5 REASONS WHY I REFUSE TO BELIEVE THIS IS JUST ABOUT A TOUR

I don't think I'm smart enough for plausible theories, so this is just a vent of a long time fan. I also have not read many posts, because I've been busy with life, so sorry if someone also said these points.

1. The concept.

I hope this is an album, but I wouldn't pledge my life on it. What I think, however, this is going to be something that brings all the storylines together from previous albums. At least from the Black Parade and Danger Days definitely, but I'm also thinking a bit about Conventional Weapons, too. This is because while yes, the tour does carry the Black Parade name and comes right after everybody spent time crying about not being in the select few to attend the WWWY Fest, the Secretary was not part of the Black Parade storyline. The closest thing we had eas the Director of BLI in Danger Days. And I think we all knew who this woman was the moment she popped up on the screen:

So what if Gerard's costume for the tour was the now undead Director, who became the Secretary of the Dictator?

2. The storyline itself.

I know every word to every album, from the singles to the B sides to leaked ones. But there may always be a chance that I misinterpreted the whole thing, maybe we all did, but the Black Parade is about the afterlife. Whether you got there because of illnes, war, it doesn't matter, you become part of the Black Parade when you die. I believe it to be a celebration of life, or carrying on even after the end.

What the Black Parade has never been, was a personal celebratory National Band, which is exactly what the post writes as the story. I'm going to insert a screenshot with the story.

I saw a theory that the entire concept is going to be revamped, which it might as well be, but even it doesn't make sense.

3. Because that's not what My Chemical Romance is.

And right now I'm thinking about the captions under the pictures.

After seeing the Secretary, my first thought about these captions was that we - The Black Parade - originally must have answered by wanting to be killjoys, the rebellious ones, but eventually we broke and stood in line, becoming the Dictator's beloved National Band, to which the Secretary replied: "Good boy."

However, My Chemical Romance never stood for that. They would never reward us with a tour for standing in line and shutting our mouth. They would never become the corporate machine they stood against since the very beginning. They would never lead the Black Parade in this manner and for this purpose.

And maybe it's just my naivety, the long lost teenager somewhere deep in me saying this, but I still believe they would never do that.

4. Foundations of Decay.

Has it been 2 years since this song came out? Yes. Am I going to bring it up? Absolutely.

(This is definitely overthinking on my part, but I was a history major and with the current events, the parallels are unmatched.) So the thing about wars is, you need people to fight it for you. You need soldiers and military leaders and all of them have to be loyal and obey the orders. The easiest way to achieve that, is by building an ideological foundation you can use to sway their judgement and decision making. The mustache man started with the theory of the back stabbing of the nation. During the middle ages, Christianity provided this foundation for the crusades in the middle east. If you give people something to fear or you give them something to idolise, they will be willing to fight against or for what you want.

And this is the Foundation of Decay.

"you must build an altar where it wells"

"Take his body as a relic to be canonised"

"You stumble through your last crusade"

And is you ask me, this is why this one song came out so much earlier than the rest of the project. Because they lay the ideological foundation first, and you need people to absorb it and truly believe before you can lead them with it. So you tell them again and again and again. Play it at every show on a tour. And so that reunion tour is when the Black Parade became the National Band, instead of the Killjoys. Because we sang along to every word, we absorbed it and not just believed it, but lived it as we attended the tour and sang when they told us to, cheered if they just came on the screen. We became conditioned to follow Gerard's orders as he walked on the stage, just as we will follow the order to play for the Dictator, instead of standing against him.

5. But empires and dictatorships never last, do they?

Rome fell apart. There is a reason there was a Third Reich, because the first 2 also fell. The Ottoman Empire also eventually weakened and fell apart. And just because the Communist Party always said that life is great and everyone is happy "In the Concrete Age", everyone who has lived in a ex-soviet occupied country (hello to my fellow Eastern and Central European MCR fans), we can all tell you, it was everything but true.

And so it is only a matter of time before Dictator's reign has to see its end? Perhaps maybe even bought on by his beloved band, put together from the misfits who the Secretary had to break to stay in line.

But, this is all just my theory. Thank you for clowning with me and my tinfoil hat if you read it this far.

mcr tour theory (because i’m crazy and we all just brushed over this)

getting my thoughts out on this because waiting until august 29th is actually killing me. i am an mcr5 truther, and here are some of my thinkings:

- the tour title is strange. i saw someone point this out a few months back, but it really got me thinking. the tour title isn’t “long live the black parade”— it’s ““long live”: the black parade”. those quotations indicate a separate title, and the colon signifies some kind of relation or ownership. why ISN’T it a general “long live the black parade”???? makes me wonder if it’ll be a black parade sequel of sorts with a continuation of lore. “the black parade” is the name of the album, but it’s also the name of the fictional, in-universe band. “the black parade” is technically a self-titled album. if you think that the lore continuation sounds stupid and crazy, look at tyler the creator. his albums have lore continuation, and it’s cool and people love it. but honestly, all of the things they’re putting randomly in quotations in those instagram captions are strange. “the concrete age”, “good boy”, and “opera”??????? those sound pretty song title-y to me.

- too many strange coincidences about a specific tour date.

THE JERSEY SHOW??? this show is #5 on the tour, first of all. smack dab in the middle. second of all, why does this show start at 5:15? all of the other shows start at either 6:00 or 7:00 pm. 5:15?? why is it 45 minutes earlier than the other shows, and was the :15 necessary??? I THINK SO. stick with me here. you can divide 15 by 5 a total of 3 times. now, if we add those 3 to the 1 from the starting hour and 1 from the number show on tour, we get 5 FIVES. on top of this, it’s in JERSEY?? MCRS ORIGIN??????? SOMETHINGGGG is going to happen at mcr nj.

in conclusion, mcr5 is real, it’s connected to the black parade, and it’s probably getting announced in new jersey.

I don’t get what Mcrs doin, like why are they advertising this tour so much?? It’s not like it’s the first reunion tour and I swear even that one didn’t have as much run up to it (though maybe we’re all starved of Mcr content and overthinking everything)

I swear down there going to be more than just this US tour cos there’s so much effort and details going in to the promotion videos that it would just all be a waste for like 9 tour dates? (Didn’t quote me on this) wether this “more” will be a whole album or a song or even a worldwide tour I honestly couldn’t care less I just miss em

ALSO?? the fact they’re back in the studio and have been for a while?? How much practice do they need before the shows?? And “disenchanted tune” ??? Why not just call it disenchanted- AND the clip or Frank playing the drums?? He’s never played drums for Mcr and I don’t recognise the thing he played so either it’s just a practice beat or something new I don’t know

One theory I saw that I really like is that they’ll play one new song on each tour date and release the whole album at the end of the tours which would be rad as hell although I’m not too sure what direction the music would be going in. Gerard wanted to follow danger days kind of style (pretty obvious from their solo stuff) but Frank kinda stuck with the black parade so I really wonder what they’re gonna come up with for mcr5 (it will happen)

Another cool idea is that they’ll release it on 5/5/25 at 5:55 but i feel like that’s too on the nose for them cos foundations of decay was released on some random Tuesday

Anyhow I require mcr5 and also it’s be rad if they came to the uk I’ve never been able to see them live (please please please please please please please please)

hey who wants to read bad hasty analysis of the new mcr video

here we go!

frame 1: the deer (later seen in the logo) is shown as dead in the official flag, with lots of plants and rot around it…. DECAY! AS IN FOUNDATIONS OF! Also yk four squares above it….like the four members….

frame 2: statue of the dictator as seen in previous videos. more on him later.

frame 3: the city! in full view! same as from previous videos, yet this has the sepia tone of a white man making a film in Mexico. Suggests again that DRAAG is meant to be a communist style state, thru the use of brutalist architecture

frame 4: grain! meant to symbolize prosperity and health, also corroborates the theory that it’s meant to be a USSR/CCP type state- ahem five year plans anybody. 

frame 5: 2KM (I assume) logo. likely just the station BUT! Uses the same font as everything else, further suggesting DRAAG is a universal, all-encompassing force that suppresses creative expression

frame 6: hey king! what the fuck is a Dragoshka. Is it a nation? A group of people? A caste? Who knows! But this anchorman assumes we are dragoshkas! one again, Slavic sounding word, lending to the USSR themes here

frame 7: eeeeeeey the boys are back! so it takes the Mexico City show (their last show as the black parade) and uses it as the basic start point of our story. Why were they thought to be dead? Where were they for all this time? Questions questions

frame 8: ok. so is DRAAG interpol style government? is it a fixed location? who knows! but they are holding these guys hostage it seems?

frame 9: Ok so the leader from earlier is the Grand Immortal Dictator (GID) sounds like god lol. and he is revered by people in (supposedly) other countries- is he a threat to them? does he rule them openly or from under the table?

frame 10: the cabinet of operatic retaliations? this implies 1: the “opera” video was possibly the testing of a weapon and 2 that music IS a weapon, this guitar kills fascists etc

frame 11: end salute! we are still in a highly controlled news space! also DRAAG is definitely controlling Mexico and likely other states. Also the deer is alive in this one? Theories could be made here

MCR 5 THEORY!!

She said why would mcr go to the wwwy fest after there SWARM tour ended. She said it might mean they will annouce something. So maybe mcr at the wwwy fest might annouce MCR5 ??!

something that’s been stumping me about the new lore dump is “the black parade”.

how does it fit into the wider lore we already have for the black parade? A national band for a fascist regime is definetly a far cry from a marching band that leads you into the afterlife. 6247 days since the black parade is dead show, and since the black parade was “sent to the MOAT”.

it’s strange, obviously the question is “what is the moat”. I have what I hope is not too far fetched of a theory, I believe the moat could be the afterlife, or at least the place where the black parade as we know it resided.

Sending away the black parade to the moat was having it killed. Similar to how the black parade is dead killed them off (hence why it’s been 17 years since they last played). Their work privelage had been revoked now it’s been reinstated. Forced to work for the immortal dictator, forced back to a life they did not want.

the black parade as we know it inspired hope, inspiring us to carry on, to stay alive. Such sentiments would pose a threat to a farscist government, needing to be silenced. But as a cruel or symbolic punishment the dictator has chosen to revive them.

I feel like this is such a fascinating choice of imagery. Beyond simply the pentacle as kind of stereotypical occult imagery, the choice of the five points when they only have four complete albums?

Now they technically did have five cd cases out, as you can see here in the summoning video:

The upper left point of the pentacle is marked by their "May Death Never Stop You" compilation album. Note that: their compilation album. Notable for featuring the previously unreleased "fake your death" and released the year after their breakup. They could just as easily have used Conventional Weapons, which at least was made up of its own original material even if never released as a full album. There's also a weird dark mark on the album cover that I can't identify because of the way the camera is focused on the foreground? It's probably a shadow or something but it's still strange.

Anywho. The repeated use of the five pointed pentacle definitely has Clue potential, especially alongside other number-five motifs. Or it could just be visual recognition of occult imagery. Who knows.

ok I saw someone say that the four dictators represent the four albums we already know and the girl in the background and 5 candles represents the 5th album and the two candles together (making 10) represents the tour dates. This is nottt my theory I saw this somewhere and thought it was clever BUT PLS GIVE ME YOUR THEORIES PPL IM CONFUSED

Oh yeah another theory I heard was that the four dictators represent (in order) Media, politics, military, and religion. Butttt someone else said they could be the Four horseman of the apocalypse

here’s what that represents I like that theory a lot cause I think it ties nicely with the theme they already have going on with the videos they shared. I think that’s my favorite theory. Ok but like can u guys give me ur theories about the opera going on in the end I’m so confused about that like I have no clue what that represents, it seems like the dictators are kinda being tortured? Idfk 😭😭😭
