Realizing that Restart getting animated means I get more animated MGRP content but also I get to witness Lapis Lazuline and Pechka get murdered in real time

MAGICAL GIRL RAISING PROJECT,,,,

the anime has 1 season but there's 7 arcs (unmarked, restart, limited, JOKERS, ACES, QUEENS, and black black) but including the short stories, of the light novels there's 17 volumes in total!

this is one of those series you NEED to start from the beginning or nothing else will make sense

i won't spoil anything from restart onwards but unmarked was basically a magical girl "elimination game", what with there being 16 magical girls in N City and the mascot, Fav, tells them they need to halve the number of girls as there's way too many. this kicks off the magical candy hunt, in which they save people, earn candies, so on so forth. the girl with the least amount at the end of the week is stripped of her powers and title and supposedly goes back to being a normal girl.

However.

after the first girl, nemurin, is eliminated, it's quickly found out by everyone else that not only was she stripped of her powers, but also her life as well. this kicks off a mad dash to get as many candies as possible, while also adding a new feature to the game where the girls can steal candies from each other

eventually a girl is found dead and that prevents an elimination from taking place, establishing the rule that if a magical girl is killed, whoever has the least candies is spared (remember, this is all under the assumption they need to get the number of girls from 16 to 8)

it basically turns into a killing game for the rest of the book, with girls trying to off each other to save their own asses

it is eventually found to all be a fake situation set up by the magical girl cranberry, as after an incident when she was younger she only wanted to fight strong opponents. so with the help of fav (who was tired of the typical magical girl selection process) they both set up this game as a means to an end

i can't explain it well enough, this is really something you need to read for yourself but goD,,,,

this series is quite possibly my favorite example of "not all people who have power are good", as most of the cast are good people, theres also the abusive alcoholic calamity mary, the verbally abusive ruler, the money hungry magicaloid, the peaky angels, and of course cranberry herself

swim swim could also count but she's. seven. and was under rulers teachings so i'm not counting her as a bad Person just someone who wasn't given the best guidance.
