Custom Size Mattress: Benefits and Flexibility for Your Perfect Sleep
Finding the perfect mattress is essential for achieving quality sleep and maintaining overall well-being. While standard mattress sizes often suffice, they don't always meet everyone's needs.
This is where custom-size mattresses come in. They offer unique benefits that cater to individual preferences and specific requirements.
Tumblr media
Benefits of Custom Size Mattresses
1. Perfect Fit for Any Space
One of the most significant advantages of a custom-sized mattress is its ability to fit perfectly into any space. Whether you have an oddly shaped bedroom, a tiny apartment, or a bespoke bed frame, a custom mattress ensures a snug fit. This eliminates the hassle of trying to fit a standard-size mattress into a non-standard space, allowing for a more aesthetically pleasing and functional bedroom layout.
2. Ideal for Unique Bed Frames
Custom-size mattresses are particularly beneficial for those with unique bed frames, such as antique beds, bunk beds, or custom-built frames. Antique bed frames often come in non-standard sizes, making it difficult to find a suitable mattress. A custom-size mattress ensures that your beloved antique bed remains a functional and beautiful part of your home.
3. Enhanced Comfort and Support
Everyone has different sleeping preferences, and a custom-size mattress can be tailored to meet those needs. Whether you prefer a firm mattress for back support or a softer one for side sleeping, a custom mattress can be made to your exact specifications. This personalised comfort can lead to better sleep quality and overall health.
4. Accommodation for Special Needs
Individuals with specific health conditions or disabilities may require a mattress tailored to their needs. Custom-sized mattresses can be designed to accommodate these special requirements, providing the necessary support and comfort. For instance, a custom mattress can be made with specific materials to alleviate allergies or tailored firmness to reduce pressure points.
5. Versatility for Various Shapes
Not all sleeping arrangements are rectangular. Custom-size mattresses can be made in various shapes, such as round, triangular, or even L-shaped. This versatility is handy for RVs, boats, and other unconventional living spaces where standard mattresses won't fit.
Custom Size and Shape
Custom size mattresses offer unparalleled flexibility, making them ideal for various lifestyles and living situations.
RVs and Campers: Travel enthusiasts with RVs or campers know the importance of a good night's sleep on the road. Standard mattresses often don't fit the compact spaces of RVs, leading to uncomfortable sleeping conditions. A custom-size mattress can be designed to fit perfectly within an RV's limited space, providing the comfort of home while you're on the go.
Tiny Homes: With the growing trend of tiny homes, space optimisation is crucial. Custom-size mattresses allow tiny homeowners to maximise their limited sleeping area without sacrificing comfort.
Boats: Living on a boat presents unique challenges, including finding a comfortable place to sleep. Custom-size boat mattress can be shaped to fit the contours of a boat's sleeping quarters, ensuring a restful night's sleep even on the water.
Conclusion
A custom-size mattress offers a plethora of benefits, from perfectly fitting any space to providing enhanced comfort and support. Whether you have a unique bed frame, special health needs, or an unconventional living space, a custom mattress can be tailored to meet your specific requirements.
Investing in a custom-size mattress is an investment in your sleep quality and overall well-being, ensuring you get the best rest possible no matter where you are.

❛  when you were little you held your mother’s favorite glass figurine in your fingers & you loved it so tightly that you snapped it in your palms & since then you’ve let go of beautiful things before you get around to breaking them. ❜
SYDNEY SWEENEY? No, that’s actually ARIEL MACKAY from the MARAUDERS ERA. You know, the child of ISABELLE MACKAY? Only 24 years old, this SLYTHERIN alumni works as a WAITRESS and is sided with THE NEUTRALS. SHE identifies as CIS WOMAN and is a MUGGLEBORN who is known to be BLUNT, CRUDE, and RECKLESS but also LOYAL, INGENIOUS, and AMBITIOUS.
character inspiration: rebecca bunch (crazy ex-girlfriend), eleanor shellstrop (the good place), gina linetti (brooklyn nine-nine), shane madej (buzzfeed unsolved), annie landsberg (maniac), maeve wiley (sex education) aesthetic: bottles of whiskey stashed beneath a mattress, the mess of a home the morning after a party, lacy red lingerie, neon signs lighting up a dark room, boisterous laughter sounding from the bedroom, cherry red lips sucking on a lollipop links: stats, pinterest triggers: parental death, substance abuse, bipolar disorder, suicide attempt, medication
Tumblr media
isabelle mackay was born into a small, devoutly catholic family, built on traditions and strict beliefs that mimicked the ideals of the outside world. with her mother at home to fulfil the role of housewife, her father was left to work every day in rough factory conditions in order to make ends meet. the family was poor, that much was obvious, but there was never any love to compensate for all the bad luck this family had been dealt. isabelle was never good enough, never christian enough, never helpful enough, and the birth of ariel winter mackay on april 3rd 1956 when isabelle was just twenty, fathered by a man without a face nor a name, was the straw to break the camels back — isabelle would never speak to her parents again.
ariel’s childhood was fun, but at the same time kind of rocky. i mean, issy didn’t have any family left, she was a single mum in the late fifties working a part-time secretary job and she had no idea how to raise a child. ari and issy spent a lot of time with issy’s friends, who became like aunts to ariel and allowed her to grow up surrounded by strong, independent women.
but ariel had a bit of a troublesome streak. it seemed as though chaos and destruction followed her everywhere she went, and it caused her to jump from school to school until she’d eventually been expelled from eight primary schools by the age of eleven. issy could not understand what was wrong, she couldn’t explain certain things that happened around the little blonde girl because they were seemingly unexplainable, and she was starting to grow seriously worried until a tall woman with a big hat knocked on their door and introduced the mackay family to the world of magic.
ariel was honestly ecstatic to go to hogwarts. she’d always known that she was different to the other kids, that she was special, and this only went on the prove it. and now, surrounded by other kids the same as her, maybe she could finally find a place that she fit in - a place that she could call home.
she was sorted into slytherin after a minute of the hat sitting on her head, and at first she slotted right in with the rest of her housemates. they were all just as fun, ambitious and intelligent as her and she was excited to find a place that she belonged. but slowly she started to notice that still she was being treated differently - there was something about her that had other kids turning their noses and left her unable to befriend many of her housemates for the pure reason that they wouldn’t talk to her. the first time she was called a mudblood, she cried for days - she’d expected hogwarts to be welcoming and instead she was still that weird kid that everyone wanted to avoid.
of course, as she grew up, it became obvious that not everyone hated her. she started to hang out with more of the gryffindors in her year and sought out the people who weren’t disgusted by her ambiguous (‘tainted’) lineage. moving through her first, her second, her third year, she became quite popular amongst the student body, and her fun-loving, easy-going attitude attracted many boys and girls who wanted to befriend her.
[ BIPOLAR & MEDICATION TW a small hiccup arose in her third year, when a pattern of violent, depressed and manic behaviour began to show in her every day life. at the tender age of fourteen, ariel was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and at age fifteen was prescribed lithium in order to keep it in check. her tendency for manic episodes meant she had to tone down on her usually adventurous nature and had to keep a check on how many people she surrounded herself with - too many and she could be sent over the edge. though she was still widely popular and incredibly fun to be around, she wasn’t known to have many close friends and was sometimes noted to disappear for days without explanation and return as if nothing has happened. END TW ]
[ PARENTAL DEATH TW everything was all pretty smooth sailing for miss mackay until a few months before the end of her sixth year, when she received a letter detailing the horrific death of her mother, isabelle mackay. devastated could hardly begin to describe how ariel felt — it was as if her whole world was crumbling around her. her mother, her one true rock throughout all the pain and misery and heartache of her life was gone and now she had no one. END TW ]
[ SUICIDE & SUBSTANCE ABUSE TW after the death, ariel fell into a deep depression into which no one could pull her out. for a while she relied on substance abuse to even keep her going, but after coming close to suffering from alcohol poisoning, she moved off it and instead completely isolated herself from everyone around her and allowed herself to fall deeper and deeper into her own depression. over the winter break of her sixth year, during which she had moved to her mum’s friends place in dublin, ariel finally completely broke and attempted to take her own life. of course, she was not successful, but after spending months in the hospital after this attempt, she finally spoke to a professional and started on the slow and bumpy road to recovery. END TW ]
alycia (her mum’s friend and now ariel’s caregiver) was reluctant to allow ariel to return to hogwarts after the traumatic few months they had endured, but after much begging on ariel’s part, she finally relented. returning to hogwarts for her final year, it was clear that ariel was all but a different person. once the life of the party, the sassy and adventurous and fun-loving girl of her year, ariel was now much quieter and a lot less adventurous. she was still ever so dependent on alcohol and still talking to a psychologist within hogwarts (as was requested by alycia), and though it was clear that ariel mackay was all but a different person, she was trying her very best to once again be happy.
but of course, being truly happy is never going to be easy. with grades that could only be described as subpar and absolutely no idea as to what she wanted to do with her life, ariel felt lost after leaving school. she wanted to make a difference in the world, she wanted to prove that just because you didn’t come from magic, didn’t mean you couldn’t prove yourself in this world, but how the hell was she supposed to do that without the grades to prove it? she tried anyway to apply for the auror program, but of course they all but laughed in her face, and so instead she spent a year doing nothing, feeling sorry for herself and trying to figure out what the hell it was she wanted.
deciding ultimately on her nineteenth birthday that she was sick of sitting around, she found herself a job at the hogs head, serving the drinks she so often drowned herself in. she saved every dollar she received, living with alycia still to avoid the cost of rent and at twenty-one, still lost and confused, she flew herself to philadelphia in america and attempted desperately to find a reason to smile.
it was in philly that ariel met natalie --- and for the first time of her life, ariel fell in love. the romance was tumultuous, to say the least, full of twists and turns and bumps that left them on and off again for over a year. it was on the fourteenth month of their relationship that they got into another screaming match and when natalie told ariel to leave and never come back, she meant it. and ariel was devastated. she thought she’d found a home in philly. with natalie, the good times had been worth the bad and she’d finally been as happy as she was before her mothers death. and now it was finished.
one week after the break up, ariel packed her bags and left --- back to london. alycia welcomed her back with open arms, but that didn’t make it any easier. her heart was broken, and she was still lost. finding a job at a small cafe in hogsmeade, ariel tried to put her life back in order, but she didn’t even know what that order was. twenty-three and still completely directionless, still just a blip on most people’s radar, just a drunk adult, on and off her meds, never truly happy.
she’s trying, though --- she’ll always try. she moved out of alycia’s home into her own apartment, she surrounded herself with people who love her and she applied for the auror program every month (still no word). she stayed out of the war only if to keep herself sane (but she’s obviously sided with the order --- she’d be damned if anyone doubted her ability just because she was a muggleborn). she didn’t have much purpose, but it felt good to try.
the timeclash, though --- now didn’t that fuck things up. she had to start all over again. alycia wasn’t with her, and in fact, why the hell was she? but what might be worse is the fact that she can’t find out anything about what happened to her... no one remembers her, she had no children, she didn’t die in heroic sacrifice. she just was, and she was... boring. all this time she’s been focused on being happy, but maybe she should’ve been worried about making a goddamn difference. she’s a nobody, and she wants to be a somebody.
RANDOM FACTS
swears like a sailor and drinks just as heavily. it’s a vice she’s never been able to shake and kind of doesn’t want to? yikes
used to see a therapist once a month but ghosted him about a month before the timeclash. why? who knows! she’s never been good at keeping a handle on her mental health --- she gets lost and confused and assumes no one can help her. this is the fourth time she’s done this.
has a small silver bangle on her left wrist that she fiddles with when she’s anxious. it used to belong to her mother, her and alycia found it while sorting through her stuff after her death, and tbh she hasn’t taken it off since the day they found it. it’s a part of her mother that she can take everywhere with her, and that’s a comfort you just can’t surpass.

Cot Mattress Custom Made
With a coir core layered with pure Australian Downs wool in a certified organic cotton cover, these are incredibly popular among parents who want their babies to sleep on natural materials from day one, and minimise their risk of exposure to toxic materials. While all our mattresses are custom made by hand in our factory in Sydney, our cot mattresses are individually measured and made up to fit exactly into your cot frame. With your baby’s safety the main concern, all our cot mattresses, which are around 10cm thick, are tested for firmness so they comply with AS/NZS Voluntary Standard 8811.1:2013: Methods of testing infant products – Sleep surfaces – Test for firmness. They may be the smallest mattresses we make, but our cot mattresses take us the longest time to make. Our standard cot sizes range up to 132 x 76cm. We custom-make the mattress to fit so please leave your required dimensions in the comments section on checkout. Here’s more information about the materials we use.
As mattresses are handmade to order in our own Sydney workshop, please allow approximately 5 to 10 working days for your product to be ready. Please also provide a template should the cot be other than a rectangular shape with right-angled corners.
We ship our products all over Australia including major cities like Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, etc. and beyond. Please note, for shipping out of Sydney, if no one is home to receive the delivery, the mattress will be left at the premises (ATL). You can contact us on 02 9569 4834 for other available delivery services.

Discover the Benefits of Natural Mattresses Sydney
When it comes to choosing the perfect mattress, the choices can be overwhelming. However, natural mattresses Sydney stand out for their outstanding benefits. Not only do they promise a restful night’s sleep, but they also support overall well-being and sustainability.
In this post, we delve into the four key advantages of natural mattresses: optimal body support, perfect sleeping climate, long lifetime, and ecological sustainability.
Tumblr media
Optimal Body Support
A significant benefit of natural mattresses is their ability to provide optimal body support. Unlike conventional mattresses that often use synthetic materials, natural mattresses are typically made from latex, wool, cotton, and other organic materials. These materials conform to the body’s contours, ensuring even weight distribution and reducing pressure points. This support is crucial for maintaining proper spinal alignment, which can help alleviate back and joint pain.
Latex, in particular, is known for its responsiveness and resilience. It adjusts to your movements throughout the night, providing consistent support and comfort. This adaptability ensures that no matter your sleeping position—be it on your back, side, or stomach—you receive the right level of support, leading to fewer aches and more restful sleep.
Perfect Sleeping Climate
Another compelling advantage of natural mattresses is their ability to create the perfect sleeping climate. Synthetic mattresses can trap heat and moisture, leading to uncomfortable and sweaty nights. In contrast, natural materials like wool and cotton are highly breathable and have excellent moisture-wicking properties. They regulate temperature effectively, keeping you cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
Wool, for instance, is a natural insulator that can absorb moisture without feeling damp. It helps maintain a consistent temperature, creating a microclimate that enhances comfort throughout the night.
Cotton, on the other hand, allows for excellent air circulation, which helps dissipate body heat and prevent overheating. This combination of breathability and temperature regulation ensures you sleep comfortably, regardless of the season.
Long Lifetime
Investing in a natural mattress also means investing in durability and a long lifetime. Natural materials, especially latex, are known for their longevity. Unlike synthetic mattresses that may sag or lose their shape over time, natural mattresses maintain their structural integrity for years. Latex, in particular, is resistant to dust mites, mould, and mildew, which can prolong the mattress’s lifespan.
Moreover, natural mattresses often come with robust warranties, reflecting the manufacturers’ confidence in their products’ durability. This long lifespan not only provides excellent value for money but also reduces the frequency of mattress replacement, contributing to less waste and environmental impact.
Ecological Sustainability
One of the most significant benefits of natural mattresses is their ecological sustainability. Conventional mattresses often contain synthetic materials and chemicals that can be harmful to the environment. Natural mattresses are made from renewable resources that are biodegradable and recyclable.
The production process for natural mattresses is typically more eco-friendly, involving fewer chemicals and less energy consumption. For example, natural latex is harvested from rubber trees, which can produce latex for many years without the need for tree felling. Organic cotton and wool are also grown and harvested with minimal use of pesticides and synthetic fertilizers, promoting healthier ecosystems.
Choosing a natural mattress means reducing your carbon footprint and supporting sustainable practices. Many manufacturers of natural mattresses are committed to ethical sourcing and fair trade practices, ensuring that the production process benefits both the environment and the communities involved.
Conclusion
Natural mattresses offer a range of benefits that go beyond just a good night’s sleep. By choosing a natural mattress, you are investing in your well-being and contributing to a healthier planet.
So, the next time you are in the market for a new mattress, consider the numerous advantages of natural mattresses Sydney and make a choice that benefits both you and the environment.

The Rabbit, The Rat, and the Hog (Chapter 6) - “Let’s build!”
Want to catch up or read the full fanfic? Check out the Archive!
Jamison was startled awake by a searing pain in his left side. He cursed under his breath as he slowly sat up off the cold flat table, moving his mechanical arm to his bandaged side. He examined the bandages for a moment, intricate metal fingers tracing the blood stained fabric before his gaze shifted around him. He recognized the walls around him, he was back at his and Roadhog’s hideout hidden deep within the wasteland of Australia. “Hooley dooley, That fuckin’ hurts.” He commented to himself as he slipped his legs off of the table, moving to the door slowly and stepping out into the open factory floor.
Roadhog was set up in a room on the opposite end of the building, one hidden just underneath the staircase that led to the catwalk. He could tell by the blinding light shining in from the western windows that the sun was about to set on another day in the outback. Holding his prosthetic limb against his injury, he poked his head into the room where Roadhog was working on his scrap gun.
“Thanks fer patchin’ me up, mate.”
“Wouldn’t have had to if you had listened.”
“Well excuuuuse me for wanting more excitement out of my life!” Junkrat responded with a giggle as he stepped inside of the room, leaning against one of the walls as he watched Roadhog work for a few more moments before speaking up again.
“How did we get out of there?” He inquired, his mind struggling to recall the exact series of events of their escape beyond that mecha pilot girl sending that cocky junker pilot flying.
“Your friend provided a distraction.”
“Friend? Whaddya mean friend? Yer the only one I’ve got Roadie.”
Roadhog pointed a hand upwards, lifting his head from the work on his gun and pointing at the ceiling. “That girl killed her own mech to save your ass.”
Junkrat tilted his head in confusion for a moment, glancing in the direction of the iron wrought staircase that was just barely visible from the doorway, and it was then that he recalled the entire scenario. He rewinded the memory in his head of when D.Va used her MEKA’s self destruct protocol and sent a decent chunk of Junkertown to rubble. He could see her once more emerging from the debri she used as a shield, and in the aftermath of that explosion, she was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. A grin spread across his lips as he looked back to Roadhog, pulled from his own thoughts.
“Y’mean that sheila’s here?”
“Yup.”
“...She’s alive?”
“Yup.”
“...You’d never bring anybody here, mate. Why did ya bring her? Don’t get me wrong, that explosion was quite a sight, but that mech she was usin’ looked like somethin’ from the pocket of a suit in Sydney. She might not be trustworthy.”
Roadhog shrugged his shoulders in response, facing down Jamison once more as the smaller lankier male adjusted himself on his peg leg. “She was going to die there, and she saved your life, Jamison. You owe her a thanks.”
Junkrat’s expression dulled even further, poking out his lips towards Roadhog in a pouting manner, a bushy blonde eyebrow raising as he sighed heavily, kicking himself off the wall of the room. “Alright fine, but you’ll neva hear me say it again!” Roadhog chuckled to himself as Junkrat exited the room, returning to his delicate work on the scrap gun as Junkrat scaled the staircase to the catwalk.
Hana Song was still completely knocked out from exhaustion. Being given a chance to relax and collect herself with a good rest was never more welcomed, even if the futon she was sleeping on wasn’t the most comfortable in the world. Nevertheless, she slept soundly the entire afternoon. The MEKA unit comm set she had resting on her head the whole time was lazily falling off the edge of the mattress, her body half under and half out of a large blanket. Her shoulder length brown hair was a complete mess; covered in dust, dirt, and debri from the excitement the night before, and her exposed face was no different. Soot and dirt were pooled on her forehead and cheeks, even a small sliver of dried blood rested on her forehead. Having rolled over onto her stomach, she unconsciously grabbed a hold of one of the nearby pachimari plushes, the toy buried in her neck as she slept peacefully.
Junkrat poked his head in each of the different rooms on the catwalk, until discovering that she was in their loot room. He saw her delicate form curled on the mattress, covered in a blanket and holding onto one of Roadhog’s prized pachimari toys. Whatever obsession Mako had with those toys, Junkrat would never know or understand. He carefully and quietly snuck into the room to get a closer look at the girl before him.
She was completely different from any of the females that Junkrat ever saw or encountered in the Outback. Her skin was very light colored, not tanned and her frame was so small and delicate it was like she had been starved, not too different from his own physique. Though her eyes were closed, he could see that they were much thinner and smaller, she was probably not from Australia based on her appearance, yet her clothing spoke otherwise. The maintenance uniform she wore looked eerily similar to the clothes that most junkers wore, which probably a good thing for her, it would help her blend in. Jamison focused on her face for a few moments, noting a large soot and dirt mark on her cheek, he chuckled slightly before noticing something odd: her breathing.
Even though she was lying down, Junkrat could easily discern that she was struggling to breathe, as her back would rise and fall eerily slow compared to his own. He tapped a mechanical finger against his chin, watching her for another quick moment, before he wanted to make sure that she wasn’t dying. Who knows, maybe Roadhog decided to poison her. He carefully clasped his right arm against her shoulder, shaking her slightly, “Oi, wake up sheila.”
The movement alone didn’t seem to be enough to wake her though, and as a few moments passed he suddenly shook her very harshly, worried by the fact that she wasn’t awakening quickly. Hana remained unconscious for a few more moments, before she was startled out of her sleep by the harsh shaking motions. She threw herself up from the bed as Junkrat pulled his arms back defensively from her body. She began to breathe and pant heavily for a few moments, before harsh coughing left her throat. She doubled over for a moment, coughing into her non injured arm until her coughing subsided and she saw who was in the room with her.
Her first reaction was to scoot backwards and away from him, her mind having fully awakened itself now and recalling that she was accompanying two international criminals in their own base hideout. Junkrat tilted his head, his amber colored eyes rising up and down her form as she backed away even further from him.
“Woah woah, sheila. Easy. I ain’t gonna hurt ya.”
Hana kept her distance from Junkrat despite his words and attempt to calm her down, she gave him a skeptical look, finally having a good close up look at the criminal mastermind. His body was abnormally tall, even hunched over in his current position she could tell that he had at least a foot on her own height. The skull tattoo ridden right arm sported an incredible, fully functioning prosthetic forearm, no doubt made with precision and care. D.Va’s eyes traced from his prosthetic limb to his shirtless torso, exposing his permadirt ridden body and surprisingly toned abdomen. When her eyes caught sight of the bandaged wound on his side, she eased slightly, returning her gaze to his haunting, yet captivating amber eyes.
“There ya go, now I suppose I owe ya a thanks fer savin’ me life back there.”
“You’re thanking me?” Hana returned, tilting her head as she adjusted herself more comfortably on her knees, her heart rate slowing from the rather sudden start she had moments earlier.
“Well mostly Roadie made me do it.”
“Oh. Well...You’re welcome.”  Han responded, offering Junkrat as genuine a smile as she could, despite how strangely awkward she felt in this situation. It was when Junkrat responded by waving an arm and slouching backwards,  that she felt a little bit more comfortable, allowing the tension in her shoulders and back to release.
“I gotta know sheila-”
“My name’s not Sheila.”
“What’re you spittin’? ‘Course it ain’t yer name! Sheila’s what we Aussies use as slang for women.”
“Oh.” How was she not surprised.
“I guess I outta know yer real name though, since you’ll be hangin’ with me and Roadie for awhile.”
“What do you mean awhile? Am I...a prisoner or something?”
“Oh no not in the least, girlie. With the heat of everything that happened back in town, it’d be best ta lay low for a few days before tryin’ to make a getaway. ‘Sides, we’re in the middle of the Outback a thousand miles from anywhere, you won’t be gettin’ very far on two feet when the sun’s high in the sky and cookin’ ya like a steak.”
Hana gritted her teeth for a moment, as much as she didn’t like it Junkrat had a valid point. She knew how far away she was from Sydney and trying to make that four hour journey by MEKA on foot would surely end in her demise. Her return to the city would probably not be welcomed by anybody at all either, as there was probably no doubt a search party looking for her where abouts by now from the Korean military. She sighed heavily, running a hand through her hair as Junkrat beamed an unusually friendly grin to her.
“Well whadd’ya say? What’s yer name?”
“ D.Va. You can call me D.Va.”
“Well D.Va it is a pleasure to meet ya, my name’s Junkrat and my tubby friend is Roadhog. As far as I know, I’m the only one who gets to call him Roadie and live.”
Hana chuckled softly as she adjusted herself once again in her sitting position, looking around the room for a moment and taking in again just how much stolen stuff she was surrounded by. “What is this place anyways? I’ve never seen a factory like this before.”
“Well it's obvious you’re not from the Outback then, these factories used to be all over the place, before those omnic blokes ruined everything. When the omnium exploded, everythin’ here went to shit. This place was one of the last few left standing, and once Roadie and I found it we knew we’d have a good place to call home, on our home turf.”
Hana nodded her head softly as Junkrat got up from his sitting position, practically jumping to his peg leg and easily walking out of the room, motioning for her to follow him. She hesitated for a moment. Well, there’s nothing better to do while the heat dies down, might as well entertain him.
“This whole building is our home and we use all of the scrap and spare metal to build things as we please.” Junkrat started rambling on about the various engine and robotic parts scattered around the room, it was similar to the mission briefings she would get in the good old days of her early Korean military years, she often slept through them or dazed off into her own world. If there was one thing that Hana could tell from Junkrat’s speech though, even if she hardly remembered anything that he said, it was that he was no doubt enthusiastic about everything as he was always laughing crazily or over exaggerating his statements.
“Oi, speakin’ of crimes from around the world; I don’t recognize yer accent. Where are you from?”
“I’m from South Korea.”
“What in the world is that?”
“It’s a country in Asia, just west to the cost of Japan.”
The description was clearly going over his head, to which she shook her head, “Never mind, don’t worry about it.”  “Heh, whatever you say Dee-va. C’mon, let’s go see what Roadie’s got planned for cookin’ tonight.”
The conversation wasn’t forced or extremely awkward, but the whole situation that Hana had found herself in was making her sick to her stomach. She knew mentally that she hadn’t eaten since midnight the night before, and no doubt her body was starving and yet she had no physical appetite. Nonetheless, she followed Junkrat as he hobbled down the iron wrought stairs, moving slightly slower than Junkrat. Despite the fairly severe injury to his left side, he still firmly planted his regular hand on the railing, flipping his body off of the side instead of walking down and around like any normal human would. Something about his eccentricity was very amusing to Hana, and she laughed as she followed Junkrat into the room where Roadhog was finishing up his work on his scrap gun, setting it neatly on a hanging rack on the wall.
“Roadie, meet D.Va!”  Junkrat exclaimed, presenting both of his hands with open palms in a very overly dramatic pose, hunched over as if he was announcing her presence to the very world itself. Hana very cautiously stepped into the room, noticing Junkrat’s strange posture and nervously waving her injured arm to Roadhog. “Hi.”  “Hey.” He responded in the deep voice she recalled from the night before. He waited a moment for Junkrat to move over and hop into a sitting position on a nearby desk to speak again. “How is your arm?”
“It’s doing better, I’ll make it through.” She responded with a soft, authentic smile, to which Roadhog grunted once more, before their loud companion once again bellowed out in his maniacal voice. “Not to interrupt, but I’m starved! Whadd’we got ta eat Roadie?”
Roadhog remained silent as Junkrat questioned what they would be eating for dinner that night. She could swear that if his pig mask could show emotion, it would be showing the most unamused expression to the lankier junker. The former motioned his hand as he moved towards D.Va, who quickly stepped out of his way. Junkrat was the first to barrel past D.Va, eagerly following Roadhog into the open factory floor, with Hana following slowly behind. She felt a slight pain in her chest, perhaps it was from being scared awake earlier, and tried to ignore it as she watched Roadhog move into room where they had bandaged Jamison earlier. She watched as Roadhog opened a cabinet in the room, exposing blank silver cans which were then tossed one to each individual. “Beans, gotta get more food soon, ‘Rat.”  “You got it mate, we’ll go out tomorrow evenin’ once me side is all healed up.”
Hana caught her can of beans with her good arm, noticing that there was an easy open pop top. She opened the can and tilted her head, she was not all that familiar with canned beans, as it wasn’t part of her normal diet in Korea, but nonetheless she could feel the hunger start to slowly rise in her stomach, it would have to suffice. She looked around for a moment as Junkrat hopped onto the table he had woken up from and opened his can, pulling a utensil from out of practically nowhere and going to town on his dinner. She tilted her head slightly, watching Jamison devour the meal before Roadhog caught her attention by gently nudging her arm. She glanced over and was met with a spoon being offered to her, to which she thanked him and began to eat her own food. The texture of the beans was different, smooth but she did recognize the distinguishable taste of pork, it made the beans a bit easier for her to eat.
The western sunset on the Australian horizon shined it’s brilliant orange light into the open building, illuminating the factory floor in a strangely beautiful light. Once she had finished her food, she tossed the can where the two junkers had tossed theirs and placed her spoon on a nearby box, hoping that it would be there should they eat again. She stretched her arms over her head slightly as Junkrat and Roadhog moved past her and exited back out into the spacious floor. She followed behind soon after, watching as Roadhog scaled the iron wrought stairs and ascend to the room which she had rested in earlier. “Have a nice rest Roadie, I’ll take first watch with D.Va.”
“Eh? First watch?”
“Yeah, we might be hidden by that rock out there, but given we’re criminals and nobody ‘round here quite likes either of us, we still have watch shifts.”
“Oh, I see.”
“C’mon, I’ll show ya some of my work!” Junkrat beamed proudly, motioning for Hana to follow him over to a crowded work desk. The desk was covered in crinkled papers, scrap metal parts, and various tools. The closer she got to the table, the more quickly she realized that they were intricate blueprints for various bombs, mines, and even some guns. She felt her jaw drop slightly as she looked over the various papers, picking one of the visibly older and crinkled ones up and examining it, while Junkrat plopped on a tall stool and began to work on the creation at the center of his table.
“You’ve made all of these?”
“Well most of ‘em. Some were just ideas, that was one of my first pipe bombs that you’re holdin’!”
“Wow, this is really cool.” Hana commented as she moved a little closer to Jamison, watching as he delicately worked on a flat-bottomed circular device. “What are you working on?”
“Well this is one of me favorites, D.Va! It’s a mine that I use to help me get around.”
“Oh wow, but isn’t that dangerous?”
“Who ever said that I was careful?”
Hana laughed in response to that, pointing at his side. “Yeah, that’s kinda obvious.” She watched as he worked so carefully on the device, it was shocking to her. She had hardly seen him sit still for that long of a period of time, she could tell that he was one to pride in his creations. She took a minute to think as the sharp pains came back to her chest, causing her to cough a few times away from Junkrat. She had noticed that the air was thicker, no doubt thanks to the radiation disaster years prior, that was probably the cause of her cough. With time she figured that she’d adjust, and it was as she was thinking about time that something caught her attention.
“Hey, wait a minute. Do you remember my mech suit?”
“Well o’ course, sheila! That was quite a spectacular clunker.” Junkrat responded as he finished placing the final wire to his concussion mine, nodding his head in approval and setting it off to the corner of his desk, turning his ember ridden head of hair to the smaller girl.
“What if...we build another one for me?”
“Build you a new mech?”
“Yeah, I mean I’m not really going to have much to do while the heat dies down on us. Besides, when we part ways, you won’t have to take me anywhere.”
Junkrat paused for a moment, tilting his head and scratching his chin as he contemplated her idea. It could prove fairly entertaining, and he could also learn how she managed to create that beautiful explosion. “Alright, let’s build a mech!”
“Yes! Thank you Junkrat!” Hana cheered eagerly, pumping a fist in the air. If her years in the Korean military had given her anything, it was a near eidetic memory of the interior skeleton and exterior shell of the MEKA units. She searched around Junkrat’s desk for a blank piece of paper, which she quickly found. She began to look for a pencil or something to draw with, when Jamison offered her one. She smiled softly to him, taking the pencil from his hand and slightly bowing her head.
“Heh, that’s the third time you’ve done that, sheila. Dunno what it means but it’s weird lookin’.”
“Oh, it’s a sign of respect in my culture, it’s second nature to do it.”
Junkrat raised a slightly flaming eyebrow, making an inquisitive noise before bowing his head to her in an obnoxious fashion, which caused her to laugh heartily. “Now that looks weird!” She responded through laughs, which Junkrat dismissed with a wave of his hand.
“Get ta work on yer mech, girlie. Yer crowdin’ my work space.”   D.Va couldn’t be all that surprised by his sudden change in attitude, she was after all dealing with an unpredictable criminal. She looked down to the ground, gently pulling the ponytail holder from her hair and letting her brown locks drape freely around her shoulders as she exited his work station area. She moved to one of the conveyer belts in the open room, moving a large box over towards the flat surface and sitting on it cross legged. She quickly began to sketch the skeletal structure of the MEKA units as best as she could from memory. Things are looking up. I finally have a way to get out of this forsaken wasteland and back to civilization.

Day 33 - Boeing and sushi
I am getting comfortable sleeping on blow up air mattresses, which is not something that I thought I would do. Couldn’t do it on an ongoing basis, but while travelling it is a very suitable and useful option. I wake up in my usual early-ish timeframe only to realise that everyone back home is asleep, and that this West Coast time difference between Sydney and Seattle is a true pain. Deciding to make breakfast, I default to my age old tradition of making scrambled eggs and cottage cheese.
I am really taken aback by just how yellow the egg yolks are here in the States. They are literally the highlighter yellow colour that you used in your schooling years, but then again maybe I am going a bit crazy because I could swear that our egg yolks in Australia are far more orange in colour. I take a photo of the scramble and will do the definitive test in a couple of days when I get home.
With breakfast and a shower done, it is time to saddle up and go exploring. It is a consistent ten degrees Celsius here in Seattle, always overcast and gloomy with the occasional rain that reminds me of why I have never wanted to live in a place like London. I order an Uber and go on my merry way to explore the Boeing factory where all the planes are made which to me seems pretty cool, as I am picked by a young and scrawny driver who looks and dresses like he wouldn’t be out of place at a methodone clinic.
It is about half an hour drive on the highway, with very little of the bad traffic that Roman and I got while exploring, so I arrive at the Boeing factory rather quickly. The place isn’t very well labelled and it strikes me as quite odd given that it would be a decently popular tourist attraction. We roll up to the gates and speak to a security guard who tells us to go to another gate around the corner, so we do exactly that. When we get to this gate, the guy tells us to park nearby and enter via another building, which looks very small and reminds me of the demountable buildings we had in primary school. I say goodbye to my Uber driver and enter the building which most definitely is not labelled and certainly does not look like a very welcoming tourist entrance. Sitting around are a few guys who look like they have come to do some serious work, and I walk up to the front counter feeling very unsure of myself at this point. I ask for where the tours start from and am informed that this is an actual worksite for Boeing, where employees work and that any tours are done on a business level with an escort and a full security screening. I realise that this is why everything felt so out of place and the strange looks the security guards were giving me. I am also told that the tours might be done at a place called Everett, which a quick Google reveals is over an hour drive away.
Being quite displeased with myself and my bad decision making, I go to the small shopping centre across the road which is basically a barebones industrial complex set up for the employees to be able to go somewhere for lunch. I grab a turkey and cheese sub from a Subway like chain called Potbellies, which tastes fairly bland but it is good enough to fill my stomach and soothe some of the anger and disappointment at myself. Praying to any deity that will hear me, I open the Uber app and order up a car to take me to Seattle proper because then at least I’ll be in a big city.
My prayers are answered as I am picked up by a portly gentleman in a very large seven seater American machine of a car and driven back to Seattle to see the Giant Wheel. Once again, very little traffic to disturb us sees me arrive to downtown Seattle in about half an hour, and the city traffic starts to gridlock. Deciding that I need to stretch my legs somewhat, I exit the car early and walk down to the pier where the Wheel is. It is good to breathe the city air again and see actual buildings and people, rather than just an industrial centre made for working.
The Giant Wheel is a big Ferris Wheel, ala London, and you can sit in one of the cars as it goes around to get a decent view of the city. Given how the pier is at the bottom of the hill and a bunch of high rise buildings are built at the top of the hill, I struggle to reconcile how you would see anything meaningful. I hang around the Wheel and the pier for a bit, taking some photos and enjoying the atmosphere before I move on to my next destination which is the Pike’s Market Place.
Tumblr media
It is basically a giant market spread over six levels that has all types of delights and wonders for customers to purchase, from food, sweets, drinks, trinkets and all the way to a magicians shop.
I end up wandering around and arrive at a place selling fish where a huge crowd has gathered. Believing it is something special, I hang around for a bit, acutely aware that no one is purchasing anything, instead just standing in a semi circle a few metres away from the shop intently watching what’s going on as the people working there go about their own business. And then I remember. There was a video shown to us a few years ago during a training event that talked about how important it is to enjoy and have fun with the people that you work with, and the example used was the fish shop that I was standing in front of. They do fresh fish at nice prices and all that, but they got really famous for having fun at the workplace and throwing entire fish to each other when someone orders it, and this is the reason why everyone has lined up and is waiting for it to happen. About five minutes goes past, and the spectacle begins. It feels like the military where the lead guy yells something out and every employee answers them back in unison. The energy in the room went up several notches as the fish was taken by one guy and tossed several metres in distance over the counter. The second guy caught the fish and it was funny to see all the water and ice splash away onto the bystanders who happen to be behind him trying to get the best view. With that completed, I got to taste a sample of their wares which in this case was the best garlic pepper smoked salmon that I’ve ever had.
Tumblr media
With that done, my next destination became the Space Needle, a big observation deck similar to Sydney’s Centrepoint Tower or the Toronto CN Tower that I visited several weeks back. This one happens to be a decent walk away, so I take to exploring the streets and make my way there. Distances in the US are highly deceptive and it feels like I end up walking half way around the city, even walking past the Bosnian place where we had dinner several nights ago. I get to the Space Needle and it really doesn’t seem that high, especially when compared to the Sky Tree in Tokyo or any of the big towers in Hong Kong. I take a few photos but as I get close I see that the tower is under renovation, however it is still open for people to go up even with all the covers and the scaffolding around.
Tumblr media
I really do wonder what the point is of going up to an observation tower that you cannot see out of, so I scrap that idea and decide to wander around the grounds and the gardens. There is a small garden that is made up of glass sculptures but that doesn’t interest me too much, so I take myself to a nearby park bench, in an actual garden and spend some time resting and reading my new book.
Tumblr media
It is a good way to spend half an hour, sitting in nature, enjoying the peace and serenity while engrossed in a book. Alas though, a man has to make a move, so I ponder what that will be given that I have hit up Seattle’s main tourist attractions already and it is only about 2:30pm, and my dinner plans with Roman aren’t until 6:30pm. Deciding that I would continue exploring, I strike out towards our restaurant meeting point which is in an area called Capitol Hill. Turns out that the Hill part of the name wasn’t a joke, and the hills which are definitely plural in this case, provide quite a workout. After an hour of scaling the city equivalent of Everest, I realise that I have about three more hours to kill before dinner, so I do what any real red blooded male would do and look for the nearest bar.
Lo and behold a highly rated bar is about ten metres away from me, and even more surprisingly it is open at 3pm on a Monday. I walk in and there are two other patrons already there with one bartender, chatting away amicably as I take a seat at the bar. The bartender ends up being a Chrimeian guy, which for those of you that don’t know is a disputed territory is what was formerly USSR, and sits in a modern day area that depending on who you ask is either Ukrainian or Russian. Similar to me, this guy escaped with his family when he was ten years old and has lived in Seattle ever since. We all keep chatting away as several more people join us when I am about half way through my dark porter beer, and the drinks keep flowing. My second beer is from a local brewery that features Blood Orange in the beer name, so it obviously has to be tried. Luckily for me, it is delicious!
Few more people take a seat around me and I get chatting to the locals about all of the observations that I’ve made with my travels around the States, which provides us with some interesting conversations while we make our way through happy hour. Happy hour at this establishment means you get a beer and a whiskey shot, which in America is a double shot, for the low, low price of $6.
Tumblr media
Bad decisions make for the best stories, but luckily for me there weren’t any bad decisions, just lots of drinks and fun conversations at a dive bar while one of the Batman movies was playing on the big TV screen. Time to leave for dinner, and as I am joined by Roman I realise that the last few hours of drinks has only cost me $22 USD including tip which makes me even happier than even the alcohol did!
Our choice for dinner is a highly recommended Japanese restaurant where we are promptly seated and treated to some very delicious food indeed. There was a nicely cut wagyu steak, fresh salmon sashimi and all manner of different sushi all of which managed to go some way to filling our bellies. Our plan was always dinner and then yet another hidden cocktail bar that isn’t too far from there.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The thing with this hidden cocktail bar is that it is inside a deli which sells bagels and other takeaway food items, and the way you enter this particular bar is through a very large fridge door. Not an actual fridge, but a door that has been made to look like an old fridge door for the deli and that you would never think to open.
Tumblr media
Upon opening it, we are treated to a place that looks like someone’s hidden library, with books lining one wall and the bar lining another.
Tumblr media
The cocktail menu is nice and we order up our drinks with mine being a version of the whiskey sour, and for food we get a large jacket potato that is stuffed like a Reuben sandwich with a bunch of cold cuts of juicy meat. We spend the entire time chatting away on matters large and small before deciding to head home. Our Uber driver for the evening is an elderly gentleman who picks us up in a very large Lincoln sedan that is dripping in leather seats and wood everywhere, which is quite a luxurious way to get home and go straight to bed.
A full day in Seattle that consisted of going to the wrong place and then finding my way back to civilisation, wandering around and running into some awesome places before settling down for dinner and drinks, is a day that can be in the end considered a success. Tomorrow is my last full day in Seattle before I fly back to LA for a day and then onwards to home, so let’s see what adventures await me tomorrow!
Your hidden cocktail bar adventurer,
Boj

How to choose a massage seat cover?
Cheap massage seat very popular solution for its simplicity and its purchase price, the massage seat is placed on a chair or an armchair that we already have in our furniture. It is very easy to store and set up, so it doesn't take up too much space at home.
There are many references, and there are many differences between each of them. The size of the seat, the massage amplitude, the types of massage, the comfort of use, the possible settings and the different options will make the difference in your choice.
The dimensions of the massage seat
This is an important criterion, because not all seats are necessarily suitable for all body types. A seat that massages from the lower back to the shoulders or the neck will not be as satisfactory for a person of 1.60 m as for a giant of 1.90 m. As a general rule, if you are between 1.65 m and 1.80 m tall, for a normal build, then you will have no problem and almost all massage seats will adapt to you.
The settings are important, however. Indeed, some chairs like the  Homedics SGM-425H-EU  offer many adjustments, which allow all users to adapt the massage surface to their liking. Thus, all morphologies find their account. Obviously, between a massage seat offering adjustment possibilities and a standard seat, the prices vary greatly. It is thus possible to adjust the height, but above all the massage width. It is in my opinion an essential element to be sure to be able to use this material properly.
Comfort and ease of use
These are important criteria since some massage lovers will find it difficult to adapt to devices offering very hard massage heads. Some manufacturers also choose heads equipped with gel to make the massage softer and often more pleasant. This is the case with the  Homedics SBM-600H-EU .
Anyway, even if your massage seat seems painful the first few times, you should know that it usually takes a period of adaptation of a few massages to finally take a lot of pleasure. It is therefore always necessary to suffer slightly at the start to finally receive the pleasant and relaxing massages so hoped for.
For as easy use as possible, it is preferable to use a seat equipped with a remote control with a sufficiently long cord. So you can make the various settings and start a program while already being perfectly installed.
Massages offered
This is where the different devices will stand out. For example, you can find massage seats, like the Medisana MC 810 , which will simply offer relaxing massages by vibrations. There will be several possible zones (lower, upper back, shoulders, buttocks…) and different intensities, but no real massages strictly speaking. The vibration massage, however, allows the user to relax and there is no risk of pain. You can also sometimes use this type of massage seat in the car.
We can then find the rolling. This is a massage technique that is performed through the action of rollers or balls present in the mattress of the device. The rollers then move up and down and right to left and can rotate on one or more axes as they move along the spine. This effectively relaxes muscles all over the back, but also the neck and shoulders.
Shiatsu massage is present on more and more massage seat models. The massage heads here must reproduce the movements that a masseuse performs using these thumbs, the palm of her hand or her elbows. This type of massage is done by more or less significant pressure combined with percussion. It is a program that is intended to be revitalizing and perfect to prepare the body for physical exertion. It is also great for relieving muscle tension.
We can also sometimes find a massage with 4 hands. This allows you to work several areas of the back at the same time, and thus relax more quickly. It is then possible to choose between shiatsu, rolling or even tapping, but with 4 pressure zones simultaneously. It is effective and above all very pleasant.

Some options
The main option that can be found on many references is that the seat or massage heads are heated. This allows the muscles to relax more quickly, and it is obviously more comfortable to use, especially in winter. Do not hesitate to consult our tests to find out if this function is really efficient on the device you are targeting. Indeed, some massage seats have this option, but we do not notice a big difference when it is engaged.
Rarer but yet very interesting, the option to target and stay on a fixed area gives the user the possibility to get rid of a persistent muscle knot. It is usually the relatively high-end massage seats that offer this feature, which may be essential depending on your profile and needs.
Choosing a massage office chair
Best office chair for this type of massage chair, do not expect miracles in terms of performance. We only find massage office chairs that simply offer vibration massage. However, this product should not be denigrated, which can be a powerful ally, both for your ability to stay focused and to relieve muscles that have been numb for too long by a sitting position.
Indeed, the vibrations provided by this type of device relax muscles and nervous tension. This gives the possibility in a few minutes, to lower our level of stress, to relax, and thus to start working again with a high level of performance.
Selection criteria
The first important point to choose this type of chair, is obviously the seat. Before thinking about the well-being of massage, you need to sit as well as possible. It would indeed be unfortunate to relieve back pain that your chair would cause itself. Homcom understood this well, and the manufacturer offers a very comfortable armchair, offering a very good quality seat whether you weigh 60 or 100 kg.
It is also necessary to ensure the strength and robustness of the chair. It is of course a working tool that you want to keep for a long time. It will welcome you every day, and the fabrics and materials should be as tough as possible.
Finally, the number of massage zones is of course essential, the more there are, the better. You can then vary the pleasures, and choose different programs. Sometimes you will enjoy the vibrations in the lower back, and other times it will be your shoulders that need to be relaxed. There must also be several levels of intensity. Depending on your build or your feelings, you will need more or less power.
Possible options
Usually you will have nothing to offer other than the soothing heat option. It is always a plus in order to properly and quickly relax the back muscles. This is really very appreciable, especially in winter if you have trouble heating your office, you will almost be happy to get to work.
In principle, your office massage chair is mounted on casters, in order to be moved as easily as possible. If it doesn't, it's best to make sure it's not too heavy. It is a seat that we manipulate several times a day, so it must be as simple as possible.

 Choose your massage chair
effective massage chair The one that we really call "massage chair" is the chair which generally finds its place in the living room and which will be used as much to relax in front of the TV as to practice some massages. Here the price differences are really huge. You can find massage chairs for a few hundred euros like the Homcom lounge chair and its simple vibration massages, or you can turn to very complete devices, which generally cost 10 times more expensive like the Prince Tecnovita , but which allow incredible and above all very effective massage sessions.
We will therefore necessarily choose this massage chair according to our means, but not only. There are many criteria to allow us to choose the massage chair that will be best suited to our needs.
Different types of massage
Exactly like massage seats, massage chairs can offer many different programs and massages. As specified a few lines above, the lowest-end models are generally simply armchairs offering vibration massages. It's nice, it relaxes, but nothing to do with a real massage that kneads the muscles.
Shiatsu is of course very present on most medium or high-end models. On some devices, you will actually have the impression that two massage therapist hands are acting on your muscles, rubbing and kneading your back with great efficiency.
Percussions or tapping will also be very often part of the game. It gives the impression of a light pat on the back, a bit like Swedish or Thai massages. It is ideal for increasing blood flow and thus getting rid of too much muscle stiffness.
The bearings or rolling are in principle on the program. They stretch the muscles on either side of the spine. It is a very popular massage that generally relaxes very well and helps fight various back pain. A little painful at the start, you always end up asking for more.
Massage areas
Some armchairs will only massage your back, others will also focus on relaxing your neck, and finally some will take care of your calves and even your feet particularly well. It's all a matter of desire and need. Some athletes will need a full massage, especially on the legs to recover or to prepare for physical exertion. Others will simply need to have their shoulders and neck massaged effectively. It is therefore necessary to learn about all the possibilities offered by the different massage chairs, and make your choice accordingly.
Tilt
Some chairs offer a very slight recline, and others a full recline. This is obviously important, since the greater the inclination, the deeper the massage will be. The weight of the body presses more forcefully on the massage heads when you are lying down, and thus they press more effectively on the muscles. Some chairs tilt up to 135 °, and others will go up to 180 °. Even if we will not always use the maximum inclination, it is a significant plus than being able to fully lay the backrest.
Relaxation massage
The look of the armchair
Of course, even if you have found the chair of your dreams in terms of use and massage characteristics, it still has to adapt properly to your furniture. It is not a piece of furniture that you put away once you have used it. It takes up space, it is heavy, and it will therefore very often take center stage in your living room, or in an important room of the house. Fortunately, the manufacturers have understood this constraint, and they generally do not offer neon pink armchairs with green dots, but rather material that is both sober and modern. So massage chairs are often very similar from one brand to another, and they adapt to most interior decorations.
Choose an armchair you like, because it will stay in front of your eyes for many, many years to come. A piece of furniture that becomes unpleasant to your liking will end up giving you the opposite of what you are looking for with a massage chair. Relaxation also involves aesthetics and the visual comfort that an object gives us.
Some tips
For a massage chair that costs several thousand dollars, be sure to check that it has a sufficiently large warranty. The most serious manufacturers generally offer a 5-year guarantee, beware of devices with too short guarantees, the manufacturer does not show confidence in his product.
There are also often testing periods of between 30 and 90 days. This is again a guarantee of quality. If the manufacturer offers to test the device for free, and to reimburse you for it in case of dissatisfaction, it is because he believes in his product and in its capacity to seduce you. You then have very little reason to hesitate.
It is a mechanical and electronic object, so there is a risk of breakdowns. Now, most massage chairs have a modular design, that is to say, most parts are easily removable, in order to be replaced or repaired individually. This is not the case with all devices, however, and sending such a heavy chair to a repairer can be very expensive.
Finally, even if it is possible to find used massage chairs at often very attractive prices, this is a solution that we do not recommend. Indeed, it is really a sensitive device that it is better to know new. You can buy a second-hand wheelchair, having the impression that everything is working well, but ultimately with less performance than that of a new product. Not to mention that you will not have any warranty and that the final price will eventually swell over the repairs. For this type of device, choosing a new one is essential.

Hi there :-) just winding down for the evening in Washington DC at Stan’s house. Played Baltimore last night and Pittsburgh the night before that, and Philly the night before that. Peeped a bunch of art including the Hilma af Klint exhibit at the Guggenheim in NYC with Jeff and Jeannette which I give a 10.0 out of ten on the pitchfork scale. Me and Sydney visited the Mattress Factory to see some okay Yayoi Kusama infinity rooms (7.6/10) while Jen soaked up the luxuries the Pittsburgh Wyndham Grand had to offer. And I was so stoked to learn from a merch booth customer last night that the Baltimore Museum of Art had a John Waters exhibition, so we all had a good laugh there and then I bought some Divine coffee beans in the gift shop which look gross. 8.6 out of ten because they didn’t have any prints in the gift shop. I’ve been colouring a lot and my markers are starting to run out of ink. Contemplating the remarkable consistency of venue staff fashion/style across the continent. Grateful for the amount of time to think tour affords me.
Me and TJ have big plans to play tennis tmr I hope it happens! Bye for now!

Choosing Between Firmer or Softer Custom Mattress Australia
The type of mattress you choose plays a crucial role in getting a good night's sleep. With so many options available, it can be challenging to decide whether a firmer or softer mattress is the right choice.
In the context of custom mattress Australia, understanding your sleep needs and preferences is critical to making the best decision for your health and comfort.
Understanding Firmness Levels
Mattress firmness is often rated on a scale from 1 to 10, with 1 being extremely soft and 10 being very firm. However, these ratings can be subjective as they depend on individual perceptions and needs. A custom mattress can be tailored to meet these specific firmness preferences, ensuring a perfect fit for every sleeper.
Benefits of a Firmer Mattress
1.    Support: Firmer mattresses provide better support, particularly for those who sleep on their back or stomach. This support helps maintain proper spinal alignment, which can reduce the risk of back pain.
2.    Weight Distribution: Firmer mattresses evenly distribute body weight, preventing pressure points that can cause discomfort. This is especially beneficial for heavier individuals.
3.    Durability: Generally, firmer mattresses tend to be more durable than softer ones. They maintain their shape and support over time, providing long-lasting comfort.
Benefits of a Softer Mattress
1.    Pressure Relief: Softer mattresses conform more closely to the body, providing relief for pressure points, particularly for side sleepers who may experience pressure on their shoulders and hips.
2.    Comfort: Many people find softer mattresses more comfortable as they offer a plush, cushioned feel. This can be particularly appealing for those with joint pain or conditions like arthritis.
3.    Motion Isolation: Softer mattresses often excel in motion isolation, making them a good choice for couples. Movement on one side of the bed is less likely to disturb the other sleeper.
Factors to Consider When Choosing Firmness
1.    Sleeping Position: Your preferred sleeping position is one of the most significant factors in determining mattress firmness. Back sleepers often benefit from medium to firm mattresses, side sleepers usually prefer softer to medium firmness and stomach sleepers generally need firmer support to prevent sinking.
2.    Body Weight: Heavier individuals might find firmer mattresses more supportive, preventing them from sinking too deeply into the mattress. Conversely, lighter individuals might prefer softer mattresses that offer enough cushioning without feeling overly firm.
3.    Health Concerns: Those with specific health issues, such as back pain or arthritis, should consider how different firmness levels affect their condition. Firmer mattresses can help with back pain by promoting proper spinal alignment, while softer mattresses might be better for joint pain by providing cushioning.
4.    Personal Preference: Ultimately, personal comfort is paramount. Trying out different firmness levels can help determine which feels best for you. Rockdale Mattrass Factory offers trial periods, allowing you to test the mattress at home before making a final decision.
Customising Your Mattress
Opting for a custom mattress allows you to tailor the firmness to your exact needs. Custom mattresses can combine different materials and firmness levels to create a personalised sleep surface. For instance, you might choose a firmer core for support with a softer top layer for added comfort. This customisation ensures that you get the best of both worlds, enhancing your overall sleep quality.
Tumblr media
Conclusion
Choosing between a firmer or softer custom mattress depends on various factors, including your sleeping position, body weight, health concerns, and personal preference.
Whether you opt for a firm or soft mattress, a custom mattress Australia ensures you get the perfect fit for a restful night's sleep.

Personal Study
The theme abandoned is often seen in a negative light. Discuss how and why photographers have challenged this statement in a creative way?
Artist in the past have addressed the same theme as I am doing by exploring abandoned ruins of historical past events like coliseums from the roman times and castles from the Victorian era.
Abandoned structures are perhaps the most common example of urban exploration. At first they are vandalised by locals with graffiti and other acts of vandalism. Common abandonments include amusement parks, elevators, factories, power plants, missile silos, fallout shelters, hospitals, asylums, and schools and poor houses. In Japan, abandoned infrastructure is known as Haikyo. Damage during World War II, the 1980s real estate bubble. Niki Feijen is a contemporary photographer who, in 2010 Feijen visited the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. In this historical event a catastrophic nuclear accident occurred in 1986 the entire city of Pripyat, all 50,000 inhabitants, were evacuated within 48 hours. Most of the belongings of the evacuated inhabitants were left behind and never returned to again. This is a good abandoned place as it is silent from the absence of living creatures and background noise and looks like everything is at standstill from that very day of the incident. Abandonment can relate to the issue of housing and how people can’t afford to maintain their properties/house placements.
The photographer Iwan Baan can back this up. This is because he explores abandoned places that have been inhabited, as he says, “what I find really fascinating is what happens when architects and planners leave and these places become appropriated by people, like here in Chandigarh, India” (Baan 2013). This displays how abandoned can be beautiful as it proves that with something that is thrown away and wanted can be wanted by the people that really need it. It also confirms that you can make something that shouldn’t have any value be given value.
This can be seen in the image taken by Iwan Baan as it showcases how people have built a community with what they can find and use around them, for example the habitant in this picture has the built a gym using spare parts left over from an un built elevator. It also indicates how the inhabitant brings the people together by giving them the opportunity to build their own stable working community.
Iwan Baan relates to the question as explores the positives that arise of abandoned for example abandoned buildings are used by people that don’t have anywhere to live, Baan photographs of abandoned places that have been inhabited by people.
In a recent interview Baan said “Over the past seven years, I’ve been following my fascination with the built environment, and for those of you who know me, you would say that this obsession has led me to live out of a suitcase 365 days a year. Being constantly on the move means that sometimes I am able to catch life’s most unpredictable moments” (Baan, 2013). This displays that Baan is quite passionate about discovering places that are visually interesting to observe. Iwan Baan addresses theme such as deserted, architecture and you could also say he addresses culture. Baan made the work to challenge a long-standing tradition of depicting buildings as isolated and static by representing people in architecture and showing the building’s environment ultimately trying “to produce more of a story or a feel for a project”. (Baan, 2013)
Iwan Baan’s intention is to capture and understand what happens when architects and planners leave and these places become appropriated by people, like here in Chandigarh, India, the city, which has been completely designed by the architect Le Corbusier. The message that he is trying to project is that instead of letting the building become abandoned you could let people that don’t have anywhere to live to stay in them. One of the places that Iwan Baan took some pictures is the notorious Tower of David in Caracas. This was one of his best series as it highlights the problems of wealth in countries Nearly 70% of people in Caracas, Venezuela live in slums that drapes like silk over the city’s hills. This building was supposed to be a dramatic symbol of wealth, but now it is home to temporary residents. The skyscraper, halted mid-construction in the early 1990s, was taken over by thousands of squatters in 2007. For years they turned the building into an informal community that was photographed, filmed. This building is now known, as the vertical slum. Iwan Baan was amazed by how the inhabitants were living and how they found solutions to the problems that they had. He said, “Within the tower, people have come up with all sorts of solutions in response to the various needs which arise from living in an unfinished tower. With no elevators, the tower is like a 45-story walkup. Designed in very specific ways by this group of people who haven't had any education in architecture or design.” (Baan, 2013) Baan was amazed by the architectural background and people that have been disregarded, have the knowledge and capabilities to do something that others couldn’t do. In the picture tittled ‘Abandoned Office Tower In Caracas’ you can see that they have settled in with the resources they need e.g. TV, food and mattresses. Iwan Baan said inhabitants made use of objects and possessions they have found to claim their space in the Tower.
Niki Feijen is an abandoned photographer he takes pictures of places as they were left frozen in time. Niki Feijen has travelled the world in search of crumbling beauty lurking beneath a thick layer of dust inside private bedrooms and public buildings. Niki Feijen’s work addresses themes such as Abandonment and architecture as Iwan Baan. Niki Feijen was fascinated by Abandonment when, as a child, he became obsessed with a creepy abandoned house not far from his home. He said in an interview by Daily Mail ‘I passed it a zillion times until finally I had the guts to have a peek inside,’ he recalled. ‘The adrenaline, the excitement. It was amazing and then years later Feijen was photographing rally races and rocks concerts when he came across pictures of decaying buildings that reignited his childhood passion for beautiful ruins. His ideal shooting locations are ghost towns, long-shuttered insane asylums, dilapidated hotels and castles frozen in time and looking like at any moment their inhabitants will walk through the door and reclaim their personal space. This highlights that he wants to show an abandoned location as if it has never been touched and has been stopped in time.
This can be seen in his latest work of Chernobyl, he has said that he never brings any props or rearranges anything before taking pictures on location because it takes away from the authenticity and doesn’t show an accurate representation of abandonment. The title to his recent series of photos is called ‘Frozen’. The title changes the way the viewers observe the work because it adds to the airiness that is being perceived, it allows us to think more about the photograph i.e. what happened before it was abandoned and why it is placed there.
In Frozen, one particularly unsettling and thought-provoking image consists of dusty old jackets and a woman's black leather purse hanging from hooks in a foyer, and a pair of dirty slippers left next to a rusty bicycle waiting for their owner to come home. This adds to the beauty of abandonment as it unlocks our imagination by making us think more about what is happening. This vast bedroom still bears the marks of its previous inhabitants, with white pillows resting on the two single beds joined together. This is one of the photographs, from his Frozen series, it is haunting as nothing is changed and you are given the creativity and imagination to put your own input in what happened. One of his more controversial photographs from his frozen series is the photograph from Chernobyl, as he showcases an incident that has effect people’s lives and illustrates how it was left behind or frozen in time.
Andrew Moore relates to the question as his large-format photographs are dense documentaries that depict the collision of the past, present, and future. When seen from the bird’s eye view, larger themes emerge. In a recent interview by Alec Quig.
Alec Quig said, “I was photographing small businesses, craft industries that were remnants of the 19th century industrialism that had persisted and were still in business. Only in a city like New Orleans could things like that exist. People were making brooms by hand. There were ladies sowing the lace linings for coffins. Strange Masonic buildings. Ice factories. ”This exhibits that he has a fascination of how things were back in the day and how he can make viewers relate to his work by reminiscing the past.
The themes that his work addresses is Abandonment, architecture and cultural. He addresses these themes to find narrative approaches of documentary photography and journalism to detail remnants of societies in transition. His parents were his source of inspiration him as his father Sydney Hart Moore, was a commercial architect, and his mother Patricia Lambdin Moore, was an editor at the New York Graphic Society, a Fine Art publisher. Moore’s parents supported his early interest in Photography; his father built him an attic darkroom and his mother introduced him to the works of Peter Beard. The intentions of the photographer are, to educate people on the culture behind it.  He said “It's all about getting into and discovering these places that have an incredible connection to the past, making a bridge between the subject, myself, and the viewer, bringing people into the work “(Moore). This demonstrates that these places having a connection with the past helps you think about what happened during that time and also gives you the sense of de ja vu. The photo titled ‘Cuba’ is of a theatre that was taken by Andrew Moore in Cuba. This was one of many pictures taken by Andrew Moore in his photo series titled ‘Cuba’. The title doesn’t change the way you thing of his work as he usually titles his work based on the location he is taking the picture e.g. ‘New York’ so this doesn’t have an impact as you see what you get.
From what I have discussed these three artists Iwan Baan, Niki Feijen and Andrew Moore all look at abandonment in a positive light as Iwan Baan, believes abandonment is a way to build a community and to give temporary residents a place to live. Niki Feijen, believes that abandonment is a way to reminisce because it leaves a story behind as the residents leave the building and all the objects are left in the places they’ve left it. Andrew Moore, believes Abandonment is a way to look back at the past and to see how things changed, so he believes its beautiful as it can have an impact on the future. Iwan Baan has the most impact on me as a person as he teaches us about inhabiting and how we should try to give people a place to stay when no one is using it. Niki Feijen’s work has an impact on me to as when exploring abandoned buildings, I’ve never saw it like he did but it has opened up the way I look at abandoned buildings. When researching these artists, it has influenced my work in component 1 as it changed the way I look at abandonment and also changes what I take pictures of.
