Quick question: what is steeplechase?

basics out of the way first: steeplechase is the latest campaign in the adventure zone, a comedy/adventure tabletop rpg podcast by the McElroy brothers and their dad. griffin, travis and justin are the same ones who do 'my brother, my brother and me' if youve heard any of the clips from that floating around.

its a really fun campaign bc its set in a futuristic theme park that got so huge its basically its own city, with a large criminal underground. the game itself is centred around building rep in the underground and pulling heists in various themed sections of the park (one of them is themed on nostalgia, one of them is themed on detective noirs, one is a love island style dating show).

i think its nearing the end of the run now, most of the eps are out already and ive really enjoyed it! the setting is fantastic, the player characters are some of my faves and the npcs are all memorable. id actually recommend it to anyone who enjoys that sort of genre

The Mirror Galaxy, M100 // Rolf Olsen

Clearly the Mirror Galaxy is in an area of the sky rich with other galaxies. M100 is a member of the Virgo Cluster, and is about 55 million light years away.

This galaxy was discovered by Méchain in 1781, and played a role in the first observations of the Hubble Space Telescope. Within weeks of launch of the HST in 1990, operators noticed a flaw in the optical system causing the images to be blurrier than expected. This was caused by the fact that the optical mirror had been polished to the wrong shape: the outer perimeter of the mirror was too flat by about 2,200 nanometers (1/11,000 of an inch)!

To fix the issue, NASA sent up a servicing mission in December 1993 and installed what are effectively corrective glasses. In January 1994, NASA declared the mission a complete success and showed the first sharper images. Below, you can see what a difference corrective optics makes!

now that I no longer have to worry about brave girls possibly getting eliminated (my gut feeling says they’re winning both the vocal and dance collaboration missions this round … 99% sure about the former, like 50% for the latter because they haven’t even performed yet lmao) I can watch* queendom the way I want. only paying attention to groups having fun, preparing performances and performing. absolutely paying zero attention to rankings or votes and anything related to streams

*watch = only having the stream on when I feel like it and then watch performances or fun videos on social media afterwards
