I'm into genre fiction, fantasy and sci-fi and all that. one of my favorite things though as someone who has worked in the tech space for many a year is when a movie or show is set into the future and we get a glimpse of like, idk, teachers seemlessly using holograph technology in the classroom or like walk in vending machines that make you a burger or something idk you know what I mean. anything, think of something

because yeah that tech might exist in the future, but you know what won't? seemless integration. a priority for project management. efficient roll outs. competent employee training.

so any time a teacher is waving her hand effortlessly and the hologram zooms in perfectly to the correct detail and everyone's little tablets beep boop with the supplement information I just haff to laff. in real world 2123 that teacher will be ignoring update pop ups and asking if everyone can see her notes on their tablets and when they say "we're getting error messages that the file extension is wrong" she'll be like okay whatever I don't have time to figure it out meanwhile in the lecture hall next door professor tenure at 89 years old is completely ignoring the already outdated HoloFyre Gen 2 that's integrated in that classroom and instead is using his handly ol' reliable Holophone MicroComp Deck which hasn't been manufactured in 35 years, while all his freshman groan since that means he won't be able to beam the exam questions into their HoloFyre Gen 6 minis that they were told were required materials this year by admin. and I love that for our great grand babies <3

Life History of Mr. Shiv Nadar

Nadar was born in a hamlet in Tamil Nadu on July 14, 1945, to Sivasubramaniya Nadar and Vamasundari Devi. He was so bright as a child that he was given the moniker "Magus," which means "wizard" in ancient Persian. His education was completed in Kumbakonam's Town Higher Secondary School. He also attended Madurai's Elango Corporation Higher Secondary School. He then transferred to St. Joseph’s Boys Higher Secondary School in Trichy, where he completed his high school education. Shiv earned a pre-university diploma from Madurai's American college. He began his work at Walchand Group's College of Engineering in Pune after receiving an Electrical and Electronic degree from PSG College of Technology in Coimbatore. In 1967, Nadar started his work at the Walchand group's College of Engineering, Pune (COEP). Later, he went on to work for the Delhi Cloth Mills' digital products business. Working as an employee let him realize that this was not his calling. He and a couple of his coworkers, who shared his dissatisfaction with their unfulfilling employment, decided to quit and start their own business. MicroComp Limited was the first company that Nadar and his associates founded. This business is specialized in the production and distribution of teledigital calculators. However, the group had a bigger purpose in mind. Nonetheless, MicroComp was regarded as a first step toward the larger goal.

In 1976, a group of six engineers, led by Shiv Nadar started a company Microcomp Limited, that would make personal computers. First, they started selling tele digital calculators to gather capital for their main product. On 11 August 1976, the company was renamed Hindustan Computers Limited (HCL).

On 12 November 1991, a company called HCL Overseas Limited was incorporated as a provider of technology development services. It received the certificate of commencement of business on 10 February 1992 after which it began its operations. Two years later, in July 1994, the company name was changed to HCL Consulting Limited and eventually to HCL Technologies Limited in October 1999.

HCL Technologies Ltd is in the IT – Software sector, having a market capitalization of Rs. 160,391.18 crores. It has reported a consolidated sale of Rs. 18,135 crores and a net profit of Rs. 2,944 crores for the quarter ended December 2019. As on 31-12-2019, the company has a total of 2,713,665,096 shares outstanding.

HCL Tech shares closed at 589.25 on January 20, 2020 (NSE) and has given 15.66% returns over the last 6 months and 22.03% over the last 12 months.

CRISIL has renewed and reaffirmed its corporate credit rating on HCL Technologies Limited (HCL Technologies) at ‘CCR AAA/Stable’.

For arriving at the rating, CRISIL has combined the business and financial risk profiles of HCL Technologies and its subsidiaries as they are in the same business. CRISIL has also amortised the goodwill arising out of HCL Technologies’ acquisition of Axon Group Plc over a 10-year period; adjusted net worth was Rs 40,239 crore as on March 31, 2019.

Healthy capital structure with comfortable gearing at 0.10 time, large networth of Rs 40,239 crore and cash and cash equivalents of Rs 8,866 crore as on March 31, 2019. Debt-protection metrics are robust, with interest coverage ratio of 81 times and net cash accrual to total debt ratio of 2.6 times in fiscal 2019. HCL Technologies is expected to invest in niche acquisitions to strengthen its existing portfolio in the medium term and will be largely funded from its cash surplus and healthy accruals.

The company management includes Shiv Nadar (Chairman and Chief Strategy Off.), Robin Abrams (Independent Director), Manish Anand. (Company Secretary), R Srinivasan Ramanathan (Independent Director), Sosale Shankara Sastry (Independent Director) among others.
