Covid Causes Much More than Brain Fog

A mountain of evidence tells us that even mild Covid is bad for your brain.

Last year, a case study in Frontiers in Pediatrics described what Covid did to the lives of two girls. Before getting sick, they made excellent grades. They had lots of friends. They played the piano. They were healthy. After a mild case of Covid, they started complaining about fatigue and joint pain. They forgot how to play their favorite songs. They couldn't do simple math. For six months, their parents and teachers didn't listen. They sent them to a psychologist. They assumed the girls were suffering from anxiety. They weren't. Brain scans finally revealed hypometabolism. Their brains weren't absorbing nutrients. Covid had done something to them. Researchers decided to administer a special supplement to improve cognitive function. After months of treatment, the girls seemed to be showing some signs of improvement. It's the same treatment given to patients with dementia and traumatic brain injury. That's not a coincidence. According to Harvard medical professor Anthony Komaroff, “COVID can damage the brain in many ways.” A recent study in Nature Medicine identified two proteins responsible for memory and concentration problems in post-Covid patients. Researchers at NYU found that the virus can cause direct brain damage, but it often triggers ongoing brain inflammation that could be treated. Covid survivors aren't making it up. It's real. We’ve known about the cognitive impacts of Covid since October 2020, when researchers published about it in the Journal of Psychiatric Research, noting a significant impairment “linked to the underlying inflammatory processes.” In other words, we had evidence that Covid caused brain inflammation that lasted for weeks or months after the infection. Hello my always supportive friends, from our dear Planet of Apes! Yes, I'm in Calabria, in my dad's little town, a place called Sersale. This town is quite a new one, she's 400 years old and stuck on a mountain this makes for very tiny alleys. Enter guest starts my brother, cousin, aunt 1 and uncle 1. Aunt 1 want to go to the cemetery and wants me and brother to go with her. Alright, all the happy fam jump into the car (meriva opel) and uncle 1 has the great idea to TRY A NEW ROAD.

So we start climbing in the older part of the town, god knows how the car manages. We ask then for directions to a lady that directs us to a downright going alley called Via Mazzini. We get into that hoping the Gear will hold and always trusting Uncle 1 (he's great and i love him so much, i trust him in EVERYTHING) the alley... starts... getting... even... tighter. We arrive at the tightest place and start scratching with the side mirrors when two ladies of the town 'ambush' us and start screaming encoring aunt 1 and cousin from inside the car. We are stuck.

Brother hops down from the car to go check if it fits, then uncle1, aunt1 and i hop down. The older lady recognizes aunt1 and they start chatting and catching up on 50 years time they hadn't met. Usual climb up, get some almond milk, chatting in sersalese, recognising and recalling siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews, recognising brother and i as 'your little brother's children, how they look alike!' While they catch up i call first aunt 2 who doesn't answer, then dad. Dad calls uncle 2. Dad and uncle2 get to us, we start laughing. i call aunt 2 'becuase eeeh call her amy!'. Dad, brother and I are sent to the mechanic. The mechanic will take 10 to 15 mins to reach us. i communicate as such to the relatives in loco

The epic trio gets back there. aunt 2 joined the party, they're all chatting and laughing together. After a bit Aunt1 and 2, Cousin and I go away, the men™ stay. While we're make our attempt at the flower shop the mechanic arrives and unstucks the car. Uncle 1 and brother rejoin us on the road.

And we live happily ever after! Only in monkeland!

Udine: la Polizia di Stato interviene per un auto in contromano in A23, evitata la tragedia. Il centralino del Centro Operativo Polizia Stradale di Udine riceve la segnalazione più complessa da gestire, quella che fa crescere l'adrenalina negli operatori richiedendo loro azioni rapidissime e senza alcuna esitazione: veicolo contro mano. Agli allarmi di sicurezza previsti in questo caso e alle segnalazioni telefoniche si sono aggiunte le immagini delle telecamere a circuito chiuso che immortalavano un veicolo percorrere la carreggiata sud dell'autostrada, ossia quella che porta verso Udine, in direzione Austria. L'autovettura procedeva sulla corsia di sorpasso sfiorando gli altri veicoli e percorrendo complessivamente 8 km e ben 2 gallerie. Questo è stato quello che gli operatori del COPS hanno visto dalle telecamere posizionate lungo la carreggiata sud dell'Autostrada A/23 Alpe Adria. Immediatamente veniva bloccato il traffico al Confine di Stato in attesa che il conducente in contromano fosse fermato dalla pattuglia della Polizia Stradale di Amaro il cui equipaggio dopo aver percorso a forte velocità la carreggiata Nord che sale da Ugovizza, utilizzava un By-pass per invertire la marcia e bloccare il veicolo che giungeva contromano. Cosa che accadeva nel giro di pochi minuti scongiurando ogni danno. Alla guida di un Opel Meriva un conducente italiano di 88 anni residente in Provincia che è apparso agli Agenti in evidente stato confusionale. Molto probabilmente dopo aver fatto ingresso per errore in Autostrada, l'anziano trovatosi davanti la barriera di Ugovizza, invertiva la marcia dirigendosi inconsapevolmente contromano sino alla Galleria "Tarvisio". Dopo aver ricondotto il veicolo e la persona in posizione di sicurezza, immediata l'applicazione della sanzione amministrativa da 2.046 a 8.186 Euro, il ritiro della patente di guida ed il fermo del veicolo per tre mesi. In tutti i casi di segnalazione di veicolo contro mano gli utenti della strada devono prendere in considerazione il messaggio sui pannelli luminosi, rallentare e se possibile abbandonare la carreggiata fermandosi in area di servizio o area di parcheggio e se ciò non fosse possibile rallentare e mantenere la destra rigorosa; è emerso, come nel caso in questione, che l'automobilista contro mano tende ad utilizzare la corsia di sorpasso convinto di procedere sulla propria corsia di marcia.... #notizie #news #breakingnews #cronaca #politica #eventi #sport #moda Read the full article
