Mayura redesign. There were a lot of things I liked about her original design but the main thing I wanted was to amp up the peacock aspects since they have so much drama and vibrancy to their looks. I also wanted her color palette to have more peacock colors so I added a lot more green and toned down some of the pink.

I changed the pattern to be more like the actual feathers of a peacock. I lengthened the skirt and removed the feather/fur cuffs on her sleeves and neck. Peacocks have a lot of different types of feathers but none of them are super floofy as they’re generally pretty sleek so I wanted to reflect that in the design.

I also added a caplet and a top layer to her skirt both with the feather patterns. I also gave her gloves with claws like peacock nails, partly because I love chat noirs claws and I want them to be incorporated into more characters, especially since so many of the animals have claws or talons.

Finally I gave her a mask with markings like on the face of peacock and instead of the little hat piece thing I gave her a little accessory kind of like the ones from the flapper headbands. I thought her hair and stuff reminded me of a sleek 1920s look so I figured that would work.

To the little accessory I added plumes like the ones on the top of a peacocks head. They’re so specific i don’t know how any peacock based design could leave them out.

This redesign is kind of busy but I hope it’s not too overwhelming. The color palette gave me a hard time but I think I made it work. I want to see a non villain design of the peacock miraculous with a brighter color palette.

Well hello there... Alright, I'll admit it. She's my favorite, in cannon and for the redesigns. Love Nathalie, ever since Bubbler. My friend thought I would change my mind later? Nope, it has always and will always be her.

Keeping with the monstrous theme for the miraculous villains meant keeping the blue skin tone. It probably looks like scales but if you look closer the stuff around her eyes and going up to her hair is actually meant to be small feathers.

Civilian Nathalie sticks pretty close to her cannon design but with a grey undershirt instead of red to make the streak in her hair the only pop of color. Fun fact, in cannon when Nathalie gets sick only the streak in her hair turns gray, meaning her natural hair color is bright red and the black is the dye job. I like to believe the same is true here so I warmed up her hair instead of the cool tones I used for Marinette (and Kagami later)

Catalyst and The Collector have the same color pallet and very blatantly go together, like hell I was gonna change that. Instead she just looks more refined as opposed to Gabriel's wild hair.

As for the rewrite, Nathalie is still in love with Gabriel. Honestly honey, you can do better. But her primary motivation is actually to help Adrien. She's raised him just as much, if not more, than his actual parents. And she sees how much it hurts him to see Gabriel pull away even more, and with Emelie just gone. And she is under the impression that Gabriel has the same motivation. Not realizing until its too late that his intentions are far more selfish than hers.

Actually because of that her transformation is less monstrous than Gabe's. While his entire head splits open, hers are superficial. Still painful, but the magic recognizes her potential for change and doesn't force her to suffer the way it does Gabriel. But unfortunately, the peacock miraculous is still damaged. And Nathalie is paying the price for her hopes.

Since I’m putting less pressure on myself to only post finished artwork, here’s my Nathalie/Mayura refresh WIPs

I started these a while ago and they’ve just been sitting there ever since.

I didn’t feel like Nathalie needed to change that much, I’m pretty satisfied with her look. Only change is her hair is less flat on her skull.

I had a lot of fun re-imagining Mayura. Drawing a lot of inspiration from Mugler to make her a striking baddie. Also how petty of her to be inspired by a different designer than Gabe. (Note: Nathalie hates Gabriel in this version. She works for him because she has no choice (black-mail + good pay) but she’s not happy with the situation. There is NO GabeNath in this reboot, no sir!)

And Mariposa, Nathalie’s old Miraculous back when she was a superhero (!!!), but shhh that’s a secret. Don’t tell anyone. She’s a lot more bug-like than other butterfly holders, to match her partner. Just piled on the Mugler for this one too. I highly recommend checking his work out, it is STUNNING. It’s THE bad bitch collection. (Also I just noticed I forgot to add the butterfly brooch SHIT)

I know that both my Mayura and Mariposa designs kinda go against my attempt to keep the colour palettes limited. But they’re fabulous so I don’t care.

Just, fuck. The bolder lines make her pop so much more than in the original. I also made some minor adjustments to make it like the fan in canon.

I change Rose’s superhero name because I kinda disliked the name “Pigella” and Mylene name as well, not because is something wrong with her name, but because I change the power of the mouse miraculous

The theme I had was like magicians assistant meets like a knight figure

1 is a simple design really, easier to move in with a bit of a flamboyant look to it!

It’s more like a Robin Hood type style mixed with the magicians assistant

2 is more like showyish and closer to the og design with the dress! I had to keep the cuffs of the sleeves like the feathers cause yeah

This is more like a subdued design simple but still beautiful in its own way

For both designs I wanted to keep the turtleneck so we can still see it’s Nathalie and her own choices have influenced her time as mayura

Hawkmoth 😈🦋

I know hawkmoth neglects his son, is a dirty capitalist, and commits acts of domestic terrorism on the daily but in my personal opinion his biggest crime is being a super villain with a butterfly theme and a background in fashion and looking so incredibly BORING.

He has all the potential to serve looks and yet he wears the most boring uninspired suit with little to no reference to butterflies.

I took away the bald cap, added a ton of butterfly shapes, and just added a ton more detail in general.

I’m very happy with it, I think he still looks intimidating and full of bad intentions while actually having a butterfly theme.

I’m working on shadowmoth and monarch now. I might do a drawing of my redesigned hawkmoth and mayura together.

🇺🇲: I tried to redraw that classic Maribug pose (but with a bit of distance between both to show the design haha) with my LB design and a "preview" of my Marinette and Tikki design (I'll definitely change them in the future though). I was trying to go for a way simpler style than that but ended up failing lol- I'll try again in the future

I'll also probably revisit all those designs eventually, since I still dislike some parts a bit and *IF* I ever do the AU/Rewrite I want to, I'd probably at least do a simplified version of the designs so it would be easier to draw in the comic

I know I take WAY TOO LONG to post but (I'm lazy and) I've been kinda busy- but I'll try to post my Hawk moth redesign probably before the year ends lol

After I do the 3 main ones, I'm not sure if I should do their civilian designs first or do the other heroes- but I'm also not really sure if I'll do ALL the heroes (at least right now) since, if I ever do the AU I plan to, I don't know if I'll give all the characters a miraculous (and if I do, I also don't know if I'll keep them with their original ones since I'm changing the power system). So, if I don't do the civilians first, I'll probably do only the secondary holders (QB, Rena, Carapace, Mayura and Argos) because I'm sure I'll keep those

But I assure you I'll definitely not give up on my "redesign series" :D (even if I take IDK, one year to post the next one haha)

🇧🇷: Tentei refazer aquela pose clássica das Maribug (mas com um tico de distância entre elas pra mostrar melhor o design kkkk) com meu design da LB e uma "preview" do meu design da Tikki e da Marinette (Mas eu vou definitivamente mudar eles no futuro). Eu tava tentando fazer um estilo BEM mais simples que esse mas acabei falhandokkkk mas vou tentar dnv no futuro

Eu também provavelmente vou revisitar todos esses designs eventualmente, já que eu ainda não curto muito algumas partes, e *SE* eu algum dia fizer a comic da AU/Rewrite que eu tô planejando, eu provavelmente vou pelo menos fazer uma versão simplificada dos designs pra que fique mais fácil de desenhar nos painéis

Eu sei que eu demoro pra krl pra postar mas (eu sou preguiçosa e) eu ando meio ocupada- Mas eu vou tentar postar meu redesign do HM provavelmente pelo menos antes do ano acabarkkkk

Depois que eu acabar os 3 principais, não sei se eu devo primeiro fazer os designs civis deles ou os outros heróis- mas eu tb não tenho certeza se eu vou fazer TODOS os heróis (pelo menos por agora) já que, se eu algum dia fizer a AU que eu planejo, não sei se vou dar um miraculous pra todos os personagens (e mesmo se eu der, não tenho ctz se eles vão continuar com suas jóias originais já que eu tô mudando o sistema de poder). Então, se eu não fizer os civis primeiro, provavelmente vou fazer só os portadores secundários (QB, Rena, Carapace, Mayura e Argos) pq esses eu tenho ctz q vou manter

Mas eu garanto que eu definitivamente não vou desistir da minha "série de redesigns" :D (mesmo que eu demore sei lá, um ano pra postar o proximokkk)
