Do you have any facts about the humboldt squid, cursed or otherwise? They're my favorite animal ^w^

at just over nine feet in length, humbolt squid are about the size of an average human!

they’re mainly active at night, and travel in huge schools!

and all of this sounds really cool, right? well... yes, except for one thing- humbolt squid are voracious hunters and are fuckoff aggressive to humans. (they don’t like lights.)

now admittedly this isn’t USUALLY a problem, since the humbolt squid lives in southern waters and is active at night anyway, but they have been known to attack divers, sometimes en masse! and the term “voracious hunter squid” is suddenly a lot more concerning when there are 15 of them on you attempting to reenact their favorite scene from 20,000 leagues under the sea with their two-inch-long beaks.

can you imagine what this thing would do to your face? well, the humbolt squid would like to find out. don’t get into the water with a humbolt squid.

oh, and climate change is driving them so far north that they’ve been sighted in the waters off of fucking Seattle. so if you live thereabouts and do a lot of night diving, maybe start checking the water for giant angry squid first.

For the mod: I'd just like to say thanks for drawing Kaede with more realistic proportions. Generally with drawn blogs like this, her proportions are just as.... odd as in canon, and it's honestly refreshing to see her drawn like somebody you could see walking down the street on a normal day, especially since it's stated she's canonically chubby but not drawn that way in canon. That is all, thank you for your time, and I'm excited to see where this blog goes. :3

i really like kalem and corbyn's designs!! what's their universe's.... thing, i guess is how you'd say it? like, what's the premise/plot? i'm honestly really intrigued. :3

tl;dr: kalem follows some villains back to their base and gets adopted basically, and corbyn and kalem bicker until they become friends after kalem gets his ass beat at school

ok so ! powers are not uncommon for humans to have in this universe, so theres a lot more jobs ranging anywhere from magical-style entertainment to hero work! and of course by saying hero work there’s obviously villains, which is where kalem comes in! he’s not a villain at first just one of those asshole teenagers who commits more petty crimes like vandalism and shoplifting and whatnot. in kalem’s city is a pretty infamous villain group (which we have yet to name), and at one point kalem is caught in one of their attacks on a public event, and as they retreat back to their base kalem follows! hes immediately threatened when they see him, but after a Lot of arguing he is allowed to live, and he just. never ends up leaving pretty much! a lot of this needs a lot of fleshing out still because we’ve been focusing on a much later major plot point, but!! thats the gist we have so far without much spoiling =)

and as for corbyn, he goes to the same school as kalem, and after kalem gets into a fight he helps him out (im pretty sure the only reason is because it was on corbyn’s way home lmao). they dont get along well at all at first, but neither have any real friends (people to talk to yeah, but you know those people that you hang out with for like a month or two before falling out?? yeah thats their ‘friends’), so its slight enemies to friends, just more like “youre annoying” to friends fghdjgs

oh, and the villain group is a found family and all of them have powers, though some are still being reworked. this story is still a HUGE wip !! but the ones i havent mentioned yet are nix, silas, uda, taren (all my bf’s designs/concepts!), and miscel (mine)! uda is the one who caves first and starts to talk on kalems behalf (but also on the “having another person on the team is useful” type mentality). nix (the leader of the group) is reluctant, but eventually caves, and eventually corbyn also meets them. that is MUCH later though, im leaving out a ton of stuff fgdsgfhj

Alstroemeria - my dream vacation would definitely be to Japan! I've wanted to go since I was about 14. I really want to see Tokyo and Fujiyama of course, but there's a lot of more rural places on my wishlist, too, like the Goshogake Onsen and Ryokan. I've been a supporter of the local Japan-America Society for a long time and usually participate in their Obon festival, too, so I'd love to see what one in Japan looks like!

Carnation - I'm maybe an optimist but I do think true love can be real! I think a lot of people can really love someone but still put their own desires first above the other person in an unhealthy way...but every now and then there are people who have worked on themselves hard enough to be able to love unconditionally and find the right balance between selfless love and the need to take care of themselves!
