there is underground parking under the domplatte in cologne. that in itself is not spectacular information. however, you can immerse yourself in the history of cologne in this complex, because the remains of the old roman city wall run right through the underground car park, you can look into a cellar from the same period and discover a hidden medieval well. the whole thing is embedded in the brutalist architecture of the garage. on one side, the reinforced concrete of modern times  and on the other its ancient predecessor in an aesthetic symbiosis. and the best thing about it is that even when everything upstairs is flooded with crowds of tourists, it is relatively quiet and empty downstairs. apart from the cars, of course.

graffiti and hamburg, a story in itself that has also just been published in a super illustrated book with background stories "eine stadt wird bunt, hamburg graffiti history 1980-1999".
