FMA 03's medical technology is kind of vague, so sometimes I wonder exactly how advanced it is. They have things like automail, shots for food poisoning, and medicine that helps with... internal bleeding? Whatever Izumi has going on... her whole condition is kind of a big question mark. Idk if she lost ALL of the organs in her lower abdomen including bladder and colon OR if Sig just meant the uterus + ovaries and was just weird about saying it (she does throw up blood so it might be the former! I guess sepsis doesn't exist in this universe. Or the blood is just there to convey that there's something wrong and isn't meant to be taken literally idk). The existence of automail makes me think that they probably have other surgical technology? But if they do it either isn't that advanced or Izumi doesn't have access to it/know about it/has some aversion to it for whatever reason. Orrr if I'm going more into headcanon territory, maybe she did get reparative surgery but experiences complications.

i see the “army vet bucky” modern au alternatives for the winter soldier trauma and raise you “life-altering motorcycle accident survivor turned (recovered) painkiller addict bucky”. i think this might be too niche but there’s so many parallels psychologically wrt: the lack of choice inherent in the neurobiology of drug addiction particularly in ppl who started off just taking what was prescribed to them for their pain in like the 90s/early 2000s (when pharma execs Lied about the neurological impacts). the way you kind of lose all that time despite still living it and having the memories, how sometimes the memories feel like they belong to a different person once you get sober. how it separates you from everyone else in your life who Didn’t suffer like that. it’s Compelling. imo.

sometimes genshin will be doing its gacha thing and or some other general annoying non gacha cringe and it sucks and theres a snoozefest patch and writing that falls short of its full potential and shoddy QoL and an underutilized combat system and when its like that its easy to be all ha ha shit game fuck this company i dont owe em shit but then u sit on it a while calm down and eventually go back to like. the chasm nail and just. listen to that haunting fucking OST and remember how ur breath caught and heart skipped when u discovered it the first time with that same melody kicking in gear only to drill that sucker punch of a wonder in further so that ur stuck helplessly left staring at the scene in front of u for minutes and minutes just. lost in that ambience . And try to remember the last time a video game has so effortlessly managed to instill this completely indescribable feeling in you (on MULTIPLE occasions) and absorb you into this world crafted with so much love and careful attention radiating from its every pore and its like. yeah yeah i know i know . why ive stuck with it all this time . why im most likely not quitting until EoS
