Thought I’d have some big One Year Sober post with a lot of thoughts but I don’t really. 

We stopped at a lot of gas stations on the road trip and saw cats at several of them. The highlight of cat sightings: two cats sitting next to each other, one white and one black, looking weirdly peaceful and almost fake. The black one’s head was turned to the side and it had funny ears.

Saw Ariel Pink, Sage Francis, and the Preservation Hall band. Had chicory coffee and beignets at Cafe Du Monde, had creepy-looking shrimp with the heads still on, had a pecan waffle and quinoa with almond butter and mini chocolate donuts. Discovered an amazing Pensacola bar called the Elbow Room. Played MegaTouch and ate vegan pizza. Found a new comic book store. Took a cemetery tour, went to Stax Records and Bob bought me a Big Star shirt. Also bought myself a Stax winter hat in red and black, and a green bracelet at this outside market in New Orleans. Walked on Pensacola beach in sunlight and also in the dark. Took baths. Shared a dozen raw oysters with Bob. Drove in the dark with Aphex Twin playing. Felt happy alone. Felt happy together. Woke up early and went to Walmart. Bought bananas and honey and walnuts. 

Got home Sunday evening. Ordered Mission taco and ate it while watching the Devil Wears Prada, which I honestly found to be quite stupid (though Meryl Streep is a gorgeous fox). Pop Tart slept on me. Went grocery shopping on Monday. Bought sweet potatoes, butternut squash, rosemary, mushrooms, lemons, tempeh, black beans, peppers in four different colors. Blueberries, blackberries, grapes, Envy apples. Came home and cooked a big lunch. Made french press coffee. Went to the mall and walked around. Tried on a red sweater with dumb sleeves. Asked lots of shoe stores if they carry shoelaces and most said no. Went to Planet Score with Brad. Cooked a big dinner. Drove around in my dad’s car and listened to Why? and got a soy chai. Went to Cathie’s new house in Webster Groves. She has twins, a boy and a girl, both adorable and crazy, both with super blonde hair. We put them in the bath and CC explained her dolls to me and Cathie read us all a book about tigers and the twins screamed a lot in a joyful way. Drove home in my dad’s car, listened to more Why?, read Lost at Sea. Pop Tart slept on me again.

Another Linux Gaming Occurance: The Megatouch

Reddit user, mstrmanager, recently posted a comment on a submission of this blog on the /r/linux Subreddit showing a Megatouch machine running CentOS 5.2. These machines are often found in bars and are used for various fun games of all different genres, including Puzzles, Strategy, Action, Cards and Quiz and words. The games normally cost 25-50 cents per play and last generally about 3 minutes. Some of the newer machines use Microsoft Windows® Embedded Standard 7 unfortunately, but still cool to see the older machines using Linux!
