Nearly three years ago, I made a 5-page comic with my Canine Comedians and made it exclusive to members of my Patreon. Since I deactivated my profile there a while back, and I have no immediate plans to get it going again, I think it’s about time the rest of the world gets to see it. I’m still pretty proud of this. I hope fellow old comedian fans spot some fun references.

You may notice I’m posting more older art lately. That’s because I’m involved in a couple long term projects (a mural and book illustration!) with less time to make smaller pieces, and I plan to keep posting regularly in the meantime.

i just started rewatching soul eater for the first time since i was 15 and Stein is so much more interesting to me than he was then... what are ur soul eater thoughts chip if youre willing to share

i did not experience soul eater as a wee youth, the first time i watched (and then read it) was 4 years ago (give or take) so i do not have the beautifully tinged nostalgia for the series others might. i say this only bc it colours my thoughts of the series pretty well lmao.

the anime is alot better than the manga just by virture of bones' animation being incredible but also its like 40% less painfully fucking horny (though still is its shounen) and the way some of that plot goes in the second half is so fucking bad in the manga (though not all, but god). It's not like the anime gets rid of everything like that stupid ass argument black star has with maka still makes me want to murder him but ultimately i like the anime and its writing more. i think my minds canon is just a meld of parts i like from both lol.

ohkubo is also just on my top ten list of mangaka i need to actually kill like hes a solid #3 on the needs to die list. his designs and art improvement were fun to watch and i do love halloween world and his toony stuff, undeniably bangs, but you can really tell by the end where his transformation into horny moe artist came from. sometimes i see people shocked by this and soul eater not's existence and i have to think did we read the same fucking manga...??

sorry i needed to get my bitching out before talking about stein. i love stein. so many things wrong with him. he is 70% of the reason i got around to watching it and 95% of the reason i kept reading it. i think how expressive he is is alot of his charm, like he does alot of moe body language you might not expect of his type of chara.

hes #crazy and #madscientist and #edgy and #insaneasylum but also very silly and whimsical... kind of emblematic of the world of soul eater at large actually, this is also alot of the other characters appeal in this universe too (DEATH THE KID).

he's obsessive, hes empathetic, hes also sadistic, hes got a screw in his head, megane, fun with kids, perfect man. hes also got both an equal capacity for getting worse and better in him which can be fun to think about in either direction, and you've got characters that do influence him either way for that in the series. im also kind of remembering clicking the screw in his head is to help somewhat deal with his mental state actually, king of the disability aid...(?)

you can treat his character very seriously or lightheartedly, i think the writing in both versions maintains that balance well. It also makes everyone else who actually sticks around him somewhat deranged too (the fact he did surgery on spirit at school but spirit still interacts like pretty normally at work with him after meeting again. lmfao. THEY WENT DRINKING TOO) the fact he still calls spirit senpai also is so funny. its like 40% a dig at him but also 60% genuine. i hate gay people btw.

i like the thought that he was more stoic when he was younger but as he got older stopped trying to hide his eccentricities as much, and became more expressive lol. younger stein to me is a guy screaming in his head 247 but looking like 😐 while spirit stares at him trying to decipher what his eyelid twitching today means.

okay so i finally searched up what a meganekko is and y'know what I think they actually are kinda wonderful.

i may or may not be in a bias here but yes i would very much agree. there's several layers to what makes the meganekko so wonderful but in general if I had to boil it down I'd say:

They are pretty. This is a general extension of the fact that girls by themselves are very pretty but I believe megane by itself gives a +2 bonus on charm (alongside it's known bonus of +5 eyesight, and +3 INT)

They are beautiful. This is a result of the variety that Megane can have, allowing each girl to have one extra layer of customization beyond the basics such as clothes and hair. There's the oval types that provide +2 appearance on any type of librarian, the square type that gives an score multiplier for office work and secretarial tasks, the big round types that give the bookworm a +50 reading speed bonus, and so many more.

They are like. Extremely cute. Probably a result of the inherent purity of the concept. A meganekko is vulnerable by design, perhaps on account of the moe that comes from requiring such a simple implement during all of day-to-day life. But it's also the authenticity of wearing them that makes them moe.

They are justice. Wearing megane can be perceived as defying standard rules of beauty, those perpetuated by the media establishment and the makeup companies. The meganekko overcomes all odds by simply being true to herself and rebelling against the standard percepcion of what is beautiful. This is also why contacts are extremely evil but I shall not discuss such disgusting implements.

Ultimately, when it comes to the meganekko, I think they are beautiful as they are. They are incredibly cute, absurdly pretty and a being that overwhelms me with pure justice. To put it in simple words, I'd say every meganekko is a wonderful meganekko.

I FINISHED CUPID PARASITE: SWEET AND SPICY DARLING!!!!

honestly, i enjoyed it. it gave a nice satisfying closure from the 1st game. there were some routes where it was a bit slow and made me sleepy but most of the time i enjoyed it A Lot. now for my personal fav routes

gill - he was my favourite LI from the 1st game and he still remains as my fav in the 2nd game. funny and cute and sexy plot. i love my happy pathetic extremely sexy megane

honestly the startling difference between peter and allans routes. allans route made me very sad tbh like. it left an empty feeling as i played. very satisfying ending tho!! i pity allan more tbh and i feel like my friend would love him more jeje im looking at you

peters was a riot lmaooooo mans stupid funny from start to finish. lack of sexy compared to allans rauls n gills but it leaves a nice satisfying ending for all 💗

now the sweet n spicy ends lmaooo. granted sweet end is of course sweet but leaves some unfinished business.

fav sweet ends - gill (SO CUUUTE) > allan (I AM A WHORE FOR MORTAL/IMMORTAL) > jupiter > raul > owen (albeit short) > ryuki = merenice = shelby

spicy tho 👁👄👁 - jupiter (BARK BARK) > gill (kinda wished the cg would be darker) > shelby > raul = allan > ryuki

merenice technically has no sweet n spicy so ill put his normal end in sweet

also kinda wished for eli omars route. i love powerful break who breaks

all in all? 10/10 its truly a romcom at its core and if u wish for some stupid sexy moments n you enjoyed the 1st game i highly recommend! now here are my fav cgs 💗
