She didn't voice her opinion because she wanted Wuk Lamat to come to her own conclusions (and also was morbidly curious in a way. She is a summoner and also dating the #1 allagan horrors scholar, she does have more than a passing interest in technological soul fuckery) but found it unpleasant and cowardly (and also particularly useless) but most importantly DUMB AS SHIT since the beginning LMAO. "are you stupid?"

The Living Memory reveal did make it sound a little bit less Completely Stupid to her but generally the vibe has always been "getting stuck with your annoying elon musk fanboy coworker in the break room". "oh and the cybertruck can drive on land, you say? mmmh. fascinating. and you can charge it by unlocking the door using your personal NFT. i see."

I think it can vary a lot depending on each wol and their own baggage/personality but to her it was like, well we've been through that before. I think she can't help but slightly despise or at least look down on the Alexandrians who use regulators, because she sees it as a form of denial and cop-out. Like what do you mean you don't even remember your dead loved ones? Just so you can be spared the pain of loss and grief? WIP game: memoryghost!

This was supposed to be a gift fic several years ago, probably for a holiday exchange I couldn’t do because life got in the way. Steve’s stuck in limbo while he’s in the ice, neither dead nor fully alive, and his only tether to the world is Tony. Tony’s the only person who can see and hear him, but they can’t touch and Tony swiftly learns that he can’t talk about Steve because that will land him in trouble. Fast forward to 2012 and Steve and Tony meet. Steve doesn’t remember his time in the ice at all while Tony remembers everything and is confused and hurt by Steve’s behavior—especially because right before Steve fully wakes up in the future, he becomes solid enough for Tony to touch him and they kiss. 

I put this on my WIP list, but looking at what I have, I don’t think I’ll ever post it. I couldn’t figure out whose POV to do (I have three docs, one in Steve’s POV, another in Tony’s, and the third just seems to be a bunch of stuff I wanted to save from both), and I think it’ll hit a lot of the same beats as the post-Endgame MTH 2019 fic I’m working on! 

But here are little bits I liked even though they’re very rough, unedited, and old. I want to edit them, but there isn’t really a point haha. I’ll put them under a read more because this will be long.

STEVE POV

He supposed the signs had already been there. The way that he had known how to fight alongside Tony against the Chitauri without ever having done so. How he had instinctively turned his shield to meet and refract Tony’s repulsor blasts.

The kiss was something that had been a long time coming, and when it happened, Steve should have thought about how he had wanted this for so long and how he finally had it. Instead, he felt the first tendrils of unease crawl under his skin as he placed his hands on Tony’s hips, and when Tony relaxed and began to to return the kiss, something stirred in the faraway recesses of Steve’s mind just out of his reach, like the feather touch of a buried dream.

He knew before Tony moved exactly what Tony would do and when Tony did just that—cupping his face and leaning into him—the strange familiarity was disconcerting enough that he broke off the kiss.

“Sorry, I just...” he said, but he didn’t know what he was saying.

Tony said nothing, and when he looked up, there was something odd in Tony’s eyes, beyond the hurt and self-loathing he saw flashing there before Tony’s expression smoothed over. Understanding, and it was enough for him to take a step back.

“It’s not you,” he said, but the world was still tilting under him. “It’s me.”

He left Tony in the stomach of his workshop, jagged and brittle like the twisted pieces of armor strewn across the floor.

TONY POV

The first time Tony meets Steve, Steve doesn’t even turn to look at him as he lands; he just nods in his direction and says, “Mr. Stark.”

He remembers every detail of the meeting as though it were seared into his memory, a repulsor burn hot enough to scar and painful enough too.

The first time Tony meets Steve, Steve has eyes for only him and he says, “Hey, Tony” like his heart’s being broken and mended all at the same time. His eyes are blue like the sky on the day he was born, and for the rest of his life, that color brings him comfort like nothing else can.

He doesn’t remember this at all.

He’s holding onto the neck of a bottle of scotch when Steve comes in. He should feel ashamed, and a part of him does feel that way, but for the most part, he’s too far gone to care.

Steve's face twists and he makes a half-aborted movement, as though he wanted to reach for the bottle loosely clasped in Tony's hand before realizing he wouldn’t be able to do it at the last minute.

“Tony,” Steve whispers. “I think you’ve had enough to drink.”

Tony’s eyes slides to the bottle in his hand.

“Sometimes I think I made you up,” he slurs.

ghost of a memory is my shl fic about reconnecting with the world against your will

here are notes about the writing and "world building"

my brand is apparently "father figures who do not admit they are fathers"

i want it very clear that i love my father, he is a good father, and he is delighted to tell people he is my father. this isn't some weird therapy thing for me

backstory: zzs inherited the four seasons manor when qin huaizhang died. He left it alone + didn't do anything with it, bc he was still busy with Mysterious Intelligence Work

i do not clarify anything about his mysterious intelligence work bc while i can kinda intuit what goes on in mysterious american intelligence, i have no idea what that looks like in china, and this is set in modern china

i did not do wkx justice. im sorry, my beloved bitch, but i don't know enough poetry and i just don't have a good handle on u yet

i do have a great handle on zhou "tired martial artist who just wants to die" zishu

zzs and wkx fighting over zzs' reactions to getting walked through. i don't think i described it well, but. it's such a fucking mood for them, esp their tyk versions. wkx is always desperate to get a reaction and bother zzs, and zzs believes there's strength in not getting riled up.

how big is four seasons manor? two big practice rooms, small office, kitchenette, two locker rooms, a storage room for mats and weapons, one large bedroom for the leader of the school, a small shrine off that bedroom, 2-3 smaller rooms for live-in disciples. Two bathrooms, i guess. idk man. the smaller rooms for disciples. a courtyard which is currently overgrown. zzs will make zcl clean it up as "training"

god i love writing bad martial arts.

this is def not my best writing. It's rushed and very tell-don't-show, and assumes you already know the concept of the fic. But I'm still proud of 1. zzs eating the slice of orange wkx gave him 2. tiny kitten 3. ("thank you, shifu!" and shit, zhou zishu couldn't correct him) i think that's such a funny sentence

i did not make a "four seasons total landscaping" joke, because this takes place in china and zhou zishu wouldn't make that joke in his head, but i want you to know that i am thinking about it when i read gu xiang's phonecall

post-canon, wen kexing refuses to call the kitten by its name. she, of course, loves him most and gets her fur all over his weird gucci shit
