I just started "DOAC" and wanted to share something. I'm 3 chapters in and understand that there are some turbulence ahead. Knowing that, reading through I knew that I trust you. Realizing that made me less anxious. I trust you and I trust your writing. I trust your decisions and the journey I'm taking with you. it's the feeling of being safe and at home- not an easy task these days. When I'm cursing my life for interrupting me, I know I'm enjoying a good fic. You create worlds I love to live in

i’m sorry i didn’t see your message earlier! i was working on the fanfic page and i didn’t check my inbox. i made that page mainly because i was deleting doac. maybe it’s because the comments got to me, but what i could stomach to reread wasn’t great content. i think the first few chapters are soft and sweet, their friendship budding like it did. but there’s a turn somewhere in there that doesn’t fit the tone, and yea. if you were reading on your browser and want to keep reading it, there are three links for download here.

life hasn’t been easy lately, and i’m an emotional wreck in my best days. and reading that you trust me as a writer and that you feel safe with my stories made me start tearing up and it snowballed into full on crying. “you create worlds i love to live in” is the most beautiful thing anyone has said about my writing, thank you so much.

Thinking about what U said- that U don't believe this sort of love exists anymore. One has to go through a grieving process after realizing that. I go to the blissful place of denial regarding this issue (it is a COPING mechanism, so I'm good). It's a battle between ideal fantasy (years of RomCom/CW shows probably) and the real world. The wider the gap, the longer the process. But life is in the grays, right? and you definitely don't shy from them. black and white are for the weak. stay strong.

Yeah...it’s been...an adjustment lol. I’ll go back to writing love stories eventually. Hopefully. Maybe.

Your CFAU is breathtaking. I’d like to share something– I hope It’s OK. I’d love to read about Clarke’s feeling since D day. Her friends are there for her but they keep trying to find solution or trash Lexa. Her BF is Lexa. She’s the one she wants to talk to. But Lexa is MIA so how could she talk to her? hmm– letters! She could write letters to Lexa sharing the pain and anger (and despair, love, sadness, fear, grief and more). There are more than 2 years’ worth of heartbreaking letters there.

As far as the letters headcanon, CFAU!Clarke would never actually do that for a multitude of reasons but I love to hear the things people come up with. It satisfies the curiosity to see what people are getting from the character, even when they’re totally off base.

(1/2) The way I see Clarke’s character - please tell me how off base I am. She’s strong. Stubborn. Confident. She has a way to get what she wants. Makes decisions with her heart, and her heart can withstand anything. Love and pain. She does everything for her people- family. She loves fiercely. As for her relationship with Lexa: Lexa is a need. Like air. You can’t really look at Clarke’s actions as choosing Lexa over anything else because Lexa is her power source.

(2/2) It’s more than best friends. It’s more than a great love. It’s more than soulmates. She can’t phantom the idea of Lexa not being a part of her, and she ultimately believed that this is how Lexa saw them too. (I think this is one of the reasons why what Lexa did triggered the ultimatum.)If I’m off base (aka having trouble with letting things go after being wrong) – I’m starting to read CFAU again.

I think this could be good interpretation of the text. Things like this have a lot of nuances and everyone could and might interpret the smaller details differently but it’s one of those aspects where I wouldn’t necessarily say I could actively argue about against anything you said. Not about this SPECIFIC thing.
