1: Reference to Umberto Tozzi and Raf's 1987 song Gente di Mare ("Seafarers"). Most "illegal" immigrants reach Italy by sea through boats or rafts

2: Slang term for a mini-market owned by south asian immigrants. Also, "they steal our jobs", opposition to immigration 101 all across the board

3: Illegal waste burial is a really common practice in Italy

4: Exploitation of immigrants and their labour

5: Although anti-refugees sentiment is still strong, undeniably ukrainian refugees are more easily "accepted" than others due to both racism and to how close the russo-ukranian war is to Italy itself

Quando un gruppo di amici decide di organizzare una vacanza bisogna sempre aspettarsi qualche strana avventura. Soprattutto se la vacanza è mezza improvvisata. Soprattutto se è in Italia. Soprattutto se la vacanza l’ha improvvisata Courfeyrac.

Il Mare Dove non Tocchi è un esperimento che il trio di autrici RumentaRivoluzionaria è orgoglioso di presentarvi: una fanfiction? Un blog? Una follia, forse. Proveremo a raccontarvi questa storia in un modo diverso, ovvero con una fic multimediale. Una volta alla settimana troverete un link al nuovo capitolo delle avventure degli Amis de l’ABC pubblicato sulla nostra pagina AO3, ma nel frattempo potrete seguire gli aggiornamenti di questo sgangherato gruppo di amici vacanzieri qui sul blog, attraverso le loro chat, le foto che scatteranno durante la vacanza, i loro post sui social e molto altro ancora.
