Bringing back my old Polaroid series because I'm a sentimental bastard who wants to draw stupid memes in the form of scrapbooked photos
Giving Willow access to fire spells was a mistake @maddienotsograceful

I'd love to hear about some defining moments that made the party of MHC come together as a team 👀
Oh Boy Do I Have Some Stories akfhskfhd—
For me, I feel like the clearest moment for our team was our very first combat encounter together, which introduced all of us to a threat we had no way of explaining.
At the time, our party was made up of:
- Chorus [bard]; newcomer to town, looking forward to (hopefully) making friends. Has a crush on Wolfmire because himbos are their type
- Willow [druid]; infamous in town for her strange mannerisms, best (and only) friend is her pet rock Joseph. Broke into the school before it opened on the first day to "show Joseph* around"
*Joseph the rock, not to be confused with Joseph the janitor (no relation)
- Jackson [paladin]; struggling with grief after the loss of his mom, which he tries to keep secret from everyone. Has been able to see magic his whole life, but wrote it off as an overactive imagination
- Wolfmire [npc, Jackson's best friend] himbo with a heart of gold, track star, loves his best friend. Now questioning his sexuality because Chorus exists
(For the sake of clarity, I'm going to refer to the previous campaign as MHC: beta, and revamped story plans as MHC: reboot. All these moments are from the original campaign, MHC: beta)
Session 1 of MHC: beta. We had each individually gone through our first day of highschool, and ended up all volunteering to clean up the auditorium after a confetti canon mishap.
Wolfmire ran off after an hour or so of cleaning to grab a snack since he forgot lunch. We heard the sound of a scuffle, and rushed to find he'd been jumped by some upperclassmen. Despite having only known each other for a short time, we rushed to help him, leaping into the fray.
Over the course of the encounter, it became increasingly clear to all of us that some Fuck ShitTM was going on:
- Jackson summoned a Warhammer from his dogtags
- he also saw that the main "bully" had claws
- Willow realized her pet rock Joseph was in fact, a pseudodragon
‐ Chorus felt fate shift to their will, allowing Wolfmire to land a hit on an enemy
But things went from Weird to downright Horrifying when the leader of the group transformed, killing one of his downed teammates with the resulting shockwave.
At that moment, the stakes of our situation became crystal clear. This wasn't the highschool bully we had originally believed him to be. We were fighting something that wasn't supposed to exist— a real monster. And it had no regard for human life.
Wolfmire was the first to try and attack after the revelation, but was unable to hit the creature in its new form.
Chorus, staring into the face of danger, felt their resolve harden. Guided by instinct, they swung the ukulele they had been using as a club into playing position, striking a chord and crying out...
and cast their very first spell
A concentrated wave of sound, visible in the air, that blasted the creature out through the cafeteria windows, ending our first fight as a party.
Investigation revealed that the creature had survived, fleeing into the woods. And as we turned to go, Willow and Wolfmire realized there were many, Many more of them among the trees.
In the aftermath of the encounter, we each struggled to process what exactly we had just witnessed. Someone had died. We could've died.
But we didn't.
We had protected each other, despite only having just met. And whatever we had just stepped into, it was far from over.
An announcement at the end of the day reported that two students had gone missing, and called all students to the gym for a pep rally. We all looked to each other, and came to a conclusion. We were in this together now, and we needed to learn more.
————
A group of strangers coming together to protect one another, even in the face of something terrifying, coming out of the encounter with their worldviews fundamentally changed, knowing that no one else would understand what they had all just experienced together??? That's the fuckin Definition of Good Shit in my opinion
There were certainly many more moments throughout the campaign where we bonded as a team, but our first encounter was the most striking for me.
It set the tone for our bond as a party, giving us this Very Fucked Up shared experience, tying us together in the threads of what we had discovered. And, it worked very well to introduce all of us to the magical world in a way that felt natural (discovering our abilities throughout combat) while still being distinctly alien to our characters.
Once again, I'm gonna sing the praises of our dm. She did a fantastic job going along with our shenanigans, weaving our stories together, and sewing a trail for us to follow, and I'm really grateful that I was able to be a part of the campaign!

Going through the recordings from MHC: beta, not even 30 minutes into a 5 hour session and so far we have these gems:
"Guys, we could have support rocks." — Willow
"We cut back to outside, where all the people who didn't break into the school are—" — DM
"Is he the only one who has a real human friend?" — Willow, ooc
"Well John, put the pie back in your bag, we're gonna see how this goes" — Chorus

Give me my memories back you bitch
*talking out of character about one of the side effects of dimension hopping*
Chorus: If one of you ends up tiny— if you end up tiny, Chorus will not be able to hold back, they'll be like "can I pick you up real quick??
Willow: oh, I thought you were gonna ask "can I punt you?" And I was gonna say "yes you can"
Chorus: I Would N e v e r Punt You—
Willow: why??? If I'm small you punt me—
Alyanah: I Would do that! And I Love Willow!

A bit of a sketch dump cause I need to get over my perfectionism when it comes to posting art. Most of these are shitposts or bits of character art from the campaign my character Chorus is from!
