normandy, called The Lighthouse
Companions can eventually start romancing other characters if you opt not to romance them
Each companion also has unique missions tied to them that play into the larger story
Nudity confirmed - romance scenes can get "a little spicy"
"Incredibly deep" character creator: 5 categories including: Lineage, Appearance, Class, Faction, Playstyle
Players can also choose different body sizes and shapes
Dozens of hairstyles to choose from, with "individual strands of hair rendered separately and reacting quite remarkably to in-game physics", pulled from EA Sports
Character creator lets you adjust the lighting so you can be sure your character looks good
The team wanted to balance the look of the game with both light and darkness. "When everything is dark, nothing really feels dark. For this one, we really wanted to build that contrast again."
Skill tree is "vast", you can also set up specific companions with certain kits, from tackling specific enemy types to being more of a supporting healer or flexible all-rounders
There are tarot cards you go through during the character creation process that will let you choose decisions from past games to implement into Veilguard
The team teases you may lose some characters during the story

Solar flares and cosmic upgrades February 27/28!
Photo by Alexandre Crosier over Mont saint Michel in France One and maybe two CME’s produced a huge G3 class Solar flare which hit earth yesterday producing incredible rare red pink auroras. I didn’t t know the CME or Coronal mass ejection was in effect. I only know I felt totally and utterly exhausted as I moved into San Miguel de Allende yesterday afternoon and couldn’t budge from My hotel…

Sorry if this was asked or answered already but are the going to continue with The Keep ? Where they go pretty in depth without choices throughout the series, or are the going to do something similar to how they did Mass Effect with that comic slideshow at the beginning going over just major choices ? Thank you ! And sorry if you already talked about it!
hello! ◕‿◕ no worries at all! DA:TV will not use the Keep [source]. we will be able to carry over decisions from previous games, but it will work a bit differently this time. what we know at the moment is:
In an interview with IGN, Dragon Age: The Veilguard Game Director Corinne Busche says the ability to import your choices is "fully integrated into the character creator this time around." "What's not lost on us is that it's been 10 years since existing players have played. They might not remember [what they did in previous games]," Busche explains. "They might need that refresher and we don't want new players to feel like they're missing out on those decisions. So in the character creator, I like to call it last time on Dragon Age, but you can go into your past adventures and it, actually through tarot cards, tells you what the context was and what decision you want to make." When asked if The Veilguard would read saves from Dragon Age Origins, Dragon Age II, or Dragon Age: Inquisition, Busche confirmed that it wouldn't. "The technology is so different and we wanted it to be in the client," she says. Busche also confirms that The Veilguard players won't have to link to their accounts for this option, as you'll be able to play the game fully offline. [source]
about how in depth or how many choices, they said "You'll be able to customize your Inquisitor from the last game's story and make a few key decisions that will impact how The Veilguard begins." [source] hope this helps. :>

Eighth card in my Mass Effect tarot series is done! Sovereign as The Devil, with Saren and Benezia the classically depicted man and woman enslaved. I originally had The Illusive Man for this card, but saw him better fit for The Moon card. The Devil represents enslavement to raw desires, fear, and giving in to temptation and attachment, which Saren and Benezia both did (albeit later being indoctrinated).
The Devil: This card can mean enslavement, feeling trapped, temptation. The Devil taps into your shadow self and instant gratification at the expense of long term sustainability. It can highlight the fear your feel of breaking free of the control of The Devil. The man and woman typically have loose chains, which they could easily escape from if only they chose to reject the shadow self's temptation and fear.

WIP Wednesday
Long time no see, uh? Thank you so much for the tag @whimsyswastry (I'm going through everything, sorry if I'm late in replying, just 3000 things all at once keepin me busy)! <3
Tumblr media
I was sent the cover of Jessie Dumont's I Prefer Girls by @ndostairlyrium (Hi Ali you're tagged), and of course it had to be done. I was about to post it, but then I realised I completely forgot I should really do the background on my own, shouldn't I. -3-
Some colour maps from an upcoming illustration. I finally sat down to make tarot cards for my babies, and Alyra came jumping in first place. Considering her arcana is The Chariot, it only seems fitting she gets to be the first. I am convinced on the bottom right version, but tell me what you think of course. :)
A doodle. When I played the Noveria mission in Mass Effect, that logo with the flaming vial just screamed to me Science Bros. They WOULD adopt it as their brand. They're scientists, and they're hot! It ensued picturing them in the Mass Effect universe, and thinking that it was them in that lab. Experimenting on the Rachni. They managed to convince one, a cute girl named Polpettina ("Little she-meatball" in italian) Aisling taught not to eat humanoid flesh by singing to her, pretty constantly, only songs about proper food. It worked, they got on the Normandy, Polpettina became the most spoiled rachni in the galaxy. Sure, they both get possessed by the Queen at times, but it's all innocent.
Tagging: @salsedinepicta @shivunin @dungeons-and-dragon-age @daggerbean @theluckywizard @pinayelf @melisusthewee @heniareth @dreadfutures AND YOU!

I tried so hard to draw my RP Character Cobalt in a tarot card sorta style. I think they came out cute?! They're a little half-elf, half-troll. Idk how I feel about the card itself, but i do love how he came out. I think they look precious.
I do commissions if anyone is interested! I like to draw fantasy toons lots, I mostly do WoW RP toons rn but I'm also willing to do BG3, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, D&D, Etc!
