hi hello i found your account earlier this week and fell in love with your aloto fics and depiction of the characters, so i wanted to know your opinion on something i haven’t quite been able to work out regarding that:

i’m on my fourth rewatch rn and i think i have the characters more or less figured out except for the way greta acts around carson during the second episode. i mean, i understand that she was trying to hang around carson and find out things about her without seeming bothered by it (like the way she lingered when carson was talking to meg on the phone), and that would sorta explain how playfully – even by greta standards – she was acting.

i think maybe she also sort of wanted to catch carson’s attention by annoying her (for lack of better word, like when she says “oh, carson already has a new daddy”), but i still feel like i’m missing something?

because, for example, when she’s talking about the newspaper article regarding the peaches, carson goes “are you trying to get in my head” and greta’s response seems too serious/mysterious when she says “i don’t know what you’re talking about, carson”. she doesn’t get outright mad at carson for thinking something is about her even though there’s no direct link, which makes me think maybe greta did have something in mind regarding carson in that scene too. but i can’t really figure out what – all i know is that everything about greta, especially in those first episodes, is calculated.

so basically i’m wondering if you have any takes on her behavior during that episode, cause this has been a question mark in my head ever since the first time i watched it and it’s not going away LMAO.

firstly you are so not alone this i also remember thinking a lot of her actions were kinda odd and not being able to hack why. not sure i've thought of much that clarifies it to be totally honest but a few thoughts:

we're in the fun part of greta still trying to prove something to carson, namely that carson has feelings for her (which obviously spirals into clarity in episode three) - she hasn't quite got carson pinned yet so i think it's almost a bit of trial and error on greta's part, trying to work out what she can get away with and what carson responds the most to

i also think it's worth noting that this is super early-days, where greta is pretty confident she'll get a quick fling out of carson to add some spice to the season. it's pre-falling for her, and pre-allowing the idea that she could fall for her, so greta's in a very rehearsed dance that she knows usually yields quick results. i like to think that the reason it feels so off-kilter is because carson is different for her to women in the past. personally i think greta is absolutely trying to get in carson's head, just not for the accusatory reasons carson thinks; she's not trying to fuck with her in a way that's malicious or ill-intended, she's just speedrunning her usual 'get laid, have fun, don't fall in love' routine

following on from the above if i remember correctly it's episode three that jo starts to properly be a bit :/ about them - i know she was in episode one when greta goes to carson at the bar, but this is the first time it seems to be genuine long-term concern instead of what struck me as a quick 'for fucks sake' flash, and that feels noteworthy - i think jo is seeing from the outside through episode two how much greta's usual routine isn't working out in the way it normally does, and that's what leads to the episode three developments. she's probably seen greta do this a lot but for whatever reason carson is different, and the difference in greta's behaviour from episode two to episode three is jo's first indication that this is going to be something serious. bit of a tangent but point being that greta's behaviour in episode two is absolutely calculated, whereas in episode three we get to see how she flirts when she's really interested, not just following her script

essentially i think episode two is an episode of 'well, been down this path, let's get to the end', and the contrast in episode three is what settles it. episode three greta is interested in carson, episode two greta is attempting to keep it superficial. episode two greta is getting to know carson properly, and, i think, being genuinely anxious about it - we see so many examples of greta using her femininity to hide, but i also think that extends to how she acts around carson in those early episodes. by planning every move and knowing exactly what to say she's controlling the situation, placing that distance and showing interest in a way that she knows she can pull back from at any point

tl dr i also still don't Really Know but i think greta is in FULL control-freak-mode and is following a very practiced script that she knows has worked on women before. i haven't rewatched in a couple of weeks and my memory of episode two is a bit hazy, so v v open to hearing other people's thoughts too

The more I think back on it, the more I love Renfield and its exploration of toxic relationships. The movie is just pleasantly rewatchable (its horror movie comfort food, like Christopher Landon films such as Freaky or Happy Death Day)

Infinity Pool was great, but I think Possessor is the stronger Brandon Cronenberg film. Possessor just had this disorienting, hypnotic feel that I'm not sure Infinity Pool even wants to replicate. I am definitely looking forward to whatever he makes next though - the cross-section exploration of horror and technology is such a unique brand to both Cronenbergs and their films.

Totally Killer was a really good time and made good use of its time travel plot. The slasher villain was actually pretty scary, and the gore wasn't half bad either.

The Blackening was a lot of fun as well, had some really funny moments and some good tension. I liked that I didn't recognize a lot of the actors and was very impressed with a lot of their work in this.

Talk to Me is the more interesting the more I think about it and definitely has a lot of staying power.

I've heard The Faculty was great, but sadly it's taken me this long to get around to it. Tag was also really good, at some point I do plan on getting around to Love Exposure. Hellraiser 2 has such an epic scope for a horror film that it was an immediate breath of fresh air. Possession was an absolutely bonkers allegory and worked very well. The Blob was one of the more obvious 80s classics I've somehow missed. The Keep was this foggy, chilly world war II set-horror that sadly, only exists in a butchered cut of the film. What's left is interesting and full of logical holes, but somehow the atmosphere carries it. Hopefully some day we'll discover the three hour cut in some old vault or something.

Diablo 4 definitely has a much stronger horror aesthetic than Diablo 3, the presentation of D4 is much more cinematic which helps.

Lunacid is genuinely scary at points, especially dungeon crawling through low-lit tunnels.

Julie’s Supernatural rewatch 01x11 to 01x17

Only 7 episodes since last time. I’m mixing my Spn rewatch with a Flash rewatch.

Anyway, on the road again.

01x11 : Scarecrow

Dean’s “yes, sir” is like so blood boiling. It shocked me the first time I saw this episode. Who call their father sir? Dean’s hero worship is :-(. But Sam and Dean disagreeing on what to do and seeing their differences in the perception of their father is perfect.

First time they go their own way. in the later seasons that trope of separating the brothers kind of grew old for me. To the point of almost quitting the show. I’m glad the grew out of this trope.

Small town people are scary. From a girl who grew up in a small town.

Time to rewatch the SPN episode. My theory in advance: the episode is enjoyable if you don’t think too much about it, but it might fall apart as soon as you take a second look. So I’m expecting that now, I’ve already got some points in my head that puzzle me. If you’re willing to read criticism then this might be the post for you!

It’s very long and unedited as so often (sorry for typos and nonsense sentences) so I have to hide it all under a cut!

The Then Segment:

What exactly was this supposed to be? It was immediately clear that they showed the pizza men scene of Meg to clue us in that she’d be back in a way and to provide framework for the things we would hear her say (for the general audience I assume because we all know everyone’s catch phrases by heart). Lucky conincidence for a clever then segment editor was that Ruby’s first line was also about pizza, so why not show that too since she would be making a comeback too. But... what’s with Dean and the pizza eating. Like... I kinda like it because it’s like a fanvid and little bit of silly story telling totally unrelated to canon and the episode we’re going to see. But... it’s totally unrelated to the episode we’re going to see! They did a gag in the then segment! *lol* I’m simply a bit puzzled about it. Also of course we can’t just ignore the story telling they gave us either? We see Cas kiss Meg, Cas explains he learnt if from the pizza man, next we see Ruby asking Dean where the pizza is framing him as the pizza man. And then Dean’s stuffing his face with pizza until he proclaims that he’s done, probably as a stand in for the editior who now also said “okay, I’m done with this joke, let’s get on with the plot relevant stuff!” Just, what are we supposed to do with the Cas learnt kissing from the pizza man, the pizza man is Dean implied joke? Hmmmmmmm. Mr or Mrs editor, care to explain?

Introduction of AU Sam and Dean:

Heck. *lol* Okay, I’m a member of the AU Winchesters fanclub I’m not going to try to hide that. I wonder how they managed to open a rift? What kind of spell did it require? How did they have the ingredients? Why did they take the fiat??? We know the spell for the rift requires archangel Grace or a nephilim to power it. Where did they get that? Does that exist in their world? Does their world have slightly different ingredient requirements? Is it possible now because the mere existence of Jack in the original earth has made it possible, has shifted the worlds all a bit closer now? Nah, I think that’s thinking too far for a BL episode. ;P

New part of Billie’s quest unlocked for Jack!

What point is there in Billie asking Jack if he’s ready for the next quest if he doesn’t know what he’s supposed to be ready for? Jack is completely clueless and he has no moral compass. He just does whatever without knowing possible consequences which is a bit difficult for me to find compelling. There’s no stakes in it, no moral dilemma, no emotion. He just does whatever, not thinking, not worrying about what it takes or what the consequences are. (I recently watched something with a hero just like that. What was it? Hhhh, I don’t watch a lot of stuff but I still don’t remember at all. I went to ask witchy sis and she knew the answer: it was Sora from Kingdom Hearts!!! Right! Interesting.)

Dean’s plan for Amara

I don’t think his thought process is wrong, it just feel slightly off for me that involving Amara is not an option but wiping her off the board is? Sure, she used to be a villain but I kind of felt like her send of was a sort of positive thing? But then again, he was already prepared to kill her once, so maybe that won’t have changed just because she had a change of heart and also gave him back his mom... Maybe I’m just forgetful and trying to reach Amara for help has been addressed before. Though I generally wonder if that with the balance was true anyway.

Sergei has the information

It’s so weird that they have this shady informant who has all the answers to all the questions... Just what is going on between Sergei and Cas that they continue to exchange phone calls...? Is Sergei just the cover up and easy fix for “we need to force a plot point and can’t develop it”

Dean and Cas’ exchange was absolutely adorable I love it. More of it please.

Anael and the nonsensical timeline

I can’t stand her.

While I was watching this I was so confused about the casual way of talking about Ruby (”and old friend of yours has it” not had it) and Sam and Dean not reacting to that at all that I assumed that AU!Sam and Dean coming and going like that had somewhat gave our world a bit of a nudge and that we were suddenly in a slightly alternative timeline. Because that somehow made more sense to me than what I was seeing on screen.

We also know that Anael was NOT on earth until the angels fell in S8, we even get her to explain how she came to possess her vessel... So this already makes no sense to begin with. On top of that I think this whole “has been making profitable deals with demons for years” does her character absolutely no service. Back then, somewhere between the end of S3 and the end of S4, heaven was still open, no angels were supposed to be on earth, she still had her wings, she still had all her powers, why the heck would she even need money? She could just get whatever she wanted with her mojo. This is ridiculous. She’s just a dick.

I will disregard anything that’s being shown in this flash back because this is Anael’s story for the Winchesters and we know later on that it’s a lie.

Story telling cues for beginners: something wrong with a Winchester, show it by noticeably altering his eating habits

I mean that this is not always a story telling device done sloppily, I can think of a couple of instances where it was done brilliantly and with nuance. But not this. *lol* Jack seems to be all about ingesting things; he has no powers, feed him hearts, he has no handle on his emotions, let him overeat, he has no soul, let him eat the occultum.

I think it’s interesting to have Jack talk about how things have changed with the Winchesters. I have to say that I don’t really see that all that much because they have mostly acted like nothing happened, Dean hasn’t even been angry or avoided Jack. Sam’s unsure around him, mostly because Jack’s not particularly forthcoming with information. It would have been nice to see how things have changed between Jack and Dean... Anyway, since Jack has no emotions, why is it important for him to know if Dean will ever forgive him?

I love Cas’ analysis of Dean’s emotions and the way he processes them. I still wonder if everything is good now between Dean and Cas. I thought this was still in progress based on Dabb’s comments (I have no source right now, just a vague recollection about the prayer scene not being the end of it).

Trapped between dimensions

This doesn’t make a lot of sense to me? They were through the portal, why would they have been trapped in a world between dimensions? Also, what is that space between?

The plan to just go to hell to grab something is so weird to me. Winchester stupid I guess. Why don’t they try to call Rowena first? There are ways to phone down to hell involving a bowl, some blood and a spell... Did they never learn how to do that? They have spells for all kinds of nonsense but not for a phone call down there?

Also, it feels a bit off to me that the first thing that comes to Cas’ mind regarding Ruby was that she and Sam were sexually intimate? I mean yes, of course, but the thing that Cas always mentioned to Dean was the demon blood drinking, that would have been a much more appropriate (and in character) thing to mention in my opinion. But I guess that’s the BL charm. *sarcasm*

Winchester misadventures in Hell part 1

Phhhhhhh. Okay. I know the Winchesters are under time pressure, but I don’t know why they continue to mess up the division of tasks. Why do the two humans go to hell and not Cas? (I remember how little issue Dean had to send Cas to hell because “he’s been before” or something other that basically amounted to “I don’t care if you die down there”. Oh man, now I’m angry again. What a bastard. Deep breath, let it go.)

I think Sam and Dean are a bit careless/ overconfident. What happened with that humility they should have gotten when they were “normal” some episodes ago? Just because Rowena’s queen of hell, they clearly aren’t just totally safe when they waltz down into hell and not expect some resistance?

Cas’ Winchester stupid but successful plan

I do like that Cas continues to question what he’s been told. But the whole “kill me mostly and I will go to the Empty for a chat” seems like BL nonsense. That’s not how death works in SPN? Jack was smiting Cas but somehow instead of killing him he just made the Grace flow out out. No, not even his Grace, his lifeforce! Which looks exactly like his Grace what the heck.I can’t even think about it because this doesn’t make any sense and it’s very annoying.

Besides, what happened with Jack not being allowed to use his powers under any circumstaces???????????!? I hate this. Did nobody read through this script with a red pen? Pisses me off.

Cas, I love you, but I’m questionning your parenting style right about now. *lol*

Also, Dean and Cas have got to stop trying to get answers by temporarily killing themselves. It’s not a sustainable tactic.

Now Cas’ life force is in that flask? Does this life force has sentience...? What is it? No, stop, BL don’t make sense, you’ll only break your head trying to make sense of it.

Winchester misadventures in hell part 2

Why does everyone have angel blades? Annoying. Also, Anael, sorry, JO. Jo somehow is able to communicate with demons that are stuck in hell? And how would she even get them out? Huh? Also, this makes her look even more like a bastard. Why kill the Winchesters?

Also, what the hell was Jo’s “free advice” supposed to be? “Don’t make any friends, they always ask too much of you?” Huh? What? Who is the friend who asked too much of Jo? Also, she could have healed the dude before she left, wouldn’t have taken her any time. Asshole.

Cas in the Empty

Cas criticized Dean and Sam’s plan to go to hell to find something because hell is too big and it might take them a long time to find. But he thinks he’ll be able to find Ruby in the EMPTY in one hour?

Can’t say I hated seeing the Empty take on Meg’s form. I just love the Empty, though I find it the most charming if it’s Cas shaped ;D (Duma was the creepiest though)

Why did Ruby get a wardrobe change in the Empty?

I consider this flashback to be true, BUT what the hell is Jo talking about when she says Michael and Lucifer are circling each other? They’re not? Lucifer is still in the Cage, Michael’s still chilling up in Heaven.

If Jo wanted to hide out in the Occultum and it was in her possession, then why did she ask Ruby to hide it somewhere? Why didn’t Jo just go in there to hide out??? Why didn’t she keep it safe herself? Why did she even go to Ruby in the first place? She had it in her possession, no need to trust a demon? I don’t get it.

I love the additional lore we get about the Empty. It seems to be the opposite of heaven; angels and demons dreaming about their regrets. Love that.

So Ruby wants out, I hope Ruby gets out. Other than Jo I do love her.

But why does she have to tell Cas where the Occultum is in such a secretive way? They’re in the Empty, who’s gonna hear them anyway...? Weirdos.

We learn that the deal between the Empty and Cas is still going, that the Empty is on Death’s side and that what the Empty wants out of this is to go back to sleep...? I have to process that later because all I can think of right now is that either that the Empty dies (how...?) or that everything dies (but then it’s still awake?) or Billie takes all the contents of the Empty and lets it spill out into creation...? Apart from Cas I guess? Because the Empty wants Cas and it wants to sleep? But what joy would the Empty get out of Cas being there if it’s asleep anyway? *pulls a face*

Also, Cas doesn’t seem to be in Billie’s big plan for Chuck either. He’s suspiciously absent everywhere. But that’s the thing with written down destinies that somehow all big players believe in, Cas doesn’t quite care and manages to get into the story anyway... At least that’s what I continue to hope in because this constant dismissal of Cas pisses me off.

Anyway, everybody’s back topside and alive. Dean and Cas have futher lovely exchanges.

“Am I still an idiot?” “.... Well yeah!” Dean’s sleeping on the couch tonight.

AU Sam and Dean!

It’s a shame that they just glossed over AU!Sam and Dean meeting our original team. :C

I think the world they come from sounds pretty interesting. But these guys don’t really look like active duty hunters...? Do they actually get their hands dirty? ?? Do they hunt more like the British MOL hunt?

This is outdated, BL, Dean’s tastes in porn have changed. He likes hentai now. (Well, he’s liked it since S7 I guess).

Retrieving the Occultum

And now here we have another example of less than ideal divisions of tasks. There are two humans in the church and two powerful supernatural creatures, so who gets to barricade their door against hellhounds? Of course, Sam, the human man with human protagonist strength! :D Makes perfect sense.

Sam’s there, struggling with the door but Dean just shoots him a look while Cas and Jack continue to stand around *lol*

Good to know me and Jack share the instant realization that the solution to the problem is: eat the thing.

“No!! Spit it out!!” I love it it. Poor Dean, parenting a Nephilim is hard.

Who’s that girl in Eden? Who’s that snake? Why is this the safest place in the world?

That was a pretty easy way to get a soul... Is that even Jack’s soul? Is that actually what Eden does or does it serve another purpose?

Anyway, back to the Bunker!

I like that two versions of Sam and Dean exist in the original world now :D I don’t know why Dean sent them off to Brazil, instead of keeping them around as backup. They are hunters after all... I also don’t know why he’s kinda grouchy around them? (Though I guess that’s just how Dean is.) I just hope we’ll see them again...

Also, this car business is weird. When were they looking around? When the others were gone? Because the Impala wasn’t around when Sam and Dean were gone because they took it to drive to the church. Also, there are a lot of classic cars in there, some fancier than the Impala, right? So which car did they mean? Confusing.

I think now that Jack’s soul is back, Dean might actually have to address what has happened. Before, there was no point... I’m interested to know what’ll happen next!

And that’s it! A lot of things which were off or annoying and I don’t get how this got through whatever approving instances there are. I wonder that every single time, almost every BL episode. It’s frustrating and we’ve never had an answer. I wish we had panels with writers I would really like to know what some of the messes were, if they just forgot things that fans remember perfectly well? If they just say “screw it, who cares” or what... :/

But I was still entertained, I love Dean and Cas’ interactions, I loved the AU!Winchesters, I loved seeing Ruby again and I can’t wait to know what happens next even though we have to wait!

Meg WTF, I've been away from tumblr since the end of skam italia basically (I dont have a blog, I just check on my fave blogs to read their opinions) I randomly came back to find out you fell into the ITSAY rabbit hole I'm so happyyyyyy I miss it so much I can't wait for March 2021.. and I'm so glad you love Teh cos twitter isn't that woke about him. My confused boy. Anyway I read all your posts about it and really, I could rewatch this show countless times, what a masterpiece.

Oh we have watched a million and one things since then, my love ❤️ hahaha

But hello! And goodness. Do you mean the end of season 4? Because that took me ages to get over. I still find myself shocked how wonderful s4 was and how much I adored Sana and how well it was all wrapped up. Oh Skam It always be just so precious to me. Such a happy place!

And LORD. Where did ITSAY come from? A friend in Japan recommended it to me. She knows me pretty well and knows I’m weak as hell for a lot that the show does, mainly that type of symbolistic metaphorical writing and also the sheer god damn beauty and that type of nuanced acting... ugh all of it. So yeah I have never really watched many shows from that part of the world as I kinda rely on recommendations (kinda wanna avoid a lot of the stuff I see that screams “made purely for people to fawn over handsome guys kissing” because that just ain’t it for me and I feel uncomfortable) and I wasn’t sure what to expect from ITSAY until about 5 minutes in and it’s just blissful. It is just a v well made tv show clearly created with a lot of care and I was heartened to see it marketed really seriously and sophisticatedly. The show feels kinda weird to me and I am all about that. Weird in terms of how refreshing and surprising some of it feels even if some is kinda stuff we have seen before - a lot isn’t. I love when characters are a little weird and strange and intriguing.

Teh is 100% that for me. He’s a weirdo and he’s emotionally stunted. I wonder if people maybe don’t click with him is because he ain’t created for easy consumption as a character. He screams, to me, a character created by LGBT+ folks for that audience, same with Oh. He isn’t easy to digest! But that’s what I love. He’s a really fascinating character because of the amount of layers you have to get through to see his truth but the way the show is created, it’s like we get to see both sides of him simultaneously mainly because the acting is so nuanced. I love how some of the shots are so telling too to add to his state of mind like the tiny moment he’s trying to charge his phone and is in emotional turmoil and he’s driving in circles on the road like he just can’t make himself go home in the opposite direction to Oh and like the moments when he just can’t express himself and just collapses all over stuff 😂 how can you not love him? He’s brilliant. He’s intense, a cry baby at times, arrogant at others! He’s silly and petty and sweet and over the top and had a fabulous array of Hawaiian shirts! His journey in self discovery with Oh, his family, Tarn, himself and his dreams is just so meaningful that by the end he LOOKS different, acts so different (that whole end montage is just ever so sweet from his perspective as he’s so relaxed and not once does he do his nervous Teh thing) and is so confident in himself and sure about many things, even in terms of his dream accepting its fundamental that it exists in his heart and as his passion more than as something to prove

I genuinely adore his character and I think BK did a fucking spectacular job at portraying a complex, loveable, tricky young LGBT+ soul. I’m always down for weird characters and complex souls who are difficult to decode and isn’t that the damn title of the show?! 😂 (well, the Thai version!). Isn’t that what Oh does and what the entire show is about? It’s the foundation of the message and the story - translating your feelings and your identity and finding someone who can maybe do that when you can’t or who will try etc - but above all, working yourself out. I can see how he’d be a little bit of a marmite character at times as early on he is a bit of a dick but the writing and acting makes complete and utter sense as to why and god do I love when writing is capable of taking characters from that to the other end of the spectrum carefully and navigating the depths of a character... and using subtext and metaphors and every possible trick in the book to manage it.

I mean, Teh uses every possible method he can to express himself and try to work himself out from actually verbalising right down to flash cards, physical movement, silence, Instagram, scent, touch, food, distance, Chinese language, hidden meanings, colour, gestures, fictional characters and double meaning. There’s no way I wasn’t going to be absolutely fond of a character like that?

How can you not adore him in that moment at sunset when he’s just staring at it crying and you can SEE the relief and gratitude and peace. Ugh makes me cry just thinking about it.

So yeah, clearly I have nothing to say about this show 😂 so glad you loved it too. I had no clue it was always intended to be 2 parts and that a second part was due until I got to the end of the last episode and saw the teaser! If the last 5 episodes are even close to being as bloody magical as the first 5 then I’m down for another 5-6 hours of being emotionally compromised! I have a lot to say about this show and I doubt anyone wants to read it but when shows get to me like this all I want to do is ramble about them which obvs happened ridiculously with Skam It s2/4 and other shows but I think it’s all been said already 😂 i must ask my mum to tell me again about her time living in Phuket because I’m certain I recognised a couple of places from her photos and it made me miss when I’d receive her home videos when I was a teenager and she lived over there 🥺

Feel free to come shout at me about the show btw. I don’t know many who have watched it and so I’m kinda shouting into a void 😂

SOLO // ALLAR TILB

Megan snuggled down further on the couch, sinking into the blankets and stuffed another spoonful of ice cream into her mouth. Ever since she announced her pregnancy Megan found herself bombarded with gifts and company in all directions, and despite good intentions behind it all, it had become overwhelming.

So spending some time alone, lazing on her couch in one of her last nights in the old apartment before she made the move in with Warren. She saw it as a farewell party to the apartment she never particularly enjoyed living in the first place, but had because she could afford nothing else so close to her college. Even though it was damp and small, Megan was glad she lived there: she’d met Jason through the near by laundromat, which she would have never needed to go to had her apartment had a washer or been further away. And from meeting Jason she now had a wonderful, tiny little life and a big reason to get up in the morning.

“Don’t shoot the horse!” Megan shrieked at the screen, through a mouth full of ice cream, even though she’d seen War Horse many times before. It emotionally ruined her every single time, but like a sadist she rewatched and rewatched.

As expected they gave the temporarily blinded Albert a chance and Megan grinned to herself when the mud was wiped away, revealing the horse to be Joey after all.

But just as Albert and Joey emotionally reunited Megan’s head snapped around at the sound of scraping. As it her old roommate returned?

“Thea?” Megan called. Then paused. “Amber?”

Please let it not be Amber. Megan thought to herself, putting her spoon into her ice cream and hauling herself up: hand resting on her slight bump habitually. The last she saw of Amber the girl had thrown a lamp at her, who knew what Amber might do now. As she walked out into the corridor and closer to her room, where she swore the sound came from, Megan tried to summon her dagger. Pink light flashed in her hand but no dagger appeared, making the mutant curse under her breath. Of course her magic had to pick now of all times to glitch out on her.

In one sharp move Megan pushed open her bedroom door, and held up a fist to strike anyone who might jump out. A beat.

“I need to calm down more” Megan whispered to herself, scorning her own behavior. The room was completely empty, as if she had truly expected anything else, and the faerie deflated in relief as she shuffled away back to the living room. Along the way she grumbled to herself. “How about you chill for once, Meg? Not act like the end of the world is nigh, you know once upon a time you-”

Allar tilb.

Pink hair smacked her in the face as Megan turned sharply, burning gold irises studying the walls around her.

Once again she tried to pull her dagger out of her but her pink light sparked and died instead. Shit.

With a quick pace Megan marched to the living room, all but launching herself at her phone on the table to tap through the pass code. There was a chance she was just being paranoid, that her mind was playing strange tricks on her born from the disturbing news of Saturnine’s return: hell, maybe it was her own mother being bitter? But Megan would rather not take the chance.

“Z... Z... Z... come on I don’t know that many people beginning with Z” Megan muttered to herself as she skimmed down her contacts. Briefly she paused over Illyana, but scrolled on with a grunt. Hopefully if this was just a false alarm, her new friend wouldn’t be too annoyed with the late night call.

From the Enochian chanting seeping from the walls, getting faster and faster, closer and closer, Megan was more than certain this was not a false alarm. “Zatanna!”

Her thumb moved to tab Zatanna’s name and then - POOF!

The phone dropped to the ground, bouncing on the carpet, as Megan burst into a wisp of dark glinting smoke.

November 2018 Blurbs

11/1/18 In Novembers Gusty Gale...The one baby song that sticks with me is that line from Chicken Soup with Rice... The fact that I know that and can sing falsetto really sets a tone. Rice Lake run today as Scholarships needed answering somehow the fact that i can only qualify for one and yet still can deal with classwork is a mystery. Eli in 2 Weeks and hoping Basketball at the Vikings Stadium at months end. Mom said shed go with on Saturday to St. Paul but in case not contingency is the Queen Movie. Stinks about Nutcracker being lousy Grinch remake for Christmas Movie it is. 11/2/18 Patti and the Bravada im trying to buy. Something tells me thats got to answer itself very soon. Ellen wasn't going to St. Paul either so contingency may now be in place. Work at least had benefits being sorted out. Also Lego Harry Potter man that game was fun, glad for the port, now they just need to port other lego games. 11/3/18 Bravada is now mine thanks to mom. More crucially Queen Movie was luckilly in town, at theater that is now only open weekends. Confusing yes, just hoping this isn't premant closing like Bruce. Movie was near perfect as Rami Malek Crushed It, a term I almost never use. Andrew fried microwave after 18 years. It was overdue but man it stinks that its gone. ReLife Anime...If episode 17 had me tearing up, the other 15 1/2 should be just as interesting. Unlike that other show A Sister Is All You Need, a premsise about slice of life, authors and drinking that wears dull quick. 11/4/18 So begins a short week, mainly due to assurance needed for initial plans. Just wish they could have called me in for one more day, i have assurance but still could have used it. Pete Davidson is really hurting based on this weeks SNL no matter his mindset and well wishes, he's hurting. Packers more so...and Ricks final Walking Dead, what a cop out...So glad I'm done with the show, no matter how interesting teenage Judith looks. One more detail, just when I thought 2018 had used up all its anime...Rapping Zombies on a Show that really should be used by the ZombieLand Sequel coming out next year, they can spit licks. 11/5/18 Remember Remember...An annual watching of V For Vendetta and its poigancy highlights today. Bravada is now officially mine just have to get it al registred and isured without it breaking my bank. Also never trust pictures for all purchases on Ebay, miffed on that count. Very long day tomorrow, even work may be overshadowed by this, could have used this 2 years ago on that fateful night. 11/6/18 The Blue Wave of election day. Unlike 2 years ago when that blowhard of president peeved off the country, this made me glad i was working. Plenty of distractions. But Walker is gone from Wisconsin and the Blue Wave crested at the house. Not the complete washover those wanting Trump gone hoped for but still great. 11/7/18 Those 2 dopes i call younger brothers...Somehow they dont get it. Only thing they do get, is how awesome Red Dead Redemption is and how i wish to high heaven it came out for the Switch. 11/8/18 This time of year when the cold comes out, the stuff you like to do seems impractical. I have a vehicle that I cant use until i get it titled, and a nephew coming in 1 week who may not even see me a bunch. Lone thing giving me some solace, the black Friday Ads popped up today. So many possibilities. 11/9/18 Winter has shown in full force, proof being, those 2 dopes stuck here. Me having to suffer through it until I head to work. Holding off on Grinch until next week, possibly seeing it with Mom and Eli. 11/10/18 RWBY Continues to astound. Salems storied history with Oz, wholly molly. Christmas season always seems to bring out the best when it comes to treats. Lately my favorite seems to be those nougats. Fresh and gooey all in one sweet package. Badgers sure do stink. That guy getting revenge on Pete Davidson especially the Ariana Ringtone that was worth it to see during SNL, Liev Schriber sure is not funny though. 11/11/18 Vets, heroes who give thier daily lives to defend all that we hold dear and sacred. Also fitting its the centiniel of said remeberence. New guy on Cap 2 Tristan, I'm really liking, seems to hold his own quite well. 4 days until Eli comes looking forward to it. 11/12/18 Why does family make the easy things so difficult, once again those 2 dopes. Store had Black Friday stuff being assembled today. Be glad to use debit card tomorrow when i get bulk of my funds back. Last few days have been rough. 11/13/18 GameFlip, an app ive been using to buy mainly Amazon cards is really having it both ways with me. Great to find digital codes for almost nada, but this one guy who i bought a card from on Sunday has been really screwey. Really miffed on that front. Said digital codes allows me to rewatch The Meg during work lunch. 11/14/18 Final Project for class has me creating a full training seminar. Stinks knowing that I have to do it on too broad a subject issue. Mobility in the workplace, having to do with wheelchairs and other devices. Wow city this is hard. Christmas box has been dug out, begining decorating tomorrow before Eli shows up. Hunters at play this weekend. Also glad store discount expands to food for rest of year. 11/15/18 Dad is 60 feels weird to say that. Well Eli, a little bit intimidated by me, but we have a week to fix it. Got A debt collection thing from WITC On the same day i finaly knocked off tuition. I know i wanted to not have autopay on tuition but this is ridiculously overkill. Likley watching Fantastic Beasts Saturday when we get back from Rice Lake, glad like the Queen movie this is in town. 11/16/18 Nora and Eli, weird combo that sends him into his Grandmas arms. Glad thats occuring while im not at home. At least my and Erics Grandma got to see him, just not sure how much longer that will be a possibility. One week to Black Friday and the trucks for delivery have tripled. The sales will be worth it but the work on the other hand, wish that just came faster. 11/17/18 Stags day, the first day of hunting season a little less crowded around the area. Went with mom and Eli to see Grinch but showing ended up being sold out. Eli for being 4 is just a near ball of energy, even if we never gave him sugar Wish he could calm down, mom somehow seemed chill with it, might have to take her advice on this issue. Cute when he has to be, bullet like mom put it on all other fronts. As for Fantastic Beasts, it seemed overstuffed for its own good a two hour episode like youd see on Netflix or somewhere else. Though Depp did win me over as Grindlewald. 11/18/18 Eli was better today, and we managed to actually get some stuff done. He ended up being major help with placing ornaments on my tree. Work however was a mess, misinformation abound. Thursday outside better not be a bigger mess. Oh wait its the Black Friday sale yeah it will be. 11/19/18 The thanksgiving week is always wacky, Monday somehow is wackiest. Eli went with Mom to meet Rafe while I mainly spent it finishing decorating the room. Green Light Strand isnt working will have to replace it. Cayedn surprsingly got a deer and Eric is really helpful on that front. Work meanwhile was nuts, this time however, with Split Pants. May have to get new ones before Thursday Night. Glad this week a lot of stuff on Itunes and Amazon is on sale. Will likely take big advantage of this. Andy possibly thew wrench in plans, hopeful that i dont have to cancel. 11/20/18 Lone day off this week has me stopping at WITC to finish work i have assigned since i have no class tomorrow. Had to pick up pants as my others split. Will hold off on game or blu ray until thursday night after work. Mom and Skillet cookies glad she makes them but could wonder what else around here might break as stove is going. Our turkey is set for tomorrow as Eric and compay leave before parade on thursday. Hopin to get Eli once more to do craft project, want to surprise mom on that count. 11/21/18 The day before, aka the busiest travel day of the year. Made rudolph feet with Eli, a lot bigger than i pictured him to be. Had to wear split pants as replacements didn't fit. Turkey was good, unexpectedly tried Moms squash that was really tasty for some odd reason. Back outside for carts tomorrow, first time since the summer and i get thrown to the wolves on the big one. Colder than usual i will admit. 11/22/18 Eli seemed sad to leave us, but at least i got him the ornament he made ready before he did. Another thanksgiving the parade in full glory. Lions crappy game, Cowboys decent game, and Wal-Marts annual 6pm sale. Cole really needed to be slapped. He must think im dumber than i look. Best part is always the low price movies and tv shows. Annual pickups of Flash, Arrow and Big Bang Theory. Handmaids Tale DVD counts too this time along with Jumanji and a film i personally wanted to see but heard crap about, Assassins Creed. Not looking forward to the rain tomorrow. 11/23/18 Quieter than usual actual Black Friday. Couple that with Rain that washed away snow, pretty off day all around. 11/24/18 Plans for Basketball with Andy and Carynn are officially scrapped, could remedy that in another surprise way. Something about today that just felt so much more off than usual. Lingered at Library, lingered at Store, even lingered at McDonalds stuff i would not normally do on a day like this. Ralph Breaks the Internet I'll hold off on for now. Really still want to see Grinch. Badgers finally lost the Ax after 15 years, really makes you think. 11/25/18 Finally got Wolfenstien 2 downloaded for Switch, will look forward to play something else besides Zelda for a bit Smash Bros awaits in the wings. Christmas gifts are starting to take abit of idea form. UCF continues to climb, will need upsets by Texas and Northwestern to have a shot at Playoff but without QB is risky. 11/26/18 Mom threw out her back, not sure if it was from picking up Eli but she seemed more out of sorts than usual. Other replacement for Cap 2 joined, liking him so far. Small issue with Chyenne who was on phone for nealry 15 minutes in the middle of the aisle, and nobody said a peep. If it was me, would have been fired. Privelege indeed. Guy at McDonalds may be homeless, was tempted to report him but with all the white calling blacks for doing normal stuff no way id risk it. 11/27/18 This day always seems to be the quietest when it comes to stuff coming out, almost nothing. One movie I wanted to get for Eli when he was here finally showed up. Wrapped up DVD's as gifts for Eric and them. 15% extra coming Thursday. Not sure what itll be used for. 11/28/18 Rare Wednesday I had store duties as well as class. Got extra 15% card for the even 25%. Glad ill be able to use it this time. Unlike what I originally had intended for The 30th. Could use some more snow around here. 11/29/18 25% discount thankfully goes 2 days so held off on that. Visited WITC the Christmas decorations are great as usual. Visited Menards but the so called enchanted forest seemed lacking. At least I was able to get bulbs and another set of blue lights. Sold ticket, hopeful Andy can get in tomorrow and enjoy himself. 11/30/18 Contigency Plan #2: Animated Grinch, OK Cumberbatch was excellent and Pharell ups Anthony Hopkins but the movie was just simply Ok. 25% got used well for Moms clients and Connor and Amber. Andy and Carynn got in and enjoyed themselves. Also got thier save the date and details on the Weddding. Looks like a fun 4 day trip next May. Last Part of Year begins, lets see if this can finish strong. Never figured at start that id be blogging this but just goes to so. 334 Days down 31 to Go.
