PSA: COMIC DRAMA
I've been slowly receiving critical, entitled, and passive-aggressive messages about the way I've been writing my comic! I wanted to address this behavior.
That being said, the majority of my readers have been nothing but positive! And when they spot a problem, they're kind about it. I really appreciate this; thank you to those who choose to be civil.
I'm making this post to address some issues, complaints, and questions I've seen. Let's take a look & see what we can discuss!
READ MORE UNDER THE CUT!
馃-> I want you to use my character in your comic, but you're not using them! Sometimes, a character doesn't quite fit my vision for the comic-- even when they're designs that I love! I really do try to use as many people's characters as possible. I think it adds to the world & makes the comic feel more full of life! But I can't accommodate everyone's desires.
馃悷->You're using my character in your comic, but you're not giving them enough screen time! Similar to the above issue, sometimes I don't think focusing on a particular character for any longer will serve the story well. Ultimately, I have final say on what happens in the comic. My advice is, if you feel your character isn't appearing enough, make your own content! Draw, write, craft, etc like I mention farther down below!
馃悹->You said you were going to use my diplomat/character(s), but you only drew them in 1-2 panels. Why aren't you using them more? Similar to the points above! I was never planning on going into a TON of depth with the diplomats-- the comic focus also drastically changed, as I mention below.
馃悺->You're using characters in the story that I don't like! Ahh that is too bad, but! In that case, you can always take a break from the comic & come back later to check if the characters are no longer being used, or maybe stop reading the comic altogether.
However! If you have concerns with how the character is portrayed because of legitimate sexual/violence/illicit/illegal issues, then that's another issue entirely and you should let me know.
馃->I thought this story was about rescuing Kenne, but now she's not even in the comic! I don't like the way this story is going! This is a big issue some people are having and I completely understand. There's been a lot of things going on behind the scenes that I haven't explained, which must be generating a lot of confusion.
Originally, @kenneduck and I were collaborating closely on this comic. Recently, the dynamic shifted, and we're now working on the comic separately. @kenneduck is now responsible for the part of the story that heavily features her characters, i.e. Princess Kenne's perspective of the rescue, her rescue effort, and what's happening in the Domain of the Luminous trench.
I am now working on a different angle of the story-- the diplomatic efforts of Zora's Domain in their attempt to negotiate for Princess Kenne's return. So, the story is still the same... the focuses have just changed and split!
馃->You reblogged my fan art and/or linked it in your comic directory-- does that make my content canon? Oooh, this is actually kind of a tough one! Normally, if something is in the comic directory, I consider it to be canon to the story. So, if you've drawn something, and I add it to my directory for a comic chapter, I'll consider it to have happened in real time.
THERE'S AN EXCEPTION! And it may be confusing, so I'm genuinely sorry! If you have drawn something where you are heavily modifying someone else's character--this means cosmetic changes, giving the character children/spouses/family, killing the character, altering their personality-- WITHOUT THEIR PERMISSION, then I cannot accept that as canon.
It's still fantastic that you drew/wrote/created something and I will probably put it in the MISCELLANEOUS section of the comic directory. I'VE MADE MISTAKES ON THIS! So, I've since updated the directory. And, sorry for all confusion on this issue! If you've made something & intended it to be canon, let's talk about it!
馃惓->I want to collaborate with you on your comic, can I do that? That's awesome! Maybe in the future, but right now I'm not taking on any more partners. Maybe you can make your own separate additions, with your character(s) like I mention below!
馃悪>I want to make fan art, can I do that? You absolutely can. Go for it. This was originally meant to be a very interactive comic, so draw/write/create away!!!
馃->I want to draw my character(s) doing something in the world of your comic, can I do that? You absolutely can. Go for it! Like I mentioned above, however, I may or may not deem it canon to the events of the comic. But even if I don't, I'll add it to the MISCELLANEOUS section of my comic directory! ...as long as you don't alterate someone's character without permission! If you've made something & intended it to be canon, let's talk about it!
馃惉->I want to make a character based on a Domain you created/idea you drew/etc., can I do that? Of course! Go for it. I love seeing what people make!
I know this is a lot of text, but it's better to be comprehensive! Please, keep in mind, I'm just one hobby artist making a comic for fun, with the spirit of interactivity and collaboration in mind. But it's impossible to keep that spirit going when people feel entitled and demand things of me that I am not obligated to give.
I queue out my pages several weeks in advance with the help of the people I'm working with, so what you see in the comic is the product of a lot of thought and work. You're getting something for free here, y'all. It ain't so serious!!!!
Anyways, thanks for reading this! And for reading the comic! Peace out 鉁岋笍

Ppl will complain about Pressure updates and devs while forgetting Pressure is NEW.
Ik tumblr has more users with common sense but the amount of tiktoks and tt users say that the game was at its PEAK two weeks after the game's release just bc you could climb Sebastian, he wasn't (visibly) married (it was always written into his character), and tolerated the players slightly more is INSANE.
Most games, at that, aren't at its peak gameplay and story a month after release!!
"The anti-climbing mechanic doesn't even fix anything!" Yeah because you climbed Sebastian several times over ofc at SOME point you're gonna get softlocked bro. Maybe try playing pressure for a reason aside from harassing seb.
I genuinely feel like the pressure fanbase tend to forget that Pressure is from roblox programmers in a small developing group. This isn't Hoyoverse or DevSisters where the game is fully polished with information on all characters and a finalized world building upon release because the company has more time, money, and skilled labor to develop that. It was made in ~1 year and a rushed release.
Not only that, but Pressure is a passion-project. It isn't driven by money, which means there's not much of an incentive to please the playerbase with fan service content that changes lore/characters so people can buy it. (Fan service as in any content made to make ppl happy) So, developers are going to choose what they want to do with the game bc they don't care whether or not you play. Zeal said so first thing in his interview with Breadian.
Things such as Sebastian killing walldwellers and the DiVine being able to kill you, Navi-AI turning into a new character, and several new room types are hinted to come to Pressure but nooo!!! Its somehow cooked and unsavable because of ONE form of characterization YOU deem incorrect not even knowing the character's lore. Right.

to be real for a second, i think there is a moment in the show where mike has a ~realization~ of sorts about his feelings but hasn't quite put two and two together yet.... and it's this:
this realization of "hey my feelings for will are actually maybe different than my feelings for my other friends, but i'm not sure why" happens at the end of season two. and then mike spends the entirety of season three acting sort of strange and different around will while having his relationship with him constantly juxtaposed with his relationship with el. reaching the end of that season which, despite all the supernatural shit going on, took the time to focus so heavily on those two relationships (and how fundamentally different they are), and having mike have the same realization he had at the end of season two makes no sense because it would mean he accomplished absolutely nothing in his emotional arc during the course season three
especially to claim that he still believes he has feelings for el going into season 4. especially to claim he still believes he has feelings for el by the end of season 4. it's to claim that he has not made any emotional progress in his relationships for at least two full seasons, that he's been going through all of this for it to not have made any conscious impact on him, and the changes in the way he acts from s2-3 and from s3-4 aren't a product of his character developing (growing, changing, to quote hopper's letter) but rather..... ? i don't know actually. just him feeling weird but not understanding himself at all. still. it just doesn't make sense to me. he's one of the main characters of the show, and to keep him emotionally stagnant for 4 out of 5 seasons (especially when we can see that his behavior is changing, that he has not been stagnant at all but rather deeply affected by everything) would be a disservice to his character, first of all, but also a disservice to the narrative which has been showing us his (as well as the other characters') struggle with growing up and growing into himself every season. and it simply doesn't align with what we're being shown
mike is already having realizations by the end of season two. but by the end of season three, he's starting to be really honest with himself about what they mean

update to the lost Flash prototype version of Fruit Ninja
so a long time ago, i made a post talking about this version of Fruit Ninja i discovered and later found out to be lost media. it's the original prototype version of the game, and it was available to play on the old Fruit Ninja Anniversary website from 2017 onward. Luke Muscat talked about it in his video 'How I Designed Fruit Ninja', and he shows footage of it at 4:41 seconds. in the original post i made about the site, i found an archive from 2021, tried to fetch the file from the site, got hit with a CORS policy error and found out that the place the network was trying to fetch the file from was turning up with a 404. yesterday and today, i've been trying to work around the CORS policy error by disabling web security on my browser, but i've turned up with absolutely no luck.
for those unaware, a CORS policy (or Cross Origin Resource Sharing policy) is basically a something that allows or disallows a browser to access an asset from a domain that differs from the original domain. there's a website on Mozilla that explains this better than i could, but the way i understand it is that if your browser tries to make a request to fetch something that's hosted on a website but originates from another domain (say, a file sharing website), its regulated by the CORS policy to make sure the site you're fetching this information from is secure. if it's allowed, the content loads normally. if it isn't, the request to fetch that content is ignored (at least i think that's how it works). this, along with the 404, was what was stopping me from being able to fetch the swf from the site.
so, here's the main update: i can't find it. i've tried everything i know how to. disabling web security lead to the discovery that the swf itself was hosted on a separate URL from the main Fruit Ninja Anniversary website that apparently wasn't archived on the IA, and it was also being stopped by the CORS policy. punching that URL into the Wayback Machine turns up with a snapshot from 2022 that's just a 404, and since the Wayback Machine works by fetching every available snapshot of that URL it has in its library to load the content, it's always fetching that specific snapshot, and that's why it can't load the. no matter what archive of the Anniversary page i use, it's gone. it's lost-lost. i've even checked the self-hosted version of the Fruit Ninja Anniversary website on seanockert.com, but it's not there either. the only real options i have are scraping through every single Flash game archive i can find and hoping that someone saved it (which is a very low possibility), or to ask the original developer if they can send a copy my way (and even then, that option is an absolute last resort if nothing else works). i am pretty desperate at this point to find this thing and i'll look through everything i can to try to find it.
also, just to clear some extra stuff up: none of the Fruit Ninja games on Flashpoint are the prototype. none of them were made in Flash and they don't match up with the prototype. it was my first place to look and it unfortunately isn't there. additionally, the name of the swf file hosted on the Fruit Ninja Anniversary site is 'FruitNinjaHBF2010.swf'. searching this on the IA didn't bring up any results, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's not on there in some way. i'm really hoping this'll turn up again and that it's stashed away on the internet somewhere.
update 2: made a twitter thread! i hope this catches some more attention on there, i don't use twitter so this topic will be the only thing i post on that account.
