What Happens When There Are No More Bitcoins Left?

It is often thought that in 2140, the last bitcoin will be mined. However, if the reward is halved every 210,000 blocks, there will always be a mining reward—assuming the blockchain still exists at that time. The reward will just get smaller and smaller every time there is a halving if the practice continues.

OK so lemme get this straight. Buoys and gulls. You fuckin' adorable little speculative monsters, you. You pithy-minded tar pits. Let me see if I'm "hearing this right:"

Fiat currency bad, because values get bigger to the left of the decimal place. $3.14 becomes $4.14 becomes $5.14, and so on, forever. That's called inflation. That's called money printer go brrr, Jerome Memestyle.

So if you can't already tell blockchain is some darkweb surfaced bullshit, here's something else you should probably "consider:"

Here's the first problem we had. We assumed - we thought for sure - that if the dollar represented gold, well then you can't just "disconnect" the dollar from gold, right? Doesn't that *break* the whole thing?

Tokens like bitcoin, and dogecoin, and etherium, and the hundreds of others can be "spun up" out of "thin air."

Same inflation problem, in fact worse b/c miners, unlike the paper printers, are motivated to precision-inflate the currency forever. At least we can admit the printing is just a "mistake" for fuck's sake you don't wanna motivate the phenomenon. That's a laugh. Who can live on 0.000000000000035312 btc a week? You'll find out. No inflation? Don't make me laugh. The rich start rich and the poor just get poorer as the rich mine and mine and mine themselves into infinite relative wealth. Grats, morons. The wealth gap is now potentially infinite. And the only revolution is a new token with juicy blocks up front, like a new loan with those fat interest payments up front, all the fat's at the top you gotta spin up a new cow until we've got more cattle coins than dollars.

That's where this goes. It was never the gold. It was the people you handed it over to. You can already see the tower of babel forming around this technology.

There's only 1 gold. There's infinite blockchains. There's only 1 silver. There's infinite tokens. There's only so many precious metals. There's infinite meme coins.

You're dreamin' with that shit, kid. This whole thing is a house of cards. You adorable little children. So naive. So, so, so very naive. Assuming your "new rules" will be better than the "old rules that didn't work" is so painfully naive. It pains me. And the tech to mine will only get better and faster at quantum speeds.

Defining a coin as money comes from the branch of language defining gender with words and soforth. This is part of language's take-over of the culture. That's what Orwellianism is; it's not about a "side" of fascists or communists, those are just language constructs. It's about language taking control over objective experience and experiment. It doesn't matter who or which. Any "they" or "them" will do. So it goes the effort and push to "say" it's money, and have it be so.

If anything, blockchain is more dependant on the .grid because now, instead of real cash in-hand, you need operable electronic devices to transact and maintain state of your virtual bits. It's not physical, it's not real. It's even less real than fiat. Fiat is a highly diluted version of reality, blockchain has no reality. It's based on the state of technology powered by a battery. It's got all the intrinsic value of a saved game or a word document. It's not an escape from control and dependence, it's an augmentation of further control and increased dependence on the cultural machine. You are increasingly enmeshed into the technological curve. If we're to pretend money is money, we're already doing that.

It's flat earth-like, the level of denial and dogmatic adherence to the new shiny brass ring idea. The narrative, the rhetoric, the paranoia, it's all there: hook, line & sinker.
