I haven’t heard about AO3 being reported to the FBI, however

1. AO3 was delisted from Google search in Germany from December 2022 to midJanuary 2023 because someone reported it to the Federal Department for Media Harmful to Young Persons due to "child pornography content”

2. It’s banned in China because someone wrote an explicit fanfic about an idol and because it allows fanfics that deal with lgbtqia identities

3. False reports clog up the NCMEC’s resources and have led to the imprisonment of a 17 year old Costa Rican girl and a Russian transgender woman, both of whom posted drawings on their account. INHOPE members were reporting drawings as CSAM

The NCMEC also reported that in may 2019, 90% of all reports were NOT child sexual abuse images. Imagine how long it takes to find images of ACTUAL children because the system is manual, there’s no AI which is filtering out the reports. And oftentimes when they get to the abusive material, it’s often too late for the victim

Fic status update:

The beast grows.

When I decided to make this story a long form fic, I didn’t quite anticipate just how long it would actually end up being. I don’t want to split it up into small digestible chunks of like 2,000 words each, even if that would give me more updates and hits… the story simply doesn’t flow unless the parts I planned as a whole are presented as a whole. So however long it takes and however long it ends up, you’re gonna get a lot of content at once
