summary: enzo comforts you when having a mentally rough period
a/n: my soul needed this one. i don't really want to label reader's mental state because in my mind bpd was the starting point but I think it would fit under the terms of depression as well, that's why I haven't specified it in the pairing (and because i'm not a specialist). also, it contains one of my poems I have not yet posted on my main.

It hasn’t even been a month since the new school year started, only two weeks. Two weeks got you utterly exhausted, and even that was an understatement. It felt like you had forgotten to talk, taking a little too long to answer, to process things – to think. Your head felt heavy with emptiness, your entire body ached as it didn’t seem to be able to release stress, holding onto it deep in your bones, low in your back.
It wasn’t just fatigue, it was emotional and mental exhaustion that made you want to lie in bed all day, yet your sensible side made you get up every day and go to your classes.
Those damn lessons.
You went to all of them, tried to siphon in as much of each subject as you could but your mind was elsewhere all the time.
At how sick you were.
At how tired you were.
And in the afternoons you did nothing other than lie in bed, trying to convince your mind that it was okay, there was nothing wrong with you, and that you needed to study.
Just five more minutes.
Oops, It’s been ten minutes ago.
Anyway.
You’re gonna start studying at next-hour-o’clock.
You didn’t.
At dinner you were only pushing your relatively small portion of food back and forth on your plate, your mind foggy with very negative thoughts as the chatter of your friends next to you blurred into an indistinctive mess of different voices over your head.
You were silent,
and lethargic,
all the time.
It was after dinners when you lay in bed, hoping this was a phase or something you’d eventually get over. But in the back of your mind, you knew you wouldn’t.
And you didn’t really want to, either – you felt so down, so numb that you felt like you couldn’t move in the direction of getting better.
Not properly.
Not permanently.
Lying there, alone, you couldn’t think of anything better than causing your own pain, physically – at least you’d feel something, wouldn’t you? Even if it’d hurt – maybe you’d deserve it. Maybe you’d deserve it because you had spent your entire summer not doing anything valuable, pushed down these feelings of despair, hurt, pain, depression. You didn’t study saying you couldn’t pay attention and you were tired – of course you were when you kept staying up endlessly, only getting mere hours of sleep and not eating enough.
Maybe you did deserve to feel this way.
You missed the affection, just a hug at least, from your friends. But you have been so withdrawn from them and they were all beating around the bush, not knowing how to corner the question of your visibly deteriorating mental health.
It was Enzo though, who paid the most attention to you; he knew you like the palm of his hand, even if you hadn’t realised it. He cared about you, probably more than he should’ve. He’d known all your mood swings, and even when you had better days, he knew you were going to be just as down, if not even worse in just a matter of days.
He couldn’t bear seeing you like this, he missed the carefree, loving Y/N you were. He missed his Y/N. Every word you spoke felt like a dagger to his heart as your tone only made it obvious just how tired and ill you were. Every time he saw you scribbling into your notebook he knew contained your poetry his heart ached, even when it was just two words.
He knew you were starting to give it all up.
Life.
You didn’t cry, and that was obvious – you’ve never been one to cry much or cry immediately when something relatively bad happened, or when it was something that you took too personally, nor when one of the bandages you thought were securely protecting your wounds were ripped off, not suddenly but slowly to hurt even more as it stuck to the surface of your heart. No, you took it, held yourself together, trying to maintain the facade you built so well and perfected over the years of suffering from whatever game your mind was playing with you.
Because the more people knowing you’re hurt the more able to hurt you.
Because the more pain you show the less people will think of you.
Because the more you trust the more leaving you and hurting you in the end, the more betraying you.
You were more on the bottling-up side, but the bottle always spilt in the end when it couldn’t hold more.
More suffering, more floating, more silence, more pain.
So, two weeks after your seventh and last year at Hogwarts had started, here you were, writing a new poem in the Astronomy Tower.
I find nirvana; I’ll exist in eternal peace, you wrote the last two lines, the cool autumn breeze in your hair.
“Y/N?” Enzo’s voice echoed through your ears, and closing your notebook, you looked up at him. This was the day the bottle broke – you’ve been crying before writing your poem.
Startled by your red eyes, he looked at you with concern. “Y/N, were you crying?” he immediately crouched down in front of you, and as he took your face in his palms gently, you could feel the dam break again. You didn’t like this. No, you couldn’t be crying in front of him.
“Just, uh, tired,” you answered in a low tone, trying to convince him – or yourself, rather.
He looks down at the notebook and shakes his head, “Liar. Let me see.”
You hesitated – how could you possibly show him what you were feeling? It took you weeks to be able to put it into words, and it’s not too happy. “Please,” he asked softly, one hand caressing your cheek, the other reaching down for the notebook in your lap. And you let him, knowing he’d get what he wanted anyway.
You saw his facial muscles twitch and tense up as he read its title, his hand falling off your face: ‘goodbye.’
His eyebrows knotted in a frown at first, glancing up at your once lively eyes, now missing the bright, pure shine they used to have.
You watched as his expression became sad and even more concerned as he breezed through your lines written.
these lines; I plan them to be the last ones I write and speak, so that I can be free in a world where pain doesn’t exist, where no clouds disfigure the sky. I go tonight; I don’t regret and don’t look back, I’m not afraid to leave anymore, I give up the fight, I end the war. i lie down tonight and drift to sleep, I unite with nature forever, and release the built-up hurt and pain. I find nirvana; I’ll exist in eternal peace.
“Y/N, you–” he shook his head as he lifted his head again, meeting your eyes. But you, you couldn’t look into his, you felt like you’d break immediately. You were afraid of what emotion would look back at you. Hurt? Sadness? Disappointment? Or would he look at you differently?
“I’m sorry,” you muttered, shaking your head, keeping it hanging low.
He cupped your face again to make you meet his gaze, gently yet forcefully tilting your head upwards. His eyes, as always had that caring look in them, mixing with concern, and a sense of fear that he’d lose you washed over him.
He’d lose you, before it was nature’s job to cross your path together, before he could even confess to you.
“...Why haven’t you told me?” he asked in a low, broken voice. Fuck, he couldn’t lose you.
You couldn’t answer him at first – how could you tell him that you’d been feeling like shit for weeks again? That the longer you’re alive the less you’re living? The more days you survive the more of your want to live, and the more of your shine you lose. you took a long breath and with a tremble tugging at your lips, you shook your head while a stray fat tear rolled down your cheek.
“Y/N, darling…” he pulled you in for a hug and as his arms enveloped you tightly, your salty tears started raining down your cheeks again, lading on the fabric of his hoodie.
“I’m sick…” you sob into his chest, not able to hold anything back anymore, not in front of him as your fists clutch the fabric on his back. “And I’m tired too.”
You weren’t fireproof, that was for a fact, and he knew it too, probably better than anyone. You didn’t want to burn in your own flames but you felt it, felt it burning you and spread over onto him, burning him too. You were holding on to him for dear life, hoping your own miserable state of mind wouldn’t murder you.
“...I hope I don’t burden you,” you trembled against his body and he held you tighter.
“You could never,” he assured you, shaking his head. “Never, honey. You’re not a burden.”
You didn’t need to say much, he’d known almost everything already. He just held you tight against him, as if you could just slip away and disappear if he wouldn’t – and the truth is, you could’ve, especially in this state. And you kept gripping his hoodie as you slowly calmed down in his arms, while his heartbeat gave yours a soothing rhythm to follow.
You were slowly coming to your senses that felt numb all this time – his cologne was a nice mix of sandalwood and citrus which filled your nostrils and made you feel at home, even more at ease, his touch warm and soothing under your sweater, rubbing your skin through the thin layer of your shirt, his voice sending your mind into a state of contentment as he kept whispering sweet nothings into your ear, and yet again, you couldn’t help but wonder what his lips would taste like. You’d been friends for a long time and you didn’t want to ruin the relationship you two have built up over the years.
Then the three little words left his lips involuntarily; “I love you.”
You felt him stiffen against you as the realisation that he indeed said that out loud hit him, and coming down from your surprise, and trying to control your rapid heartbeat, you lift your head from his chest and meet his eyes. How could he love an emotional wreck like you?
“Y-you what?” you asked as if you hadn’t heard it right.
He gulped, trying to swallow his fear of rejection before repeating his words, “I said I loved you,” he led his hands onto your waist under your sweater as you pulled back slightly to look into his eyes, but kept drawing you in lightly.
Without any further hesitation, you crashed your lips against his, afraid this was only a dream, hence wanting to enjoy every second of it and take it to the fullest.
His lips were so soft and moved so in sync with yours, and you wanted nothing more than to stay like that forever, wrapped in his embrace, with your lips connected, your tongues dancing around, making your mouths a ballroom, available for only them.
You pulled back just to come up for air and to clarify one thing. “I love you too.”
Your words sent a jolt of electricity and happiness down his spine, and he leaned his forehead against yours before reassuringly whispering to you, “I’m not leaving. We’re in this together and you can count on me, anytime, anywhere. Just- don’t shut me out. Please… I need you here with me.”
You nodded against his skin and let out a heavy sigh. You knew it would be a long way, a really deep dive. But until it was him swimming with you it didn’t matter that you were out in the open. It wasn’t a sudden light, a newfound wave of relief taking you out to the shore, but the beach seemed closer than ever.

𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐨
chris sturniolo x reader
Tumblr media
summary: headcanons for dating chris
warnings/notes: none?
requested?: yes
> > >
it’s been established already that Chris’ love language is physical touch
but when you start dating, it definitely kicks up a notch - holding your hand constantly, arm around your shoulders, knees touching, holding pinkies, etc.
he tries to be as attentive as he can, but sometimes he won’t necessarily notice that you’re in a bad mood, so you have to let him know
is always open to communication. that’s his number one thing in a relationship. it can be something completely minuscule - he doesn’t care. he always wants to hear if he’s done something wrong, and vice versa he’ll tell you if you’ve upset him
he actually doesn’t mind pda, but if you’re not comfortable with it he’ll 100% tone it down for you
holds your hand and puts it in his hoodie pocket if it’s cold
he has his set taste in music, but if you suggest a song or artist that you’re really excited about, he’ll listen to them occasionally even if he doesn’t like them
always wants to see you happy. he’ll make stupid jokes or do something that he knows you’ll laugh at just to see you smile
his ideal date doesn’t really involve something extravagant. he really just wants to be in your presence, so most of the time he’ll plan something cute like a movie marathon or trying to bake together. (in chris’ words: “just come over bro and let’s just kick it bro”)
loves when you play with his hair. he doesn’t like when other people touch it, but for you he’ll make an exception
constantly taking pictures of you. you could be eating and have sauce all over your face and he’ll still think you’re beautiful and wants to capture the moment
always wants to wake up next to you - he loves sleepovers
will pay for you when you’re out no matter how much you refuse. he just loves treating you to nice things
he genuinely believes you deserve the world
chris is incredibly understanding and patient when he needs to be. he lets you talk things out and will sit and listen intently no matter what it is
also he’s surprisingly good at giving advice
his favorite place to kiss is definitely your forehead and hands
places little pecks on your palms and hands whenever he’s holding them
he’s the type to cover the corners of the tables when you’re leaning down to get something so you don’t hit your head
he’s always giggly and giddy around you and will be flustered whenever you’re on camera with him
your relationship will probably be away from the public eye for a long time, but if you ever did go public he would constantly post videos and pictures of you guys together because he loves showing you off
speaking of showing you off he’ll 100% hype up your outfits and social media posts
he does have slight commitment issues but once he’s committed he’s all in - 101%
incredibly loyal and will stand up for you no matter what. he doesn’t appreciate people disrespecting you and encourages you to stand your ground as well - like dude will stick out his neck for you and anyone else he loves
fr the type to throw u over his shoulder and run with you into the water when you’re at the beach
if you have mental health issues he’ll ask matt for help or do his own research on how to help you best
he’s always there for you. no matter the time, no matter the place. if he sees you’re uncomfortable or you express that you’re upset he’ll do his best to bring you somewhere quiet so you can talk it out or just have a breather
will sit in silence with you if you need it, but is also really good at distracting you from whatever is on your mind
all in all this boy is head over heels for you

To drown your sadness in a sea song. ⋆。𖦹 °.
Pairing: Noah Sebastian x mermaid!reader Parts: one - two - three - four - five - epilogue Trigger warnings: mental health issues; implied depression.
Tumblr media
PART ONE — THE KISS | Words: 1.3k
He’s heard tales about creatures like her before. He’s certain his grandma used to read books about them to him as a child. Mermaids. He doesn’t remember much, though. He doesn’t know what to say or what to do. He just stares at her.
Her face is heart-shaped. She’s got long hair cascading over a bare torso. Her lips are thin and pink, her eyes vast and blue as the ocean itself. Tiny patches of shiny scales adorned her shoulders, chest, and wrists, while from the waist down, her legs are missing. Instead, a beautiful tail flaps against the water.
She’s the most magnificent thing he’s ever seen. Not in a beautiful way, but in a mesmerizing sort of manner. He can’t keep his eyes of her, maybe because she’s also staring straight at him.
They don’t say anything.
Noah is here, in this secluded corner of the earth, a piece of land hidden from the rest of the world by towering rocks on the shoreline. Things hadn’t been good lately, and the whole ordeal going on with work and his colleagues has started to take a toll on him.
The thoughts that haunted him the night before were unsettling and dangerous. They scared him and kept him awake. To avoid the story from repeating itself, today he left his house before those thoughts got the worst of him.
He came down to this distant beach because they say that gazing at the vast expanse of the ocean puts life’s troubles into perspective and makes them seem insignificant. He’s not convinced about it, but the creature staring directly into his eyes has certainly seized his attention, and all he wants to do is to approach her, ask her why she’s there instead of traversing the ocean’s depths, and what sort of fascinating thing she’s seen in him that’s keeping her gaze fixed upon him.
The first thing he asks her is her name, but he gets no reply.
Mermaids are known for their alluring voices and their melodious songs, however, under the moon’s gentle glow that first night, Noah realizes that this mermaid has no voice. He finds out because of the pained and disappointed expression that crossed her features each time he sought answers and each time she couldn’t provide.
It’s painful to watch. A deep-seated desperation for something to go right courses through him.
As if sensing his distress, she splashes some water his way, just a few droplets to catch his attention again. This time, she has a little smile on her face, and it’s sweet and innocent.
He decides he feels at peace merely looking at her, and if that’s what the sea has got to offer him, he will take it.
It’s been ten minutes or maybe an hour. Noah is not sure, and he doesn’t care. He lets the minutes meld into hours. He doesn’t want to worry about time anymore. He knows once he’s back home and away from the ocean he will have to get back to the mundane; phone calls, meetings, a working schedule, and all that. But for now, while he’s here, with her, time doesn’t matter. They regard each other with the intensity of a summer storm.
She disappears after a while.
The second time he meets her, she offers him something more than just her smile and company.
She extends her arm out of the water, droplets cascading between her fingers, and Noah instinctively opens his palm out for her. When she drops the amulet, it’s the first time they touch. It’s merely the brush of her fingertips against the skin of his palm, but it’s enough for him to know that he wants more.
Looking at it, Noah feels grateful. In his hand lays a necklace. It’s just a piece of weathered thin rope, adorned with a glass pendant containing a miniature world: inside, there is a bit of the ocean, a few drops only, a sprinkle of sand, and a minuscule pearl. The weight of it is not much. All the same, he’s convinced he’s holding a treasure from the depths.
When he looks up, she’s looking at it with a mesmerizing smile, content that even if she cannot offer him the gift of her voice, she could give him something else.
There’s sweetness in her eyes.
Yearning, too.
He can guess enough by the look on her face: she wants to communicate with him, to tell him something. Yet, she cannot bring herself to, and the pain of it spreads through her delicate features as they stare at each other after he’s muttered a low ‘thank you’.
She motions around her neck and then signals to him. Understanding her unspoken message, he hangs the necklace around his neck. Her expression shifts and she’s smiling again. It’s just a tiny smile but it will do for now. She sees him reciprocate the feeling, too, and that’s all she had hoped for tonight.
The young man is beautiful, and she wants to tell him. He’s goodhearted despite the thoughts that have been scarring his mind for the past weeks and she wants to acknowledge him that she can feel it.
Instead, she can only offer him a place of her home in that precious necklace, hoping that he will understand that he’s worth the ocean.
The third time he goes down to the beach it isn’t just to seek solace from the noise of the world. It’s also because he longs to see her. A voice in his head tells him he might be under an enchantment, some sort of bewitchment. She’s after all, a mythological creature, and he’s too mundane and too rational to believe this is real. Life is no magic tale, or is it?
Maybe it’s all in his head.
Maybe the sleepless night, the headaches, the arguments with his teammates, his dissatisfaction at the turn his life has taken has started to show its effects. Nevertheless, he wants to see her, if only one last time.
She’s already waiting for him by the time he arrives, but she’s cautious. She’s perched behind a massive rock partially submerges. She peers at the descending path in anticipation of his arrival. The way they greet each other feels like they’ve reached home after a long journey.
Her tail gently flaps at the water as she rests her body on the shore, her forearms and palms laid on the sand, her long neck stretched towards him.
Noah doesn’t stop. He takes off his shoes and socks, but he doesn’t bother rolling his jeans up.
He crouches down. The water laps at his feet, seeping into his clothes. The salt tang of the ocean fills his senses. She’s shining under the moonlight when he grasps her chin with his thumb and the bend of his index finger.
Droplets of water rest on her eyelashes. There’s no fear in her eyes. Her lips are wet, and he dives right for them.
He kisses her, his lips trapping her lower lip in a tender clasp.
Worried that she might pull back, he’s taken by surprise when, instead, she presses her mouth harder against his and parts her lips a little to give him more access. It’s like diving into the depths of the ocean, tasting a bit of the world we know so little of.
If the water touching his feet is cold, he cannot tell anymore. A shot of warmth is spreading through him as he moves his lips ever so slowly against hers. He would have loved to elicit a moan from her, some sound, but he knows by now that’s not going to happen, and he doesn’t let the disappointment take a hold of him. He relishes in the comfort of kissing the shiny creature in the water, thinking that if this is the respite the ocean has got for him, he’ll gladly take it.

Season 4, when Sam and dean sre separated after dean finds out about the demon blood, sam overdoses on his antidepressants. Suicidal!Sam calls dean, and dean comes to his aid. Protective dean and very protective bobby, and a little bit anti castiel at the begining (he's kind of a jerk, but he does care about sam in his own way).

maybe not the usual but.. daniel/michael
(sorry, i love the drama of a long term relationship break up)
man don't care - JME & Giggs (for the Spotify shuffle prompts)
sorry i'm so maxiel otp i had to make this a friendship break up, i hope thats cool!
Daniel can feel Michael's eyes on him. Insistent even though there's like, at least twenty cameras pointed in their direction. Or, Daniel's direction. Everyone wants a piece of him now he's back.
"Yeah, I'm happy to be driving," he says, for what must be the thirtieth time in just as many minutes. Ignores the prickle the creeps up his spine. "The break was good for me, but now- I'm ready."
He's more than ready. He's going to be fucking triumphant. Just needs Maxy to keep Checo eating his rubber for a few more races, and then he's going to get everything that was promised to him when he was twenty-five. A championship winning car. A real fight.
It feels closer, within just the stretch of his fingertips in a way it never did back then.
"Danny Ric is back, baby," he grins, and lets the clatter of camera clicks wash over him.
Afterwards, in the coridoor Michael corners him. Daniel glances over top of his shoulder, desperate for some sort of escape or excuse, but there's too many prying eyes to brush him off completely. Unless he wants some bullshit, speculative article being written about it.
"Hey," he says with a tight nod when Michael just puts a hand on his shoulder and doesn't say anything. Ignores all the early mornings spent panting into his yoga matt it reminds him of, Michael correcting his form.
He doesn't have time for small talk, or whatever this is. Who'd have thought, that even without being his trainer, Michael would still be able to wind up that tight coil of tension inside him.
"Are you really happy?" Michael asks eventually, when most of the room has cleared out.
And that's some fucking nerve coming from him.
"I don't know, Mikey," he says after a beat of disbelief. He brushes his hand away roughly and steps back. "Maybe if you picked up the phone once in the winter break, you'd know, huh?"
Michael's eyes dip to the floor, like he's ashamed. Good, Daniel thinks, viciously. Where the fuck where you when I needed you?
"Mate, come on," Michael tries anyway, though his voice is hardly louder than a mumble. "You know we were a little toxic by the end of last season."
Toxic. Like Daniel is another client looking for 'mental health coaching,' and not someone who used to ride his bike to the beach with Michael when they were 13. Daniel scoffs.
"Oh you mean when I started being shit and lost my job?" He asks with a hollow laugh. "When my whole life was falling apart? Yeah mate, sorry if I was a little less than gracious to you around that time."
You're being unfair, some traitourous niggle at the back of his brain tells him. Knows that 'less than gracious' doesn't even cover it, but- But fuck Michael. None of it stopped himself getting a cushy new job lined up, coming out on top while Daniel found himself fired at thirty-three.
Michael looks at him again, daring to look only halfway apologetic.
"I wasn't your punching bag," He says firmly, like he's already found his second wind. Like he can read Daniel's mind, and after years spent in each other's pockets, he probably can. Can smell cracks in Daniel's resolve from a mile away, like some blood sniffing shark.
I know you, Daniel finds himself wanting to yell, though it wouldn't even make any sense.
Not today. Daniel isn't that guy anymore.
"No, you were my friend," he says, giving the wall next to him two hard slaps with the palm of his hand. "But fuck me I guess, for needing you. Won't make that mistake again."

the reason why my August vacation is so important...
This is a long, kinda emotional for me journal <3
As I mentioned a while ago, I was splitting my usual two weeks in June of debauchery (sleeping & laying in the sun & hiking in the woods outback lol) into one week last month and then saved the last week for the end of August.
I also wanted to explain the significance of this trip! Less about having to justify my time off and more about 'eeee excite omg!' and wanted to share with y'all!
SO a long time ago when I was a wee Charlie, from age 0 up to 21, I was incredibly close to my grandparents on my mom's side. My nana died when I was 15, and while that took a huge toll on me, I was fortunate enough to have my grandpa till 21. These two people were absolutely second parents. My parents did a good enough job raising me, but they had huge fights and my father had anger issues and it caused a lot of wounds. These were the people I could always rely on, when I couldn't rely on my folks.
They lived 2 hours away on a wonderful lake in a lil tiny trailer over looking it. I spent weeks at a time there, even the occasional month. I learned to swim in that lake, which in hindsight prolly wasn't the safest idea due to its depth, and grew up to be obsessed with swimming. Learned how to sail, ski, fish. Learned how to bake, tend a garden, how a fresh bowl of fruit in the morning should be before breakfast.
We'd swim 3x a day, sometimes just to float and cool down before bed, since there was no a/c and the summer nights were hot. Laid on our backs and counted stars like the Lion King. Fried trout on the grill after we'd caught them, had watermelon seed spittin' contests. My grandpa grew pumpkins and carved my name into one, so that the writing grew bigger and bigger over the months. I had one pumpkin live from September to April.
My handprint is on the last cement step leading down to the beach. It was eroded when we scattered my grandpa's ashes in 2014, but I remember where it was, how to place my palm to compare.
I guess I'd say I had a mixed childhood of various great, good, bad, and horrible things. Like most people, yanno? But those golden summer days on the lake were 100% a part of who I am today, and where my many of my happiest memories come from.
Due to me being in college, cost to heat the place in winter when they had no intention of living there, my family sold the property on the lake to an investor who planned to rent it out.
This was 2014. The same year he died, the same year my horse died (within 2 months of each other) and one of my father's many health issues landed him in the hospital from Oct to Dec, so that he spent xmas on an iv stand. With everything going on, we had no time or money for a big dinner, or presents that year.
I guess that was the first year I realized childhood was truly and officially over, and it was time to grow up. Many of us have that marked moment on our life.
Time passed. I finished college, went back home after turning down a few out of state jobs to spend time with my dad, who I had a feeling didn't have much time left. Turned out I was right, as I came home in 2015 and he died in 2022. There was an accident in '16 where he almost bled to death on our kitchen floor, but I was able to provide pressure/medical care and give him some more years.
Shortly after we moved in 17, I was notified that the house on the lake had been rented to someone who unfortunately had a lot of issues mental health wise, and they had eventually abandoned the property. It sat, rotting, and got so covered on the inside in black mold the county leveled the place and destroyed it.
We had left it fully furnished due to the buyer's urging. Ancient, stunning mid century and older furniture from my great-great grandparents time. My nana's organ player. The rocker my mom and I sat in. And, frankly, to quote one of those popular songs, the house that built me was just gone.
I figured that was the end of it, and cried and got angry/sad and then moved on and just tried surviving as covid hit later on in the years.
Turns out, the man who rented it decided that wasn't going to happen again. He put a new trailer on the property, and rented it out for vacationing due to it's location. We didn't know this until I stumbled across it while daydreaming about a vacation on the lake that I missed it was a relative, one I could at least go back to for a few days. My heart skipped so many beats when I saw the address and paused, thinking there had to be come mistake. It wasn't.
Not only can I spend time on that property again (in a new house which honestly might be for the best) But turns out, for whatever reason, they kept the furniture separate and placed a few pieces into the new house. There's a photo of the rocker in the layout photos. The two level lamp they had is still intact and functioning. I booked the place for a week immediately.
It's expensive for me, but my girlfriend and I will make it work. (Certainly not like we have far to travel.) We're going to be there smack dab in the middle of my Grandfather's birthday. I haven't had a true, just-for-me vacation since 2015 when we went to a camping ground. The excitement I have for this is immeasurable.
The dock my Dad and Grandpa put in themselves is fixed up. The crumbled little cement step is still there with a tiny indent, where my 4 yr old hand was pressed. I am going back to this place, and going back in time for just a short while, to heal and have fun and be a whole mess of emotions. I never got to say good bye to my Nana or Grandpa.
But I can say goodbye to them now, and say 'hello again, old friend' to the lake, and the new little house that sits before it.
That is why i am so excited about august. I know I don't share personal things on here a ton, but I wanted to share this. Thank you for reading this far if you have, I appreciate it.
I hope you have a wonderful day and remember how important you are <3 And as always stay hydrated! -Charlie

Prompts for Days: 41. “Have you lost your fucking mind?”
A semi-sequel to this fic. Based on my original very incorrect theory on what horrible creature might eat my beloved turtle son in the Rishi stronghold.
The sand was soft and fine under Theron’s feet, and the breathtaking blue waters of Rishi lapped at his toes as the waves fell in succession on the shore. He and his wife walked over the shore, their fingers laced together, the warm sun and summer breeze dancing in their hair. It was another beautiful, balmy day in this slice of paradise that Theron still couldn’t quite wrap his mind around the fact that it was theirs.
This was their first visit to their secret little hideaway on Rishi, purchased on an impulse during their honeymoon. The deep ding into their savings still smarted every time he logged into their account — but it was worth every credit, to see the wide, beaming smile on his wife’s face as they walked down the Defender’s boarding ramp to look out on their home away from home.
He’d had to arrange for a proper inspection, furniture delivery, and all the less than ideal aspects of home ownership before they’d had to return to “real life” on Odessen. As a result, they hadn’t had time on their honeymoon to explore the breadth of the property. Although he had managed to sneak in at least one “celebration” up on the balcony that overlooked the magnificent view that was now technically “theirs”.
This second trip, though, was all about relaxing and enjoying themselves. They were taking it slowly, savoring the seclusion and paradise that was their little slice of heaven. They ambled along the shoreline towards the unexplored edge of their property, and the large sea turtle who’d been sunning itself on the rocky part of the shoreline noticed the two humans and lumbered in their direction.
But despite the moniker lovingly given to him by Grey, “Speedy” was having difficulty keeping up with their pace.
Her face lit up on seeing Speedy — really, half the reason they had bought this place was just so he could see that look on her face, again and again. Their pace was forced to slow as she gushed over the little guy, telling the turtle about how much she’d missed him. If Theron didn’t know any better, he’d almost think the creature actually understood her.
“That’s quite the smile you’ve got there, Theron Shan.” She squeezed his hand, the wind blowing the loose strands from her ponytail around her face. “What are you thinking about?”
“Just admiring the view,” he said, pulling her a little closer so she would realize he wasn’t talking about the beach, or that damn turtle.
Her cheeks flushed red, freckles on her nose crinkling as she tried to duck her head. “I’m—”
“The absolute best view here on Rishi? Mm, yes, I’d have to say so.”
“You’re just trying to get me back up on that balcony again.” The red flush deepened ever so slightly.
“Would that be so bad?”
“Later. When Speedy has gone back to his cave. I don’t want to mentally scar him.”
“He’s a turtle. I don’t think he cares.” He looked down at the reptile in question. “Isn’t that right, Shell-face?”
“Theron, it’s a turtle. He doesn’t speak Basic.”
“You’re the one concerned about his mental health!”
“He still has feelings!”
“So do you,” he leaned in close, voice low and husky, “and I’d like to explore them.”
“You’re incorrigible.” The crimson flush spread down the column of her neck, and turned her head with a flutter of her eyelashes.
“Is that a no?”
“It’s a ‘not yet’. I still want to see where that path leads.”
“Pretty sure it’s a dead end,” he replied, letting her hand slip back into its familiar place against his palm as they wound their way down the shady, rock-lined footpath at the edge of the beach.
A thin trickle of seawater made its way back into the perimeter of their property along the path. The trek was made more hazardously slick by the loose, damp sand that coated the terrain.
“It almost looks like a drainage ditch,” Grey mused idly. “Was that on the plans?”
“I left my datapad back in the apartment,” he reminded her. “You said no work.”
She huffed out a breath. “This is a vay-cay-tion.”
“And yet we somehow still spend it finding new adventures,” he shot back.
“You wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Well, that was true. With Grey around, Theron’s life had never been boring. A vacation was all about recharging and enjoying the finer things in life; spending time together and getting to know one another in a way that was impossible in the constant chaos that was their daily lives.
Although he should have known that nonstop adventures came with the territory of marrying a Jedi. He had just hoped for their vacation adventures to be more of the bedroom variety.
They continued to carefully pick their way along the path, until it reached what looked like an old, rusty drainage pipe jutting out from the edge of a cliff, a large metal grate blocking the way.
“Looks like the end of the road,” he said.
“Hold on,” she said, pulling her hand out from his as she frowned, approaching the grate. “I think... There’s a note here?”
“A note?” Theron frowned. “On a sewer grate? Why would anyone bother to leave a note there?”
She shushed him, leaning forward to peer at a large sign that had been nailed in the center of the grate. Her hand brushed across the sign.
“It’s a notice of some sort.”
“What kind of notice?”
“Caution,” she read out loud, “do not open. It’s always hungry.”
“Hungry?” Theron frowned. “What is always hungry?”
“It’s...” she trailed off, a frown stealing across her features as she suddenly straightened, like someone had plucked a string on an instrument only she could hear. “It’s big.”
“It? What is ‘it’—?”
That’s when he heard the eponymous ‘it’ — the deep clack of large claws snapping, and the low thunder like rumble of large legs stomping from the darkness, as a giant cove crab lunged at the grate. The thing was massive, at least twice the size of the shaclaws that roamed Sky Ridge Island and Raider’s Cove. Its large, muscular legs seemed almost small compared to the menacing claws that could easily crush any creature unfortunate enough to cross its path.
Kind of like them.
Grey leapt back in one graceful movement, speed enhanced by the Force that flowed through her. The metal creaked and groaned as the beast flung itself, trying to grab at easy prey.
“Yeah, I would say that thing looks hungry,” he shouted, his hand instinctively going towards his hip where his blaster usually sat, but only brushed against the slick material of his swim trunks.
Right. Vacation.
Meaning he’d actually, for once in his life, left his weapon back up at the apartment—they both had. Because this was meant to be a relaxing trip.
The metal on the grate groaned as the crab flung itself at the metal separating it from its breakfast. It had clearly been installed a long, long time ago — and public works hadn’t exactly been a strong point on Rishi since the pirates had taken over. From the amount of rust on the grate, the sea air had been corroding the metal for some time.
“I don’t think that’s going to hold much longer,” he said, as the mass of claws and spikes kept throwing itself at the barrier.
Even as he said it, the metal on the grate gave another great groan, and the panel burst outwards towards them. In the split moment before it fell, Grey had leapt backwards, yanking Theron with her. They tumbled across the rocky path before both scrambling to their feet to face the now free and very hungry monstrosity.
The crab snorted, the thick, green carapace on its back shuddering as it chittered, then lunged towards them. With instincts borne from a lifetime of battle, they avoided the claws that snapped at them, just barely as they tried to maintain their footing on the slippery sand.
“We should probably run,” Theron said. “Seafood is not really my thing. And you’re a vegetarian.”
Humor was how Theron coped, even in, or especially if the timing was horrible. She shot him a glare even as she propelled him down the path with a shove of the Force.
“Go!” she shouted.
That was kind of the plan they both had in action, but as he turned around, he saw that she had stopped following, and instead had planted herself square in the crab's path.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing?”
“Distracting it,” she called over her shoulder. “Save Speedy!”
“Speedy?” Theron sputtered. “You want me to save the damn turtle?”
“He’s our friend,” she called, as she dodged a swipe of claws, “and I’m not letting the poor thing get eaten! There’s no way he’ll be able to outrun this thing!”
Theron frowned. She was right; he supposed. The turtle would have no chance of escaping the crab’s grasp. “But—”
Grey leapt into the air, the jump propelled to unnatural heights by the Force. The crab opened its claws, missing her by a hair’s breadth as she flipped mid-air. She arced over its head before landing gracefully on its shell.
“Have you lost your kriffing mind?” Theron shouted.
“Go!”
She was not making a suggestion. She was giving an order. He snorted an angry breath, but knew that there was no arguing with her when she switched into heroic Jedi mode. He charged back down the path, hoping to maybe find something he could turn into a makeshift weapon against the giant crab — only to see the shell of one, stubborn and clearly unwary sea turtle peek around the corner as it steadily made its way down the path after his human friends.
“Oh, for the love of—!” Theron cursed as he ran towards the stupid reptile. “No, Speedy! Get back!”
The turtle just gave Theron a wide-eyed, almost confused look, as he wrapped his arms around the animal’s shell and attempted to heave it up into his arms—and nearly threw out his back at attempting to heft five hundred pounds of stubbornly immovable Testudine.
“Speedy,” he growled, “you need to go on a diet!”
Theron abandoned his attempts to carry the animal out of harm’s way and instead tried to push the turtle back towards the beach. Speedy just blinked at the spy, and Theron could swear he looked offended.
“Just go!” he yelled.
Speedy blinked at him once. Twice. And then, at turtle-like speed, took a step towards the beach. Then another. Theron looked back over his shoulder at the giant crab bearing down on the both of them.
Seeming to finally sense the danger, Speedy peered its head in the direction Theron was looking, took one look at the beast lumbering towards them—and retreated into his shell.
“That is not helpful!”
He was going to die.
Eaten by a giant man-eating crab as he tried and failed to protect a blasted sea turtle. It was, quite possibly, the most embarrassing way to go. His only comfort was that he would be too dead to hear anyone mock him about it.
Theron looked up from his failed attempts to move the stubborn turtle, and watched as the beast coming towards them suddenly veered away as if directed to by an unseen force—or rather, the Force. He spied his wife, still atop the crab, holding her hand out, as if directing the creature’s movements.
It passed by man and turtle without a second look, heading down the path and towards the beach. Theron scrambled to his feet, leaving Speedy behind as he tried to keep pace.
Despite the crab’s best efforts to buck Grey off, she kept her balance. As the massive beast hit the wet sand, she braced her feet against the carapace and pushed off with all her strength, flipping high into the air as it crashed into the waves and kept on swimming.
She landed in the soft sand, panting, hand still held out as if still directing the beast with the Force.
Theron finally reached his wife and caught her in his arms before she fell to her knees. She flashed him a grateful smile, before turning a worried gaze at the green shell disappearing off into the horizon. “I hope that isn’t a mistake to send it that way.”
“Well, I hope it eats those stupid pirates,” Theron muttered petulantly.
“Theron Shan,” she admonished. “Don’t be mean.”
“Yeah, well,” he brushed her bangs out of her face as he looked her over for any signs of injury, “after dealing with a crab the size of a rancor, I’ve earned the right to be a little cross.”
“That was not exactly what I had expected to find,” she admitted.
“Are you hurt?” he asked.
“I’m all right,” she assured him, and then smiled so wide that her nose crinkled, “and so is Speedy.”
“Yeah, not for lack of trying.”
“You’re still my hero,” she said, as she rose to her feet and gave him a peck on the cheek.
“Enough of a hero to get you back out on that balcony?” He asked, pulling her closer.
“Hmm,” she considered, leaning into his embrace. “You were pretty brave.”
As if on cue, the turtle poked its head around the corner, looked at the couple, chirped, and then made its way over to his rescuer. Speedy nudged Grey’s hand with his head and then made a little huffing noise before he rubbed his shell against her hand.
Theron rolled his eyes, trying his best not to smile at the cooing noises she was making as she pet the turtle.
“Next time, I’m leaving you with the crab.”
“Aw, he doesn’t mean that,” she assured Speedy. “He’s just grumpy.”
“I’m not grumpy,” Theron protested as he pulled his wife closer to his embrace. “Just ready to get back to our vacation.”
“I suppose that’s fair,” Grey agreed, as she closed her eyes and leaned into her husband’s embrace, and absently run her hand over Speedy’s shell.
Together, the three of them watched the sun as it continued its slow ascent into the sky, basking them in its warm glow. And for this moment, at least, all was calm and peaceful. Just the two of them, enjoying a tranquil tropical morning.
And a giant, cowardly turtle.

Tumblr media
Do you find yourself feeling drained, sluggish, and low on energy during the cold winter months? Winter fatigue is real, and it can leave you feeling like you’re stuck in hibernation mode. But there’s a warm, rejuvenating escape waiting for you—an Ayurvedic retreat in Kerala!
What is Winter Fatigue?
Winter fatigue is more than just feeling tired. It’s characterized by low energy levels, mood swings, and an overwhelming desire to stay in bed all day. The long, dark days and cold temperatures can disrupt your body’s natural rhythm, making it difficult to stay motivated and active. If you’re struggling with these symptoms, it’s time to consider a holistic solution.
Why Kerala is Your Perfect Winter Escape
1. Warm and Sunny Weather
While much of the world shivers through the cold months, Kerala enjoys pleasant, warm weather from November to February. The moderate temperatures and sunny days make it an ideal destination to escape the winter blues, especially for travelers from colder regions like the US and Germany.
2. Authentic Ayurvedic Healing
Kerala is the birthplace of Ayurveda, offering a wealth of traditional healing practices that are designed to rejuvenate your body and mind. The state’s Ayurvedic resorts are renowned for their authentic treatments, which can help you beat winter fatigue and restore your vitality.
3. Breathtaking Natural Beauty
Imagine relaxing amidst serene backwaters, exploring lush tea plantations, or simply soaking in the view of golden beaches lined with swaying palm trees. Kerala’s stunning landscapes provide the perfect backdrop for your wellness journey, adding a layer of tranquility and peace to your retreat.
How Ayurveda Helps You Overcome Winter Fatigue
Ayurveda emphasizes the importance of balancing the body, mind, and spirit to achieve optimal health. At an Ayurvedic retreat in Kerala, you’ll receive personalized treatments that are tailored to your specific needs. Here are some therapies that can help:
1. Abhyanga (Full-Body Oil Massage)
This therapeutic massage uses warm herbal oils to invigorate your body, improve circulation, and relieve muscle tension. It’s an ideal remedy for the stiffness and lethargy often experienced during winter.
2. Shirodhara (Soothing Oil Therapy)
In this calming therapy, warm oil is gently poured over your forehead, helping to reduce stress, anxiety, and mental fatigue. It’s a soothing treatment that quiets the mind and promotes deep relaxation.
3. Panchakarma Detox
This comprehensive detoxification program helps eliminate toxins accumulated in the body, restoring balance and boosting immunity. It includes a series of therapies like Vamana (therapeutic vomiting), Virechana (purgation), and Nasya (nasal cleansing) to cleanse your system thoroughly.
4. Kizhi (Herbal Pouch Therapy)
Warm pouches filled with medicinal herbs are used to massage your body, relieving pain and stiffness. This therapy is especially beneficial for improving blood circulation and reducing joint discomfort, common issues during winter.
