Have you ever written fan comics of this scale for any other fandom? What other fandoms do you participate in?

Not of this scale, but I have written tons of comics for other fandoms in general. If you look at my main blog, @thechekhov you can find them pretty easily.

My main fandoms right now are Critical Role and The Locked Tomb and I think that's what I've drawn the most comics for?

There's more deeper in there. I think the closest I've come to creating a longer form comic was making the Mighty Neintales AU for Critical Role? But that's more like a series of connected short comics than a long one.

Caleb never actually owns Solgaleo. He returns it to the Dynasty when they arrive as a Cosmoem, but once it evolves fully it comes to the Nein’s call when needed.

As for the OTHER beacon... Well, you’ll have to wait to find out I guess!

I’ve been busy AF this week, working 12+ hour days, so I haven’t had much chance to comic - but here’s a quick title card I whipped up for whenever I get around to organizing stuff for this crossover

I love all the details of the mighty neintales, like how the pokeballs are clearly carved out of wood. It really fits the fantasy setting

Me, whenever you guys notice small details I lovingly put into the comics, presuming no one will care or see them:

I have THOUGHTS on all the M9's pokeballs and how they're all kinda unique that I will probably make a post about later, when I do their character profiles.

Meanwhile, have some of the balls that have appeared so far!

Blumendrei's pokeballs they all got from Trent, which are neat and polished but eventually the paint wears down:

I love your mightynein tales AU so much! The drawings are fantastic, and I absolutely love all the little bits of worldbuilding and character twists that have come from the combination. Especially all the thought that clearly went into the name! The perfect pokemon twist on the original misunderstanding-spawning moniker lol. With the themes around it foreshadowing later team developments, it does make me wonder if a certain future ally has a vulpix… 👀

Hooooly shiiii- Newest Mighty Nientails comic is so cool! Now I'm left wondering if the beacons might be connected to Z Crystals and if the Dynasty's Luxon is actually Ultra Necrozma.

I mean, maybe it's too obvious a comparison with both of them being extra-dimensional gods of light who's true forms were shattered and scattered across the world, becoming crystals of significant power.

Thank you! I have definitely played around with the idea of connecting Necrozma to the Luxon because there are MANY parallels which fit well. (Others don't fit so well, and I'd probably rework them to be closer to the CR lore regarding the Dynasty. )

It is, of course, not a one to one comparison. The Beacons are represented by Cosmog and their evolutions, but they aren't the Luxon directly - Necrozma (specifically Ultra Necrozma) is a great metaphor for it though, and the fact that they all kinda work together with one another in lore is just a delicious extra part of that.

Do you think youll ever write a pokemon AU for the Bells Hells a la the Mighty Neintales?

I mean, MAYBE but I feel like I can't until the whole series is over. I KNOW the Mighty Nein so much better and therefore I can connect various storyline plot-points to a pokemon concept with them.

With the Bells Hells... who the fuck even KNOWS what they're about? THEY don't even know! Half the dang plotlines are secrets they're waiting to discover!

Others have definitely done a fantastic job of trying to get them teams, though. I particularly loved @jroahn 's depiction of Laudna and Imogen's teams in this post.

How spoilery is Mighty Neintales going to get?

Hmm...

Pretty spoiler-y? I'm trying to stick to the main plotline. It's literally based on the campaign. The only way to avoid spoilers would be on accident, by replacing some detail with a pokemon fact that obscures it. But still.

I love your Pokemon AU so much. I'm now imagining Frumpkin being a Ditto and the reaction of the party the first time they realize that.

Honestly, I’ve considered the idea before and hadn’t quite settled on it... but now...

Don’t know what came over me, but I was hit with a MIGHTY NEED to draw manga style Critical Role/Pokemon comics.

Can’t promise that there’ll be a continuation, but this AU is fun to think about. :)
